bob fleming Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I think this is a pointless thread, maybe we should be valued the same as Woolworth's You can stick all the coaching staff in the Pick N Mix.

Exiled in Toronto Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I knew this up for sale business would bite us in the bum. Can you imagine the interviews: Laudrup/Fat Sam/Sir Alf: 'Can you outline the owners goals for the club over the medium to long-term?' Williams: 'They want to sell up ASAP' L/FS/SA: 'Err, OK then. So how long would I be given to implement my own ideas?' Williams: 'No effin idea mate. We could all be on the dole the next day.' L/FS/SA: Thank you. I'll see myself out.
RevidgeBlue Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 About three years ago I was speaking to a Solicitor who used to act for Jack Walker and he predicted that something similar to what is happening now would occur and that in fact Rovers and the Dingles would end up swapping places. I thought this was too fantastic to even contemplate at the time but his reasoning was that whereas Burnley had real leadership, commitment, direction and a sense of purpose in the Boardroom, we had none of that in the wake of Jack passing away and the subsequent arrangements.

At this moment were Burnley are in the Championship and were we are in the Premiership it is a likely scenario, and MK Dons have a good chance of promotion to the Championship so Ince could be up against his old club, but as long as we don't play like Bolton Wanderers !
Amo Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I think some fans don't realize the Dingles visit here. They must be having the time of their lives reading that... * We want their manager to get us out of the ######. * We should sign Chris Eagles to replace Bentley. * We've been told we will someday swap places with them. Come on, people. Let's have some bloody dignity here.

Didnt we give Ince a 4-5 year deal. So any of those managers would have had time to implement their ideas...?
gillibrand Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 No idiot is going to give a manager with no experience a 5 year contract without some get out clause, people say JW is a canny business man?

I think even the thickest of managers realise that new owners usually means a P45 for the incumbent manager, regardless of length of contract
gillibrand Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 What new owners, oh look a pink elephant just flew over Ewood!
Billy Castell Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Are we being taken over by a pink elephant? The food bills will be huge. And I'd hate to clean the toilets.
roverfanuk Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Are we being taken over by a pink elephant? The food bills will be huge. And I'd hate to clean the toilets. Id be more concerned with bringing a unbrella if it's going to be flying over Ewood on matchday!
CrazyIvan Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Are we being taken over by a pink elephant? The food bills will be huge. And I'd hate to clean the toilets. What do pink elephants eat anyway? How about Ince's book of tactics?
Billy Castell Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 What do pink elephants eat anyway? How about Ince's book of tactics? Elephants eat masses of food, not a single sheet of paper!

Billy Castell Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Jan, Judging by the recent results I think the word sounds like 'shoot'............................

Grabbi Graeme Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 As long as this guy doesn't try to buy us apparently he wanted to change Chester City's name to Harchester. Chester City bid rejected.
roverfanuk Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Nicko, is their any glimer of a takeover on the horizon? Any snipped of info you can give us to brighten our otherwise gloomy outlook?
EwoodGlory Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Doe's anyone know who Souness was involved with when he was linked to a takeover of Wolves? Just wondered who they we're and if they are still looking for a club. I think there offer was around £20m, a lot less than the trustees want for us, for now anyway. "There has been quite a lot of interest in the opportunity to acquire control of Wolves and confidential discussions have taken place with a number of potential investors," said chief executive Jez Moxey. "Last week another party, which included Graeme Souness, tabled a written proposal. I don't envision any interest in Rovers whatsoever until our league status is determined.

Brian Kennedy, wealthy chap and owner of Sale Sharks, was the main money man of that group. However that was two years ago and I believe he is now more interested in other projects apart from football.
