Rover95 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 We should make him pay us to leave, if the bids we get arent enough, he has to 'top' the bid up with his own money Somebody should put your sig up in the dressing room......

Taggart Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Alan, nice article in the mirror - however a couple of points, if he is a star and was dazzling against Valencia - what interest would he have other than money and the premier league to come to Rovers, fighting relegation and with limited resource and funds ? or are the premier league and money enough for this guy who is valued at 7million - thats a big spend for our board me thinks !
roversmum Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Somebody should put your sig up in the dressing room...... There is a large poster in the dressing room with Muhammed Ali on it pointing out winners are made from something they have inside them, a dream, a desire, a vision...last minute stamina...a little faster...the skill and the will... above their shirts a poster saying "we're all in this together" and another that I have on my phone but can't read - basically setting out the duties of strikers, midfielders and defenders. Plenty of room for Shabani's poster get it printed, lad.
LeChuck Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 what interest would he have other than money and the premier league to come to Rovers Very odd question. 99% of our current squad are here on that basis. They are the only reasons for virtually every player that moves from abroad to England. It doesn't mean they won't come and try their best.

Which fraction of which player isn't here for that reason? the bit of dunny that's fit?
philipl Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I see the LT are speculating that Roque's return visit to the German specialist could result in a second lariscopy operation on the same knee.
thenodrog Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I see the LT are speculating that Roque's return visit to the German specialist could result in a second lariscopy operation on the same knee. Sounds like thats that then. Obviously missed a few bits of shrapnel first time around. Strangely given the entire thing is monitored and recorded by camera it's relatively common with that type of op. I had such surgery last year and the consultant explained at great length prior to the op that he might miss whatever was causing the problem with my knee. He didn't thankfully and the job was successfully sorted. RSC may as well have gone to Beardwood instead of Germany.

philipl Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 The Guardian doesn't tell us anything we do not already know but they make a song and dance about it anyway!
roversmum Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Would be funny if Sam worked his magic next season and Roque's dream team Big Club ended up lower in the table than us! Here's hoping...
bennyboyt11 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Would be funny if Sam worked his magic next season and Roque's dream team Big Club ended up lower in the table than us! Here's hoping... Avec Bentley?
Hughesy Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Santa Cruz to Spurs - Darren Bent, Huddlestone & Zokora the other way will do.
MarkBRFC Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Christ you don't half come up with some crazy suggestions.
MarkBRFC Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I can't see us ever getting that type of deal though, plus Zokora is awful. I think it will be straight cash for Roque, i just hope we can get a decent fee for him considering all of his fitness issues this season.
Bennisfromheaven Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 what is it about spurs? you can gaurentee every year they will try sign one of our better performing players & usually for multiples of what we paid!! Do they have no scouting system of their own?? or do they just use the daily mail??
Hughesy Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 If it involves City or Spurs then im fairly confident it will include players - City have Jo & Caciedo (who we tried for last time), Spurs have Bent. It would be great if Arsenal came in and took him instead though. Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs & City all rumoured to want him - Why?!
Fife Rover Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs & City all rumoured to want him - Why?! SHHHHH!!!
thenodrog Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs & City all rumoured to want him - Why?! If you don't know that then you don't know much. A fit RSC is a big danger to any centre half. If he were English he'd be just what Capello wants. Still if you really do know better than Arsene, Rafa, Arry and sparky then I take my hat off to you hughesy.
Backroom DE. Posted April 28, 2009 Backroom Posted April 28, 2009 "A fit RSC" is a rare. His injury record should put off most big clubs, though I can imagine Spurs lodging a bid in the summer. Problem they'll have is I'm sure he'll ask for substantial wages... so do they try and force a type of "pay as you play" deal into RSC's contract (would he accept that?) or lower the transfer fee paid to us with the promise to pay more after RSC has played a certain amount of games for them (would we accept that)? Paying RSC massive wages without any fallback seems like a big risk to me.
Eddie Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 He's overvalued and his injury problems mean that he is unlikely to ever be fit for long periods of time in this league. I can't fully understand why anyone would be willing to spend huge amounts of money on him.
bubblerrovers Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 He's not overvalued anymore, teams will start bidding at 8 million, we won't get anywhere near the reported 20 million
T4E Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 or lower the transfer fee paid to us with the promise to pay more after RSC has played a certain amount of games for them (would we accept that)? Thats by far the most likely way we'll get any decent amount of money out of a buying club. We'd have little option but to accept those terms.
