adjam82 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I disagree too. Bent anyday of the week for me - Bent vs Heskey Stats based on league only: Bent - 203 (47) - 96 goals - Ratio of 2.1 games per goal - Aged 25 Heskey - 420 (48) - 111 goals - Ratio of 3.8 games per goal - Aged 31 Heskey for me. He brings more to the team. That is also Capello's view...but not Steve McLaren's lol

JAL Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I disagree too. tcj_jones Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Was just about to post similar stats. I'd have Bent over Heskey any day. Bent is great in the air and is a proven goal scorer in the Premir League. That said, it's not an especially fair comparison with one being six years older than the other. Bent or Crouch would be great, but I fear that the former would want too high wages and the latter would command too high a transfer fee. Consequently, we should probably forget them both.
Hughesy Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Yep looks like Bent will go to Sunderland for between £8-10m!!
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Yep looks like Bent will go to Sunderland for between £8-10m!! Considering the prices Harry is quoting for his other squad men I'd be shocked if Darren Bent went for this kind of money. He must be desperate to shift.
joey_big_nose Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Well i don't think after the season he has had Bent could go for more than 10. Not enough games or goals. However, Bent and Kenwyne Jones will make a very good partnership. Balls.
tony gale's mic Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Bent's league record for Spurs: 32 starts, 28 subs, 18 goals. Considering a substitute appearance is on average about a quarter of the game, that's about 18 goals in about 40 games or 17 goals in 38 games if averaged over a season. Pretty good record I'd say considering he's had barren spells and not a great extended run in the team.
philipl Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Bent v Hesiey is pretty academic. Roque is better than both of them and is our's. Anyone listen to JW on Roque on Radio Lancs last night?

Hughesy Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 According to the Sun - Rovers want Roques future sorted by the end of the month so that they can get on with it. Looks like we might of told clubs a deadline.
Hughesy Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 MEN - CUT PRICE ROQUE A comment from one fan "5 mil, absolute tops. Just as Alladyce applied the City factor when hanging out for a ridiculous 20 mil in the last window, we should now apply the Sam factor and offer them peanuts"

unluckymorton Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Gospel that it is eh? The same has been reported in several papers including the MEN. Sam doesn't mess about, he'll have put a deadline on it, he wants to know what cash he's got to deal with.
Hughesy Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 RSC has a clause that end at the end of the month. Sam needs to do his own business - I wouldnt call it Gospel....Id say it was very likley. Like Morten says, Sam is a straight talking manager and will of set a deadline - he is old skool and wont be messed about by rich Arabs & Crooke.

I wasn't aware the clause ended at the end of the month. Let's take what we can and have done with it. I still believe Sam did right not letting him go in the summer, he wasn't to know RSC wouldn't play the second half of the season. Let's build for next season with RSC out of the equation.
dirty cons Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 i think we should take wat we can get fo that overrated injury prone waste of wages muppet
gumboots Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 It's a good job the people running our club are businessmen, not fans. We can't simply get rid at whatever fee is bid, because we have to pay the bank some, his agent some and replace him. If you accept a low fee then who are you going to be able to buy to replace him. Get real. The club will decide if he goes for whatever fee they can get or whether it's simply not enough. they'll do it on a business and footballing decision and not think with their hearts but their heads and their calculators
67splitscreen Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 No expert but with a circa 16m O/D some may be prudent. As long as it allows Sam to get who he wants. We have been short changed enough in the past.
gumboots Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 No proof that any has to go to the banks Gumboots. No proof but there have been suggestions and it's always good to keep them sweet. have you never done the pay some in today and then next week go and ask for some back?
T4E Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Not sure if it's deliberate, but Warnock is doing his best to talk Roque up.....
