yoda Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 So who is the corporate advisor referenced in your view then if it's not Rothschilds? (which is quite obviously is to most people) not on my list of things to know, the trust can look after themselves and BRFC perfectly well
67splitscreen Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Vinjay is it possible to put a thread on ignore.
PAFELL Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I live within 30 miles of blackburn (Lancaster). The simple (sad) truth is that 90% of people around here support Man Utd or Liverpool. 99% of who have no reason to support that club other than they are near the top of the table. They dont even sell Blackburn shirts in any of the local sports shops. Nearest place I can get one is in Preston and thats a struggle. Were never going to compete when we have Liverpool, Man U, Man City and Everton within half an hours drive. Young kids dont care about supporting local teams, they want the glory teams. That is the same as scarves . hats etc etc. When I was in Blackburn for the pompey game I noticed the article in the LET about the area being a divided town with regards to different ethnic groups. If that is the case it is not surpirising if some don't support Rovers. If they do not feel accepted etc in the town, why would they want to support its football team? The parents tell their children that they are not accepted in this town and this is passed on to generation after generation. Ironically if there is a divide as is reported and this could be broken down, I believe Rovers attendance would be increased. Rovers promoting of the club is not good at all, after all they are only one of twenty prem clubs, so you would think they would do more. Makes you wonder why this is not done.
67splitscreen Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Yes it is. Don't read it. Ah, but in a few years time I might miss something interesting regarding Rovers.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 A few more years without a takeover will only lead to relegation. The Walkers have had a warning but will they learn from it? Of course not and we will see that with more poor funding this summer (outside the potential Cruz funds) A few more years is too long. I will consider it a colossal disappointment if the club isn't taken over this summer.
ABBEY Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 good god the i love vinjay by vinjay continues ,time for the ignore button again.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Oh I'm sorry have I not posted enough in the parochial thread this evening? Funny everytime I refresh the main page (not the thread because I haven't read it though I did click on it by accident earlier) the new posts are abbey, abbey, abbey...oh and abbey. Sorry for focusing on an important subject that's relevant to BRFC's future not outdated, small minded, parochial obsessions.
bob fleming Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Vinjay - Pre Season 2012/13 - Stlll no sign of a takeover.
stuwilky Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I will consider it a colossal disappointment if the club isn't taken over this summer. I'll bet you 100 English pounds that you will be disappointed.

Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Do you get off with this obsessive, small minded chanting you and the parochial brigade go on about non stop? I suppose you get off on running the club down comparing it endlessly to lesser opposition? Let's not talk up the club let's run it down into the gutter because we all suffer from a parochial inferiority complex. Troll? I tell the truth that's all I'm guilty of doing. What do you stand for? Hypocrisy and lies.
Exiled in Toronto Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I'll bet you 100 English pounds that you will be disappointed. Approximately equal to what the Trust puts in these days If they invest what is required over the summer to maintain our status, and the value of their asset, then I think we can live with the disappointment. If, however, they stay true to their stance of the last 3 years, there'll be a lot more than Vinjay disappointed come kick-of day.
stuwilky Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I tell the truth that's all I'm guilty of doing. Well, apart from on the matter of who owns the club. And given the subject matter that you post on, its kind of important. But hey, don't let facts get in the way. Approximately equal to what the Trust puts in these days Nicely done EiT.

But hey, don't let facts get in the way. Nicely done EiT. I have no doubt Fred Walker could exercise authority over his own fortune. I have no doubt the family have a say as long as he's still alive. It's his money.

Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I know the mentality prior to the 90's and I know the mentality in the 90's. Including changes in rivals but of course you deny that even though Peter White's quote (below) sums up the real truth. Was he a liar then?
stuwilky Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I have no doubt Fred Walker could exercise authority over his own fortune. I have no doubt the family have a say as long as he's still alive. It's his money. I concur. But we are owned by the trustees of JACK Walker. Or as I believe their official title is; The Jack Walker Jersey Settlement.
ABBEY Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 god bless peter white but i dont care what he wrote burnley have and always will be our rivals oh troll .You dont change rival just like you dont change your teams.Mind you nothing you type surprise me.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Strange that nobody seemed to criticise White at the time isn't it? I haven't changed rivals. It's the hypocrites who have done that. Like you.

Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I can speak for how the majority of the fanbase felt. Of course there might have been a few small minded individuals scattered round who still considered lower league clubs relevant. I did hear the odd mention of them (the championship side) now and again in the 90's but generally in dismissive terms.
