RoverRich Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I'm looking for vids of Orellana but most of them are crap quality. I found this summary of the U23 Toulon tournament which featured both Villanueva (n15) and Orellana (n14). Chile 2-0 Holland (Orellana with an assist and a goal) = http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=egLVmQUOaxs The goal that shot him to fame in Chile: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T77UO4qiz4Y That was a nice goal! Not just the finish but a team goal and a quick attack. I think someone needs to tell Ince to get his scouts out to Chile. This Orellana dude sounds useful and could be well worth a look at. As for the Egyptian dude, surely we don't need another defensive midfielder! We need attacking midfielders and wingers!
DingleBaiter Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Any news on the TWO Brazilian triallists currently @ Brockhall?
chileandude Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I agree, Blackburn need wingers that can open the pitch...Orellana would be a good bet, maybe we can get a nice deal from Audax if we buy both Orellana and Villanueva...it's worth a try at least.
AggyBlue Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I agree, Blackburn need wingers that can open the pitch...Orellana would be a good bet, maybe we can get a nice deal from Audax if we buy both Orellana and Villanueva...it's worth a try at least. Send your scouting reports to Barry Whitbread @ Blackburn Rovers
Hughesy Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Il forward it to the club and see if they take it seriously yeah?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Speaking seriously, it might actually be an idea. At least tip them off about the aforementioned players. Keep the information coming Chiliandude, and see if you can get in touch with Barry at the club and get someone to have a look and see if we can organise to watch a game over there or at least look at some videos.
chileandude Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I found out there are a few European clubs, Mexican clubs...and one of those from Dubai interested in Orellana. The good news is he might be worth a bit less than I thought, rumors say it's around £1.5 million pounds! I think Blackburn should have a look at getting both Orellana and Villanueva at £6.5 million! That would be a sweet deal IMO.
92er Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I wonder if we'll actually sign Carlosito. It's a lot of money for us to pay for a guy who's not playing all the time and is not always effective.
Majiball Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Any news on the TWO Brazilian triallists currently @ Brockhall? Who would they be??
47er Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I agree, Blackburn need wingers that can open the pitch...Orellana would be a good bet, maybe we can get a nice deal from Audax if we buy both Orellana and Villanueva...it's worth a try at least. Good to see you saying "we"! Welcome to the club!
chileandude Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I wonder if we'll actually sign Carlosito. It's a lot of money for us to pay for a guy who's not playing all the time and is not always effective. At the moment I agree...we will see by the end of the season if he makes it to £5million, I think he will make it...if not Blackburn might negotiate for both players at a bargain price.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I wonder if we'll actually sign Carlosito. It's a lot of money for us to pay for a guy who's not playing all the time and is not always effective. Still plenty of time to make that decision, because at this moment in time I would not be wasting a sizable portion of our transfer budget on him. Although he does shows glimpses which show that he has the ability. I wonder what the people who bemoaned the fact that we only signed him on loan during pre-season are wondering.
philipl Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Manchester City manager Mark Hughes is lining up a bid for Blackburn defender Stephen Warnock. (Daily Mirror) Manchester City defender Nedum Onouha could be used as part of the deal that brings Warnock to the club. (Daily Mirror)
Hughesy Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Warnock to City? What deal would you be happy with? £5-6m + Onuha?
vintageadidas Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 £1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 - this much money and they want Steven Warnock, REALLY! Just another story to unsettle our players. The press have it in for us. Where are all the Portsmouth players leaving stories?
den Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Warnock to City? What deal would you be happy with? £5-6m + Onuha? Hmmmm, - selling another of our better players and taking a player that they don't want in PX? Only one direction that would take us in.
roverfanuk Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 IMO, Warnock is the last player we should be selling. He has looked the most consistent defender when played in the right position! We should look at signing a few center backs in January and poss a RB still, as the vast majority of our defence has been woefull this season!
Amo Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I doubt there's anything in that. Warnock's playing well and getting recognised, therefore he's an instant link to Sparky's new club.
bennyboyt11 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Man City lining up a bid for Nigerian defender Taiwo (Daily Mail)
DingleBaiter Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I know it's not a Summer move, but surprised there's not a link for Owen - old mates connection, still an excellent scoring rate, don't think he's ever settled at News, plus would bring him closer to his raceyard? We need an out-and-out goalscorer, and they're extremely rare (or a gamble). Would take big wages - but if the clearout in Jan happens (Vogel, Roberts, Fowler, Moko) plus our fabled 'warchest', I'm sure it's worth a punt. Even with, or without, RSC - we need one quality forward rather than several makeweights, which sadly I think sums up our forwards (excluding RSC, if he ever gets fit and his mojo back). No doubt there will be loads of negativity, for the same reasons as Fowler, but IMO the lad is still hungry (especially the England issue) and his stats don't lie, even at clubs he's not in favour/settled at (Newc, Real Madrid). Probably the bulk of the budget would go on his wages, rather than a fee; we may be able to buy a 'target man' or someone could hold the ball up too (RSC replacement?)
bennyboyt11 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 i dont think i we will see Owen at ewood if it due to his high wages, at it might push the rest of the squad to start requesting larger contracts
Amo Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Owen's been at Newcastle for over three years and made only 50 apps. That's not good enough for a player earning £100,000+ a week from the fans' pockets.
Athlete Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 on rockfm news this morning City linked with both RSC + Warnock - surely we Rovers won't let 2 of our best players go again + replace them with what ????
