DP Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Will be there. A quick drink in the town centre and then over to the ground early as I'll be buying a ticket on the day. Looking forward to it, just hope it's better than my trip to West Ham the other week.

Jimmy Jupiter Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 A cult hero amongst the Reading fans is Robin Friday, winner of the clubs "Player of the Millennium" award. Friday was a very skillful center-forward who scored 55 goals in 135 appearances. He became legendary for his excesses both on and off the pitch, once on rounding a goalie, he stopped , turned flicked the v's at the keeper, before rolling the ball into the unguarded net. Picture of said incident, it's number 3 in the gallery.
Presty On Tour Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Picture of said incident, it's number 3 in the gallery. Anyone else browse at the miss wales compo gallery, i got a friend who's entered
cn174 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Thanks for that! Quality read! I'd never heard of this guy, but the more I read about him, the more I like him! When he signed for Cardiff the manager asked why they wanted such a small fee for him - and his response was - "You'll See!" His biography - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Greatest-Footballe...0011&sr=8-1

budha Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Blackburn Rovers (unconfirmed): Friedel; Ooijer, Warnock, Nelsen, Khizanishvili; Dunn, Reid, Bentley, Gamst Pedersen, McCarthy, Roberts. Subs: Brown, Emerton, Tugay, Vogel, Derbyshire. Suggests the Reading website..
ally Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 i suppose the only blessing that the axe isnt starting either Ooops, just seen the reading site and it says emerton isnt on the bench and mokoena is instead! Apparently Santa Cruz is fit and starts up front with Jason Roberts so it is: Blackburn Rovers (unconfirmed): Friedel; Ooijer, Warnock, Nelsen, Khizanishvili; Dunn, Reid, Bentley, Gamst Pedersen, Santa Cruz, Roberts. Subs: Brown, The axe, Tugay, Vogel and Derbyshire No place for McCarthy in the 16!!
joey_big_nose Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Blackburn Rovers (unconfirmed): Friedel; Ooijer, Warnock, Nelsen, Khizanishvili; Dunn, Reid, Bentley, Gamst Pedersen, McCarthy, Roberts. Subs: Brown, Emerton, Tugay, Vogel, Derbyshire. Suggests the Reading website.. Interesting lineup. Great to see Nelsen back, hope he is fully fit. I would like to see Emerton and Vogel get a run out.
Craigman Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Only 1 change. Nelsen in for Samba Vogel on bench From Rovers Text
hollowsr Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 They got it wrong first time- Santa cruz is fit no Benni in the 16!! Friedel, ooijer, nelsen, zurab, warnock, bentley, dunn, reid, gamst, santa cruz and roberts. bench- brown, mokoena, vogel, tugay, derbyshire
ally Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Haha, the reading website doesnt know whats going on!! It says tugay and not McCarthy. Must be: Blackburn Rovers (confirmed): Friedel; Ooijer, Warnock, Nelsen, Khizanishvili; Dunn, Reid, Bentley, Gamst Pedersen, Santa Cruz, Roberts. Subs: Brown, The Axe, McCarthy, Vogel, Derbyshire
krislu Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I reckon it's too early for Nelsen, might bite us in the arse this one..
McClarky Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Great to see Nelsen back and also great to see Zurab keeping his place because he's been superb since he came in the side. I hope Nelsen is back to his best because if he isn't I would play Oojer and Zurab together on current form. Presume Emerton is still injured. Confident of a win today.
1864roverite Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Interesting choice of NO Tugay. Reading are pretty rapid with Harper in midfield, hope someone keeps up with him.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Big day today for Rovers as they need the win, and a big day for Nelsen. Will be interesting to see Vogel coming on sometime in the second half.
Mr. E Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 can't we somehow play all Benni, Roberts and Santa? Maybe put Benni behind the strikers in place of MGP? Because I don't know how long he'll be willing to stay if we keep him on the bench...
Rovers in America Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Wow, Clattenburg has given Rovers a PK in each of his last 5 times to man our matches.

AggyBlue Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Ref is Clattenburg. He's given us a penalty in each of the last five games he's reffed us.
AggyBlue Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Wow, Clattenburg has given Rovers a PK in each of his last 5 times to man our matches. You must be watching the same stream as me
