Lathund Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I think we'll see a comfortable 2-0 win for Liverpool. At best we might snatch a low-scoring draw. My one hope was that their tough schedule (Man U, Arsenal x3, Everton) recently would affect them, but I don't think it will. As usual I hope I'm wrong though

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Interesting stat in yesterdays paper, we haven't beaten any of the teams currently in the top ten this season in the league ! Can't see that changing today.
adopted scouser Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Reina Arbeloa - Carragher - Skirtel - Aurelio Alonso - Lucas Kuyt - Gerrard - Babel Torres Looks like they are taking our little club seriously then.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I'm probably going to watch the first half and see how we get on. I'm not feeling that optimistic at all.
rover6 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 In the good old days of Souey, we'd beat the best and collapse abysmally against the downright trash. A bit like Southgate's Boro.
mjs Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Interesting stat in yesterdays paper, we haven't beaten any of the teams currently in the top ten this season in the league ! Can't see that changing today. Man City at home?
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 A lot of Pool fans on the 606 boards are wondering if Bentley will play today. That spanish pundit Guilherme something has said Liverpool have signed a player that will move in the summer who is english and plays on the right side of midfield. I highly doubt its Bentley, and surely if they made such a move it could be a case of tapping a player up.
Mozzer Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 liverpool team is Reina, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Skrtel, Carragher, Lucas, Alonso, Gerrard, Babel, Kuyt, Torres still a pretty strong squad.. one change for blackburn.. emerton in for ooijer.. dunn on the bench.. http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...1287276,00.html
Lurid Coat Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Ugh, I'd much rather prefer Ooijer instead of Samba alongside Nelsen.
JAL Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 What we need is someone to go and get stuck in to Gerrard simple as, and then both centre halves to intimidate Torres on the pitch only thing is i dont think we have anyone who can do it. If Rovers could or can do those two things the platform for victory is set?
philipl Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Interesting stat in yesterdays paper, we haven't beaten any of the teams currently in the top ten this season in the league ! Can't see that changing today. Great news then- City have dropped out of the top ten!
Tango Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Shocking dive that by Gerrard, how Wiley hasn't booked him I don't know.
Exiled_Rover Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 They don't punish attacking players for cheating.
Russ Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Shocking dive that by Gerrard, how Wiley hasn't booked him I don't know. definitely, he's clearly kicked his right foot out sideways into friedel and played for it all the way.
andrew92 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 roberts onside, gerrard was never a pen anyway, skertl horrible tackle on reid, wat are the scouse p****s complaing for, they could argue that samba's was a foul but thats it!!
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Watching this match is it feels like a death by 1000 cuts. We have totally lost the midfield battle, Bentley can't really get into the game because of a packed 5 man midfield. It feels only a matter of time before Liverpool score. What a pathetic dive by Gerrard. Though he deserved a free kick and Samba could have been sent off for last man an incident after it.
USABlue Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Now correct me if I am wrong but isn't there a clamp down on dissent? So why are Liverpool players being allowed to throw tantrums and argue every decision going against them.

I think we could do with switching Reid and Bents back around for the second half - nice try but it's not working. Need Reid's steel in the centre and Bents as an outlet on the right.
James No. 7 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Should be 1-0, Roberts wasn't offside. One of the commentators was arguing it was offside by virtue of Rovers having a player offside (even though they were clearly not contravening PIG).
chocky Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 We are not doing too badly...that offside rule needs reviewing...fook me...Just need to learn to keep the ball and we would be making a game of it...
Mr. E Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 i missed the first 30 mins but we seemed to be playing ok after that, even game.

Need Reid's steel in the centre and Bents as an outlet on the right. I think we are going to have to change something, whilst we aren't looking shaky at the back it will be a tall order for us to keep Liverpool at bay for another 45 mins. We are losing midfield and in particular Gerrard is getting far too much space and time on the ball. I agree with Russ, i would look at moving Bentley onto the right, get him to whip some balls into the box or behind their back line. Roberts shouldn't of been given offside and the other talking point was it was no way a penalty to Gerrard. He moved his leg into the way of Friedal as Brad tried to get out of the way. Second incident, Samba could have been sent off and Liverpool should of got a freekick outside the area.
Shevchenko Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 What a pathetic dive by Gerrard. Though he deserved a free kick and Samba could have been sent off for last man an incident after it. Agreed. IMO, Gerrard should have been booked for unsportsmanlike conduct when taking the dive, during replays you can clearly see that he's starting to fall when Friedel get to him. He's seeking contact. Samba's challenge was clumsy and really should have been a free kick. And probably a straight red. Samba was veeery lucky there. Crap game so far, we've got no outlet when we have the ball. Poor movement, poor passing, no confidence to play really.
andrew92 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 ohhh im getting mad, lol why do sky concentrate on only ther decisions, roberts scored a perfectly legal goal, i accept reina stopped but that dosent change that the assistant was wrong!!
