I disagree too. Bent anyday of the week for me -

Bent vs Heskey

Stats based on league only:

Bent - 203 (47) - 96 goals - Ratio of 2.1 games per goal - Aged 25

Heskey - 420 (48) - 111 goals - Ratio of 3.8 games per goal - Aged 31

Heskey for me. He brings more to the team. That is also Capello's view...but not Steve McLaren's lol

Looking at the ages then its Bent, for a team player now its Heskey.Nicko stated Bent is going to Sunderland for big money did he not.

Was just about to post similar stats. I'd have Bent over Heskey any day. Bent is great in the air and is a proven goal scorer in the Premir League.

That said, it's not an especially fair comparison with one being six years older than the other.

Bent or Crouch would be great, but I fear that the former would want too high wages and the latter would command too high a transfer fee. Consequently, we should probably forget them both.

Bent's league record for Spurs: 32 starts, 28 subs, 18 goals. Considering a substitute appearance is on average about a quarter of the game, that's about 18 goals in about 40 games or 17 goals in 38 games if averaged over a season. Pretty good record I'd say considering he's had barren spells and not a great extended run in the team.

RSC has a clause that end at the end of the month.

Sam needs to do his own business - I wouldnt call it Gospel....Id say it was very likley. Like Morten says, Sam is a straight talking manager and will of set a deadline - he is old skool and wont be messed about by rich Arabs & Crooke.

I wasn't aware the clause ended at the end of the month. Let's take what we can and have done with it.

I still believe Sam did right not letting him go in the summer, he wasn't to know RSC wouldn't play the second half of the season.

Let's build for next season with RSC out of the equation.

It's a good job the people running our club are businessmen, not fans. We can't simply get rid at whatever fee is bid, because we have to pay the bank some, his agent some and replace him. If you accept a low fee then who are you going to be able to buy to replace him. Get real. The club will decide if he goes for whatever fee they can get or whether it's simply not enough. they'll do it on a business and footballing decision and not think with their hearts but their heads and their calculators

No proof that any has to go to the banks Gumboots.

No proof but there have been suggestions and it's always good to keep them sweet. have you never done the pay some in today and then next week go and ask for some back?
