Pakistani nutters corrupted by the teachings of Islam. We have and still are importing these dangerous fanatics and many people over here have become afraid to even make critical comment in public.

Absolutely incredible to think that we have welcomed this religion to the UK with open arms. "It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre."

Did you hear they're broadcasting the call from Ramadan prayer on CH4 for the duration of the holiday Theno? Great stuff imo, multiculturalism being done successfully :tu:

http://freethinker.co.uk/2009/12/11/you-cant-call-the-islamic-call-to-prayer-a-noise-or-a-nuisance%E2%80%99-says-muslim-leader/

"Earlier this year there were cries of “persecution” from Christians in London when Noise Abatement Notices were served on two churches – the All Nations Centre in Kennington and the Immanuel House of Worship Church in Walthamstow.

In the latter case the notice was slapped on the church following a single complaint from a Muslim living nearby.

According to this report, an environmental health enforcement officer told the pastor that the church had to keep the noise down so as not to offend Muslims living in the area. He said:

"This is a Muslim borough; you have to tread carefully."

I'm all for multiculturalism, DE, it's a good thing. We just need to emphasise the "multi" part.

We can cherry pick stories all day long Stuart, I'm sure both sides have plenty of tales of persecution to tell. Some true, some not. Multiculturalism isn't perfect but the most obvious danger is taking one story or one ruling and then applying it to a broad spectrum when in reality it's a confined incident.

I find that relations between cultures are generally a lot better in this part of England than most parts of the North. In the time I lived around Rochdale I found some of the racism on both sides to be absolutely shocking. I've not seen the likes of it anywhere else, and it's sad because a lot of it seemed pointless and petty.

I work and spend most of my time in London, Gordon, a little more ethnically diverse there.

Interesting that you took the time to go and check that though

Jon Venables - one of the boys that murdered James Bulger - set to be released from prison... three years after he was caught accessing child porn whilst on parole.

I don't know what to say. How has this decision been reached?

Unlike Thompson, who as far as we know has been rehabilitated and never reoffended, the system patently hasn't worked for Venables and I don't give it long before he's back behind bars. I'm sure the angry mob are already sharpening their pitchforks for his release, upon which some poor sap who loosely resembles the guy will get his head kicked in thanks to the morons who leaked those images online.

That attitude to me is the single biggest reason that practically nothing has been done to deal with the negative impacts of mass immigration. Relations are a lot better where you live because there's barely anyone to integrate. 4% S Asian in Ipswich, 31% and rising extremely rapidly in Blackburn. It was about 4% in Blackburn in the 1950s, and I'm sure relations were a lot better here then as well.

If its pointless and petty then why does it happen, because its fun? Its far from pointless and petty in my opinion, its the damaging results of mixing 2 cultures poles apart. The native residents of one of the most advanced, increasingly atheist, liberal and tolerant countries in the world being mixed with people from rural towns and villages in one of the most impoverished, conservative, fervently religious and intolerant areas of the world. And the reason people get angry is because geographical logic, the pursuit of progress and weight of numbers should be causing the second culture to adapt to adapt to the values of the first. Instead the values of the first are being eroded and ignored to satisfy the culture of the second.

And the reason is fear. Make any comment against Muslims in this country and you'll be attacked by influential white groups who live in areas totally ignorant to the effects of mass immigration. Do you think northerners have always been inherently more racist than southerners? Cause if not then the fact they appear to be so now so clearly isn't petty, there's an actual reason for it.

I think I read in the LT this morning that just 65% of BwD residents are of English origin now. If so and given that Darwen is not as popular with people of Asian descent then the figure from within the boundaries of Blackburn itself will be significantly lower. Small wonder that resentment has occured is it?

Police reopening the Maddie McCann case.

The evidence has been slapping Scotland Yard in the face since 2007 but no doubt they'll be sniffing after another phantom kidnapper.

The various cadaver traces detected in the McCann's apartment, in their hire car, on their clothing, on Maddie's toy.

The fact there was no sign of the windows being "jemmied" or forced open, no other forensic evidence (fingerprints, footprints) of a disturbance.

The fact there was, according to Gerry McCann's story, only a minute "window of opportunity" for the kidnapper.

The fact the McCanns have altered their version of events that night more than once, and the conflicting accounts of what happened.

The fact Kate McCann refused to answer 48 police questions.

The fact Gerry McCann was caught laughing his ass off only a few days after his daughter had been "abducted".

The fact when most young children go missing it usually points to someone they know.

And this is only for starters.

I knew all of that but it's shocking seeing it all listed out. Quite why/how they were ruled out as suspects, I don't know.

Very careful and pragmatic media manipulation, primarily.

Not saying they're guilty but there's no question they should have been investigated far more thoroughly.
