RibbleValleyRover Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Beckham has joined Milan on loan: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7683877.stm Bet it was a tough choice between them and us Didn't Capello say that he would only select players who are 'active' and in form? It will be interesting to see if Beckham gets selected for future qualifiers, as i can't see him playing that much for Milan. Though Capello does clearly have links to Milan so that may be in Beckham's favour.
Hughesy Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 He was never going to come here anyway, and im sure we havent even showed an interest in him anyway. Back to the real task in hand - any good right midfielders out there we should be looking at? No championship manager names please. I think we need a box to box midfielder with abit of pace, a right winger and possibly another striker (Cisse would of been perfect).
67splitscreen Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Anyone no anything, about this guy we are linked with in Egypt. Was posted on another MB today. Rovers linked to

Rovers linked to I posted something about this on the previous page and there is a youtube video link on there as well. I haven't heard of the player before this speculation.

ABBEY Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I guess, you could say that he was the first celebrity footballer who used the media boom to become a mega-rich commercial icon. In that sense, yes, he is/was a superstar. And, yeah, I'd have in our team. We can't be choosers. Not that I can imagine him ever wanting to join us ahead of the inevitable "prestigious" clubs that would have their arms out. george best
roverfanuk Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Beckham has joined Milan on loan: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7683877.stm Bet it was a tough choice between them and us Did we make a offer? Just a idea. Suppose the commute from Italy is still far quicker then from the States. He can also take the Channel Tunnel if he is worries about DVT!
92er Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 He was never going to come here anyway, and im sure we havent even showed an interest in him anyway. On Radio Lancs today there was an interview with Ince in which he stated he was very impressed with Beckham, he reallly rated him as a player and would be delighted with him coming to us-but then went on to say he would never come.
waggy Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 i would like to see rovers sign kightly from wolves in jan,a player who started at the bottom and good enough for the premier

Mr Creosote Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 i would like to see rovers sign kightly from wolves in jan,a player who started at the bottom and good enough for the premier Kightly recently signed an extended contract at Wolves and said he was privileged to do so. We dont like it when clubs are linked with RSC under similar circumstances.
DingleBaiter Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Kightly recently signed an extended contract at Wolves and said he was privileged to do so. We dont like it when clubs are linked with RSC under similar circumstances. And part of him signing a new contract was helped by the fact he named us directly as wanting to sign him, albeit under Hughes' time here. THAT interest wouldn't have gone unnoticed in his contract terms, nor in the value Wolves would be willing to listen to for him. Also, Ince has gone on record as saying they want 6m plus for him. It's all in the game. If we went for him, we'd pay them well for him. If they get promotion, he may stay with them. IMO it's a wait out situation - we know what it would take to get him, he's happy enough where he is, for now. As you say, similar circumstances with Roque, it does seem unique that both of them seem to be behaving more respectfully that most do in the same situations. I think there's a cause of being a 'bit holier than thou' in not welcoming interest for our players; least it shows (generally) other clubs are interested so we must be doing something right. Every player has his price after all, and I'd back us against anyone business-wise on getting good deals on transfers out.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 City won´t be needing Benjani.. I suspect if we showed just a whiff of interest in a City Player they would use them as bait for RSC. Best to stay clear of anything to do with City
Hughesy Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Benjani is a strange one though because nobody knows his real age.
Billy Castell Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 A bit like Stonehenge then. Benjiani should be avoided at all costs for the reasons previously stated.
47er Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Kightly recently signed an extended contract at Wolves and said he was privileged to do so. We dont like it when clubs are linked with RSC under similar circumstances. If Wolves get promotion he'll stay and all of us would respect him for that. But if they don't I'd sooner we got him than anyone else.
thenodrog Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Something will happen to bail them out of their predicament but a fire sale at Lpool might make Benayoun a possible target.
DingleBaiter Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Benjani is a strange one though because nobody knows his real age. Crikey, we've just shifted one like that allegedly, we don't need another.
QOTSA Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 This probably isn't the right place for this but what the heck! Don't think it'll come as too much of a surprise but Vogel's on his way. He's been told he can look for another club.

Know anything about there? Blackburn want to sign Liverpool reserve midfielder Astrit Adjarevic. (Daily Mirror) Rovers manager Paul Ince is also targeting 21-year-old Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Al-Muhammadi. (Daily Mirror)

(Daily Mirror) I was wondering the same thing but then found out Ajdarevic played for the reserves last night so how and when that happened I don't know! Looks as though we have snapped up another youngster from one of the big clubs. Anyone know anything about him?
