[Archived] New Shirts - Still Umbro But What Colour?

Recommended Posts

Did anyone catch the Darlington game?

There shirts in red if you looked closely had loads of names on them. According to the commentators they had run a scheme for the fans to pay a tenner to have their name within the kit. Thought it was a lovely idea and looked really quite effective. Thought it was quite an ingenious money making scheme

United did a similar thing years ago with ex players names, not for me personally but a nice idea all the same.

Home kit should always be traditional but I dont mind them messing with the away jersey, anyone seen Marseille's away kit for next season, a red and black version of that would do me fine!

I thought that as well. Knowing my luck though I'd end up with my name in the armpit.

The actual style of the home shirt aint bad, alarming that as a so called Rovers fan he got the Blue half on the wrong side tho!

Three Things really quick...

Wolfsburg has a green and white halved shirt... not sure if betis has halves or just thick stripes ala Barca a few years ago.

What do you guys think about a truely halved shirt so the front would have the Blue side on the right and the back would have the blue side on the left.

as for the aways... keep it somewhat historical and its ok with me... except for those hideous orange ones. blackbrn.gif

The 1999-00 one was navy blue with a red stripe diagonally across it, not purple.

I thought it was dark shade of purple to be honest. We only played it about twice since it clashed with other teams. Seem to remember us playing Huddersfield in it, It's got to be one of our worst ever away kits.

Bring back the illuminous yellow!
