colin Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 You don't need to live in a flood plain to have your house near destroyed . All you need is a neighbour to leave their bath running all day while you (and they) are having a nice afternoon out . (It can be a bit of a shock to open your front door and be hit by a wave I can tell you ....) Blimey, that sounds like a bit of a bad one. Sounds like a really bad experiance. Sorry to hear about that. But just to reiterate, contents insurance is a bit of a gamble, I'm considering gambling and putting my monthly payments into an acount to keep the money. If I decide to do it I may regret it.
Cheshireblue Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 All insurance is a gamble. It's all a waste of money until you come to claim. Alternatively Colin, you could in fact claim every year on your contents policy, but only up to the value of your premium, that way you get your money back every year but have the comfort of knowing it's there if you need it?
