Maybe not  . But im going to ask him straight and if I can, im going to get it on video and upload it to youtube for you all to see. :D

BAD NEWS Iv just heard.

According to a guy I used to work with and who knows a few people well in at City, they are preparing a serious raid on us. They are desperate for Roque and they are going to make a big offer (although not big enough in my opinion).

If he is to believed then apparently Hughes is looking at Roque, Warnock & Samba and a £30m bid is "very likely". If they fail then apparently they are willing to pay between £18 - 20m for Roque alone. <_<

Well January looks like it'll be busy!

30million for Samba,Warnock and RSC. No thanks.

I'd do Rsc and Samba for 18million + Onouha + Elano.

I would not take Benjani after watching him against spurs.hamann is done, sturridge similar to derbs?

Spend the money on Kightly, and a striker(Mputu,Benetiz) or both!

Why would they want Samba? Firstly they have Dunne, Richards, Ben Haim and Kompany who all play/can play at centre back. Secondly, have they not watched some of his performances from this season? On his day he is a quality centre back but he can be inconsistent. Surely, with all their money, they could go out and find a better centre back.

If they want Santa Cruz I would ask for £20mil + Onuoha. And, if they really want him with the right offer, I would reluctantly get it done early on in the transfer so we don't have the Tottenham problem where they had no time to get an adeqaute replacement for Berbatov. If Santa goes it is definite hand in pocket time! Some of the money would have to go to a right winger as well if that is not already sorted.

Hughes knows he can get the best out of Samba but Samba would have to look at the options City have & ask himself is he gaurenteed a starting place like he is here! ....although if he was ambitious im sure he would go!!

In my view we have five players who we must hang onto at all costs in January.

Robinson, Warnock, Samba, Emerton and Roque. I would add Dunn to that category if we could keep him fit, and bearing in mind we wouldn't get much for him anyway.

Olsson is also starting to look very promising, but tbh you wouldn't be overly upset about losing anyone else out of the squad right now if the money was right.

Other than when it is time to pick a new manager this is one of the few occasions when the Chairman is really called upon to display his mettle.

If City are serious about breaking the top 4 then they are not going to sign the likes of Samba, RSC or Warnock.

They are going to sign top quality merchandise because as it stands not one of the named players are going to make this current City line up world beaters.

I cannot see Hughes forking out £30m for those players when City are not going to be top 4, jhc they are not even looking like a top 7 side even with the current players and the three Amigos from Ewood.

Am i the only one who wouldnt mind us loosing Samba, Nelsen and even allowed Simpson to fall to the bench? If we brought in Onouha and 2 good center backs. I would be willing to bet our defensive record would be far more improved...

Certainly if we got 4 million as rumoured from Spurs for Nelsen and 4-6 million for Samba. I think we could bring in far better options...

I know that my fellow Americans might slate me for this, (actually, I'm ready to slate myself because I'm not happy at how he left my San Jose Earthquakes) but why don't we see how Landon Donovan fares in his training sessions at Bayern and sent in a bid if there is no big competition? He has made a lot of noise about leaving MLS again and the Galaxy need to offload some wages. He could play on the right for us or at striker or in the hold, especially if Ince doesn't exercise the option on Carlos. The only sticking point would be the fee as I am sure that MLS would want more than the $10 Million that they got from Villarreal for Altidore, which I would not consider worth it under current exchange rates. Surely worth at least an invitation to train and an enquiry though.

We have two problems:

Ince is not fussed about losing the guts of the team he inherited from Hughes and so we are going to be a soft touch for raiding clubs looking for proven Premiership players to bolster their starting squads in January.

There is money to spend but there is little faith in Ince's ability to spend it.

Things have got to come to a head on the management front before the January window or Rovers are going to be in one hell of a mess trying to survive in the second half of the season. At least with the current squad, a decent manager would be sure to keep the Rovers in the Premier League.

How do you work all that out then?

Harry Redknapp is ready to rescue Richard Dunne from his Manchester City nightmare and bring him to Tottenham in January. (Daily Mirror)

Maybe another reason Hughes wants Samba.

What puzzles me about that report is what "nightmare" is Dunne having at City? When linked to transfers, "nightmare" usually means the player isn't getting games - however, Dunne is the club captain and player in all bar two of their games this season!

He might be playing like a nightmare (can't comment really as haven't watched City much), but that is not normally a reason for a player to be "rescued".

Hughesy, have you passed on chileandude's scouting reports to the chief yet? Would be interesting to see what they say. Would be funny if, in a month or so, there were reports of Blackburn making a move for Orellana.

Oh, and a think a loan move for Vela may not be an option anymore. If he doesn't get more first team game time at Arsenal something has gone wrong. As much as it pains me to say this but the kid is class, way better than Bendtner, and sometimes you just have to admire. Watch this if you haven't already seen it:

Philipl I do think the time is going to come very soon when you are going to have to reveal the sources for all your negative "tales from Ewood" You keep telling us there's little faith in Ince's ability to spend money. well, JW does the actual spending so presumably there'd have to be some agreement anyway. You keep saying Ince is not bothered about keeping the squad that he inherited and I haven't seen any real evidence of that either since there were supposed to be bids for Warnock and Santa Cruz and we didn't accept them and the only players we lost were those we couldn't keep. Bentley wanted out and Friedel was a freak situation where for whatever reason (a last crack at europe? an offer he couldn't refuse personally/ for his academy/ both) he decided to go. If you genuinely have a line to the board or the Trustees then tell us so. No need to go into detail. If it's just that like a lot of people you are putting 2 and 2 together and making assumptions from that, either from your financial background or from the same rumours as the rest of us hear, then could you stop talking as though what you have to say is fact.

Good Player. I like Beckerman from Real Salt lake, and obviously Adu who is on loan at Monaco. Similar to Villanueva though

1) Complete conjecture on your part and completely untrue.

2) See 1) above

3) See 1) and 2) above. There is no reason whatsoever to suggest Ince won't keep us in the Prem
