[Archived] Rovers Takeover Thread

Recommended Posts

A few more years without a takeover will only lead to relegation. The Walkers have had a warning but will they learn from it? Of course not and we will see that with more poor funding this summer (outside the potential Cruz funds)

A few more years is too long. I will consider it a colossal disappointment if the club isn't taken over this summer.

Get ready to be disappointed big time!

I don't get ready to be disappointed because my motto has always been "think big" and I have faith in this club getting what it requires. Of course the perverted "think small" brigade will always step forward to challenge that. Can't have the club getting a bit too big now can we? Let's drag it down into the gutter alongside the rest of the town. Can't look up to it as the symbol of excellence in the area.

As far as I know the trust contains the entire Walker fortune.

The truth being of course that you do not KNOW anything - like the rest of us.

You do not know that Fred is even involved with the JACK WALKER JERSEY SETTLEMENT. Especially whether he has none/some/all of his money involved in it.

Do you get off with this obsessive, small minded chanting you and the parochial brigade go on about non stop?

I suppose you get off on running the club down comparing it endlessly to lesser opposition? Let's not talk up the club let's run it down into the gutter because we all suffer from a parochial inferiority complex.

Troll? I tell the truth that's all I'm guilty of doing. What do you stand for? Hypocrisy and lies.

OMG Vinge, can you stop using the word parochial in every other post?

And whether you feel you are right or not in your quest for takeover information, if you are trying to alienate yourself to everyone on here you are going the right way about it.

Two words for you: David Icke

I have read much on this thread for awhile. I consider you are being hypercritical with regards to other people posting on here. They are not thinking small, but are being realistic. I do believe that there is not one Rovers supporter who does not want Rovers to be mega succsessful on and off the pitch. What others are doing is facing reality as it is NOW. We all know it takes millions to become a mega successful club and Rovers are not in that position. Until things change we can only support the club as it is and live in hope for better things. I remember the bad times for the club and so can be grateful for what Rovers are now.

When the day arrives that somebody takes over the club from the Walker trust who has millions to splash, then hopes and dreams will change with this change - but until then it can only be a dream and nothing more. Rovers have lived the dream, they have won the prem, they are still in the prem and in someways are still living the dream of being in the prem.

Therefore it is utter pointless getting obsessed with regards to the hope for a takeover and in the prosess alienating other people who post on this board.

I call it parochial because that's exactly what the general mentality is.

I didn't start this argrument. It was Yoda who brought up the tradition thread and rivalry which provoked me into a response.

If you and Yoda were at school the teacher would have banged your heads together by now!

I have kept takeover matters mainly to this thread certainly in the last few days. It's not my responsibility if people choose to read it.

Talking about it is like therapy. I can't just ignore and keep it to myself. I would become even worse if I sat back and said nothing like I did in 2004 before joining here in 2005.

If I don't talk about it the most miserable I'll be. All I'm trying to do is discuss the takeover situation positively.

I don't need to use capital letters to get my point across. I can manage that just fine without resorting to that.

I have tried to keep everything on topic in the past couple of days. I was warned and blocked from posting briefly but because of Yoda this has all started up again.

Fred has his own business interests. Stanley House for one. Or do you expect him to sell his own businesses to fund your dream?

No comment here Vinjay?

Why because I refuse to meet the small minded mentality requirements the admins have imposed on posters?

No, because you seem to repeat the same mantra over and over and over and over and over and over and over ad infinitum on a seemingly increasing number of threads, no matter the topic of the thread.

Because you are slowely making the entire messageboard unreadable and its small minded and selfish of you to impose your opinion on others when so many posters disagree with you, and in many occasions shown you to be flat out wrong.

I was a member of this board under a different username when you were banned years ago and since then it has slowely become a very enjoyable and informed place for sensible and thought out discussion. Sadly since you returned it has become infantile and purile.

There was a film called Curly Top staring Shirley Temple as the spunky lovable rascal Elizabeth made in 1935. Here are a few lines -

Elizabeth

"Oh, my duck does a wonderful trick. My duck can lay an egg. "

Mrs. Higgins

"And just what is so wonderful about that? "

Elizabeth

"Well, can *you* lay an egg? (pause). . . Oh, excuse me."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edward Morgan

"How would you like it if you and I got to be very, very good friends? "

Elizabeth

"I don't think I would like it, sir."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs. Higgins

"Child, you're absolutely uncontrollable. "

Elizabeth

"Yes, Ma'am!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elizabeth

"I like to make things to eat, and I especially like to eat them."

Are VJ and our Shirl related? I think we should be told..........

So Vinjay I am confused here and hope you will clear this up. You want the club to be taken over and readapt the 'think big' mantra you are chanting like a bee buzzing but surely if this happened it would not be in Jacks spirit or way of thinking?

It seems you assume that the people who took control of the club would adapt to Jacks ideas and views, but lets be honest here you do not know if this is going to be the case or not, so how are you going to react when despite having millions they say Chelsea would be our rivals due to the ideas they have set on being a massive club and not Utd? Would you adapt this as it is part of THEIR think big and not Jacks?

Anyway I want to get out before I waffle but all I want to is to see my team that I care about do well and the players in the shirt wanting to be there. Its not big but its honest all the same.

What takeover - there isn't one happening - apart from in your own mind - so nothing to discuss.

Not disagreeing with your disagreeing with Vinjay but us supporters decide who our rivals are. Not Sky Sports and not the club's owners past, present and future!
