Iceman Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 why is it every year the same story... even when Hughes was in charge, the supporters could see we needed a creative midfielder, yet Hughes couldnt see it.... Now we have Ince in charge, and to be honest i think everybody on here would have been a better option as manager than Ince.. well except imy, theno and Philipl...lol no only joking its really worrying that Ince is allowed to continue, but im hoping that if we dont beat Pompey then the axe will surely have to fall on him...

tony gale's mic Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I like this website. It makes a point of how much rubbish is spouted by the press and how much should be believed. Interesting stat from there: The People are rock bottom of the league overall with just over 12% of rumours proving to be true, but when it comes to Rovers rumours they rocket upto 3rd, with over 27% of rumours proving to be true. Wonder if that has anything to do with nicko's contributions...

CrazyIvan Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Third to who? I will sue. Shame you can't actually look at stats per writer... That would make interesting reading!
67splitscreen Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Would't mind a few of these for Christmas. Bench Rotting talent
novella Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Giovinco is linked to west ham today isnt he. shame if he goes there.... he's a talent.
roverfanuk Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Nicko, do you reckon we can expect a squad clearout and bulk purchases during the transfer window? The more i look at it, the more i feel the likes of Gamst, Mokoena, Vogel, Reid etc are wasting money, and replacements should be found? Do you think we will be the most active club in the transfer market come January?
Hughesy Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Egyptian Impresses on Trial. Ince has also said that Pace is something they are really looking into getting in during the Jan transfer window.
Blueheart Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Really depends which division we are going to playing in !
CrazyIvan Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Really depends which division we are going to playing in ! I suggest in January that will still be the Premier League...
philipl Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Egyptian Impresses on Trial. Ince has also said that Pace is something they are really looking into getting in during the Jan transfer window. Which Pace from the Malta Premier League is that? (sorry, couldn't resist- Pace is a common surname here)

Do you think we will be the most active club in the transfer market come January? I think there could be four or five arrivals, maybe more. Departures? That would probably depend on who is fit. It could be a mad window. There are some clubs in trouble with money to spend - like Spurs and Stoke - and they could force the rest of the teams at the bottom to spend.
Fraserkirky Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I'd like to see something like this. Outs????? The Axe - 2million (Stoke?) Roberts - 2.5million (Stoke?) Derbs - 4million (West Brom) Fowler - Wherever. Oijer - 250k (pretty keen to go home by the sound of things) Simpson - go back to united and rot in there reserves. ins. Torosidis( Greek RB ) - 3million Egpytian winger name escapes me- 1millionish(not sure) Villaneuva - 5million permanant. Owen- 5million (perfect partner for RSC?? is he available) Appiah - Free(sorry to bash on about him,but he will sign for a premiership team. The guy is quality if he is fit) Norwegian CH - 1million
novella Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 i believe appiah has just changed agencies last week to help him find a new club. so chances are he'll find one in january. he must be fit again if he is on the look out for a club.
roverfanuk Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I'd like to see something like this. Outs????? The Axe - 2million (Stoke?) I wish Roberts - 2.5million (Stoke?) Worth more. Just signed new contract so never going to happen! Derbs - 4million (West Brom) Would rather sell Benni and Roberts first Fowler - Wherever. True Oijer - 250k Going to be rather difficult to get a fee considering his contract expires in the summer. Would rather hand a new 2 year deal and sell Nelsen personally! Simpson - go back to united and rot in there reserves. Agreed! ins. Torosidis( Greek RB ) - 3million Vasilis Torosidis Agreed. Would be a quality signing Egpytian winger name escapes me- 1millionish(not sure) Ahmed Al-Muhammadi - Sounds like he has done well. Why not for a low fee. Would want a experienced RM though additionally! Villaneuva - 5million permanant. Decision should not be made till end of season. Even though... 5 million is way too high! Owen- 5million (perfect partner for RSC?? is he available) - No! Just no! Huge wages, always injured... Would rather have Janko to partner Cruz! Appiah - Free - Huge wages, would like to come, but isnt going to happen! Norwegian CH - 1million - Tore Reginiussen? Seems like his signing is going happen. Fee is rumoured to be between 1-3 million though!
gazsimm Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 i very much doubt Owen will join Rovers, his wages and his never ending injurys will be enough to put rovers off.
Fraserkirky Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Thought I saw somewhere a fee of 2m for the axe and that stoke where very interested. Just get rid anyway, im sure there will be takers. I have faith in Benni, He's looked alot sharper in recent games. maybe it's just cause he's getting played outta postion but derbs has exactly been setting the heather alight, 4million good price. Oijer wants to go and will not sign a new deal. Is Torodinis not able to play right midfield as well? I have faith in Villaneuva but you're right a deal at the end of the season is more sensible, however will a deal still be exclusive to rovers? Ok Owen is a dream. Janko was a replacement for RSC was he not?
roverfanuk Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I have faith in Benni, He's looked alot sharper in recent games. Bear in mind he went AWOL for a year and a half as apposed to Derbs out of position btw! maybe it's just cause he's getting played outta postion but derbs has exactly been setting the heather alight, 4million good price. Stick by my statement. How can Derbs "set the heather alight out of position. Don't forget what he did vs Newcastle etc when played in position! Oijer wants to go and will not sign a new deal. --- http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11906_4454871,00.html Ok Owen is a dream. Is that a dream where he isnt injured all the time and doesnt cost 60-80k's a week!? Janko was a replacement for RSC was he not? No
Hughesy Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I cannot believe someone would want rid of McCarthy before Derbyshire - thats poor. 2 players, on 2 different levels. Derbyshire hasnt done anything, he young and has talent yes but he has so far failed to show much when given the chance. £4m is mega money for him! Although id still add in a % sell on clause in there too, just incase. Benni however has top pedigree and scored a bag full for us in his 1st season, im backing him to hit form. He is very determined to be the player he was again - surely thats only good news for us. What did Derbyshire do against Newcastle? Score a 1 on 1 chance! So he should of, hardly a class goal, just good timing for us.
92er Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Egyptian Impresses on Trial. Ince has also said that Pace is something they are really looking into getting in during the Jan transfer window. Is Pace a comedian to work with Ince?
John Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Ince has previously stated how he believes a lot of lower league players can make the grade in the Premiership. Wonder if he will raid the lower leagues in January (presuming he is still here). My question yesterday answered today here.
DasGelb Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 “We have to be realistic though. If you look at our spending we are the lowest in the Premier League and it has been a battle for years.” A battle for years? Didn´t Sparky take us to three consecutive top ten finishes with an extremely limited budget Incey?
92er Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 My question yesterday answered today here. It's the article that appeared in this morning's LT. To make another point. Oojer. Ince says he is a player he would like to keep beyond his current contrct. On Radio Lancs-"he played in the European Championship, he's a good defender and he's a leader" or words to that effect.
