All i am saying is that as we are officially up fopr sale I would like to see some activity, as i said i dont want a shinawatra or ashley but a bit of excitement would be nice (not counting what is currently going on on the pitch)

Blackburn is a club that is continuely associated with the promoted clubs & strugglers even though, outside the big 4, we are probably one of the most successfull!!

Personally I'm happy where we are, I don't like the "for sale" sign but I trust our current owners to run the club in a sensible fashion and I'm glad they are setting the bar high. If that means we can't push on to the next level so be it.

Hopefully a couple of these billionaires will get bored of their toys and leave them in the lurch. Pompey sound like they've been stung by their dodgy sugar daddy losing a load of cash. However, if we stay in our current situation, I hope a salary cap will be introduced. People hide behind EU laws, but I believe the Super League has one. Obviously this needs to be introduced in other leagues too, otherwise all our good players will go to Spain or whatever.

You are right of course, as i reckon the bubble will burst with these billionaire owners & they will leave alot of clubs high & dry. However, a little excitement would be great, i'd like to see Rovers in the paper a bit more & more than 2 minutes on motd! Im tried of supporters of clubs like newcastle & tottenham looking down on 'inferior' Blackburn even though we consistantly out perform them!!

I kind of share that view OscarRaven, why when all your competitors are in serious debt why bail out now when things look like unfolding were bargains will be there to be had, sure Rovers have to look at reducing their own debt and balance it out with some astute accuisitions that should strengthen the business further whilst your competitors flounder.

The complete shambles of two current competitors Tottenham and Newcastle brings things into sharp focus with Rovers, these two have offered Rovers an opportunity to progress so hopefully this moment of opportunity will be siezed upon by the club and we take full advantage of their misfortune.

Paul Inces ability to recruit quality players whose values could double in value over a short period of time has to be key in all of this and when he makes mistakes they have to corrected as soon as is possible.

A substantially rich Asian would benefit the club in the short, medium and long term. Why I hear you ask? Well here goes:

Against Fulham, we had 11,000 empty seats. I do not see how these can currently be filled by Rovers fans, even with all the offers we put on. Potentially an Asian owner could fill these seats as I believe the Asian population of Blackburn and possibly Preston, Accrington, Burnley would attend.

The birth rate of the Asian population is far out growing the white population in Blackburn. Therefore, if the Asians in Blackburn continue to support Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal…..what will become of Blackburn Rovers in 40 years time? Our crowds can only diminish as we currently only have 30+/- Asian season ticket holders. Therefore, it is imperative that the Asian population start to support their town team; or i really fear for it.

I spoke to an Asian taxi driver a few weeks ago and he said that the Multi Failth Room would bring more fans in. However, it did not really matter yet as their praying times do not coincide with the 3pm kick-off. In Winter they may require the use of it. On another note, he was born and bred in Blackburn but supported Birmingham.

So basically what you're saying is that we've no chance of attracting "Asian" support unless it's a fellow Asian who owns the club .

So much for integration - even now that we're into the third generation . So much for us all being British .

On a seperate note others have mentioned the "Asians" love of cricket . Can someone tell me how they manage to bat , bowl and field for hours on end without recourse to praying ? Or why they can't do so for a shorter period of time at Ewood ?

No offence , mate , but I reckon this taxi driver bloke was winding you up a bit .....

Come on, you are the one who is permanently wound up.

Just making a couple of valid points that most people in the town would agree have validity .

As someone who hasn't set foot near Ewood for decades would you care to make a few counter arguments ?

You stick to TV on the box , Philip ; leave the problems of Blackburn and its club to those of us who live here .

We certainly not doing to bad hey, without a billionaire owner. The important question is, for how long can we continue doing well, when everybody around us keeps getting richer and richer.

Phil dont you think that is slightly harsh comment to make? Doesnt mean you live in Blackburn, that those who havent been to Ewood or lives there, shouldnt be concerned or voice an opinion about the club

No need to repeat yourself , Iceman ......

....and I would welcome any constructive comments from our Maltese friend on the subject of why after three generations the "Asians" in Blackburn still have zilch amount of feeling for anything in this town that doesn't have their backward religion appendaged to it like a cancer .

I feel it's natural that those who live here are more qualified to comment on the subject but I'm open to be persuaded otherwise .......

You're heading for the "naughty corner" again. You're obsession is really getting in the way of cogent discussion.

*****

I, for one, would prefer not to be bought by some foreign multi-millionaire. I don't particularly want Rovers to be some kind of money-spinning play thing for a massive ego.

Apart from Randy Learner at Villa & possibly Fulham I would suggest that all the takeovers have been unmitigated disasters.

Glaziers at The Scum are milking them dry and have dropped them into debt. Not that it was a local football club in the first place.

Ditto Liverpool

Manchester City have become a plaything for people who spend more money before breakfast than you or I will earn in a lifetime.

Newcastle United. A Nigerian consortium & Mike Ashley

Portsmouth are maybe up for grabs.

Chelsea sold their soul to Abramovich years ago. If he goes, the club will die.

Spuds are offering their sorry vaseline-d bottoms to anyone who will wave some money

That bloke who owns Leicester.

And the complete prat at Hearts.

I'd rather stay with the trustees.

.

Have you asked "most people" because you seem to think you speak for "most people" all the time ?

Or is it "most people" in the Blackburn branch of the BNP ?

You're a bore Enoch.

"They" always speak for "most" people. It's a shame these people never come out at election time otherwise the BNP would do quite well :)

It's an attempt to gain credibility. If you say to others that "most" people share your particular viewpoint, they might be more inclined to agree.

:)

I think you actually need to justify that opinion with some rational comments rather than to make the statement and invite people to argue against it.

You'll need to do something a bit more substantial than "I feel it's natural......"
