Ross McCormack is an excellent young player who unfortunately did not get a fair crack of the whip at Rangers, another one of Paul Le Guen's Hodgson-like decisions.

I don't imagine it'll be too long until he's in the Premiership, we could do a lot worse.

That sounds a bit more promising actually except for the bit about selling Santa Cruz for only £15mil. Alexis Sanchez would be an awesome signing but I somehow doubt we would lead the race for his signature. Sanchez and Villanueva would be able to help each other though both being from Chile. Manucho and Sturridge could do a job for us. And a 16 year old brazilian trialist??? At Blackburn??? Get him in!

According to BBC as well we want Nedum Onuoha who isn't bad, we could do worse than him but we could probably do better as well.

I thought clue was the word 'realistic' in the subject line? begs the question - why are you looking in the People? :P

After his attempted entry into the 'Jamie Carragher own-goal' competition, allied with still looking like he's carrying his buttox injury, plus his erratic form, I'd listen to (sensible-which probably excludes Igor Redknapp) offers for Nelsen - especially given our strength in depth at centre half. If he's not going to get back to his consistent game, he's as saleable as the next man.

Sturridge in return would be good value if we were to sell Santa Cruz there, in my opinion. But "close to tying up a deal" is tabloid rubbish, how could he be close to doing that NOW? As for Manucho, I know nothing about him, but surely if we get another 15-20m for Santa Cruz - two big money signings is expected, certainly from the fans' end.

We do want to keep Santa Cruz though, and preferably play McCarthy alongside him without injury- and suspension-breakups. Add Villanueva to that mix, and a quality right winger, and we can rock most team's defensive game.

Hope that's a load of old cobblers - we're looking at a loan bid for someone if if Roque leaves for 15m?

With current rovers board that would not surprise me at all. After all – we generated circa 10 million from Bentley, supposedly had a transfer kitty of 10 million besides ( which would tie in with fact that the club pocketed an additional 15-20 million in income this year). Yet still Ince tells us we are skint

Sturridge's agent is busy today; been linked with a few clubs. Is it a coincidence he's angling for a new contract, present one runs out end of this season perchance? Hmmm

Manucho - haven't they been trying to change his loan, isn't he over in Greece just now? Interesting player, good ANC, but doubt there's anything doing. More chance of Michael Owen coming down in January to convert all our 'attacking' play. :D

Taking the opinion of Alan Nixon on Daniel Levy's transfer tactics and the 'toys out of the pram' attitude of Arry when he doesn't get things all his own way at whatever cost, I'd say that Spurs might just have a marriage made in Hell on their hands.

Here's hoping.....

I was going to suggest watching Spurs for a different reason- they have a tight wage structure so when 'Arry has finished re-arranging the deck chairs, there might be a decent player or two coming available there within Rovers' wage range.

I think we will end up doing really well with Paul Robinson and there are probably similar nuggets for the picking.

That rumour's from this mornings News of the World if anyone is interested...

Personally, i think we should look at remodeling our defence bar Warnock.

Onuoha at right back would be quality. If we could sell Nelly to Spuds for 4 million, id rip their hands off personally!

And no doubt Man.City will try to get RSC out of it.

If they want Roque Santa Cruz that badly, let them have him. In return get Nedum Onuoha and Stephen Ireland + £13 million... We dont have to sell Roque, and we know they want him, so we hold all the cards at the moment...

If they accepted that, midfield would be sorted bar RM and our defence would look a whole lot stronger.

We'd still have the money to bring in a RM, CB and a couple decent center forwards...

If we could have a suitable replacement lined up then I'd snap Arry's hands off. Admittedly allowing your captain to leave may backfire but we've got to face it , the guy isn't going to return to the defender that he was a few seasons ago.

It seems that some people are quite happy with our defence. 20 goals against would suggest otherwise, and IMO Samba and Warnock aside I wouldn't be unhappy if we lost any of them.

Our defence is a shambles. The facts speak for themselves. But I don't think it's helped by the rest of the side. You defend from the front, remember.

I'd take Spurs bid for Nelsen, but I have a feeling Ince won't. Selling our skipper won't look good for team morale.

I think the propoganda put out for Roque should be along the lines that Mark Hughes is more than likely lose his job at City and be replaced by a lesser figure within the near future thus making Roque think twice about a move to Wastelands.

I'm actually wondering is if we could cash in RSC on a pre-contract agreement (as on the continent) to City right now, and cut our losses. Could be squeaky bam time, and perhaps another case of losing 18million down the sofa somewhere, but I'm beginning to have doubts on RSC for this season. Maybe it's his injuries coming home to roost, maybe it's his lack of form, maybe it's all the off-field tripe.

However, I've bigger doubts about our Plan B for life without RSC - even if he shakes off the 3 factors mentioned previously, we're simply over-reliant on him - and he's not getting the service either.

Is Ashley Ward still 'playing'? What about Duncan Shearer? What about Grabbi? Kaba Diawara?

Now there's a forward line of 4 players that would strike fear and worry into folk - problem is, it would be our own fans.
