I posted the link as many may feel that was a lucky escape. As was the JJB executive link as that individual has also had significant problems recently.

many may feel! ffs stop trying justify your obssession

it was never going to happen as i and others posted at the time, he does not have the resources to buy BRFC

I don't have to justify my obsession with such an important issue. It's not a question of whether they had the resources just a retrospective link indicating that those particular takeovers (the property route and former JJB CEO) may not have worked out too well.

Both those men had the resources but the Walkers quoted them different prices instead of sticking to a fixed fee as they should.

not takeovers vinjay, just speculation, when or if there is a takeover the club will announce it, that may not be to your liking but hey guess what! it's not your club

They admitted they were interested so how much more fact can you get?

I would like to make it official that I am interested in buying BRFC, the club that I have supported since 1965 FACTS, that gives me more chance than the other 2 chancers you refer to

So what if the club didn't confirm it? That's not the club's policy to comment on potential bidders. The bidders confirmed their bids and reportedly had seperate prices quoted which suggests the Walkers are more interested in auction than fixed price.

how niave!

before a potential bidder has the required info from the club/trust to make a valuation, they will have had to sign a non disclosure document which would include not disclosing the value of bids

those 2 obviously did not get past 1st base

Alan Nixon said they were quoted separate prices. The property individual definitely submitted a bid (he was quoted as saying this) but it was a few million short of what the owners wanted.

The other individual may not have made an offer but he was quoted a price. He did however confirm his interest both to Nixon and BRFC supporter Michael Taylor. (who runs a business publication)

So you're saying Nixon lied then? He might have something to say about that accusation. Though of course he was accused of being PR man for Dan Williams and any takeover since then so he's used to unfounded accusations.

My first post on this thread today was a perfectly legitimate question whether anybody situated themselves in the executive area yesterday. After all 1864 Roverite found out about that rumour the other week by being in the right place to hear it. So far nobody has explained why they keep saying there's no takeover offers when there's been a rumour (Exiled in Toronto is the one person other than me who has bothered to take note of this) in recent weeks. A rumour that may lead to nothing but it shows there is interest. Yet you continue to say that's not the case.

Rumours mean absolutely nothing Vinjay. You should know that.

That particular rumour proved there is interest though even if they are "tyre kickers" according to Nixon's club sources. Yet people continue to claim there's no interest despite clear evidence to the contrary.
