T4E Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 If I had a choice between the Bellamy that played for Rovers and Roque, it would be Bellamy by a mile. They were different kind of players, but Bellamy could win a game on his own and we, as a team, looked infinitely more threatening when he was playing. I'd take Bellamy, and I'd also take season 1 Benni above season 1 Roque. I just wish he'd bugger off so we can get on with the serious stuff.

modes98 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Give me Dzeko! I would think his price would be lower than that of Santa Cruz, but there are bigger clubs linked with him and he has said he would like another season in germany. I would think if we get £15m for him then we will be looking to get 3 or 4 (maybe more) players from that fund. Especially in CM.
Atomicrover Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 when I find that oilwell in my back garden I might. Or even just a goldmine Sorry, but the mineral rights still lie with the Crown, even if you're Freehold - shame eh?
gumboots Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Sorry, but the mineral rights still lie with the Crown, even if you're Freehold - shame eh? Sure I could squirrel the odd nugget away though. Since you'd drown in my back garden anyway - it being under water in any heavy rain - I think the chances of finding anything but weeds and ducks are minimal!
unluckymorton Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Isn't Allardyce still on his hols? My thoughts exactly...
tcj_jones Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 I'd also take season 1 Benni above season 1 Roque. Yeah, I'd agree with that as well. I just wish he'd bugger off so we can get on with the serious stuff. Me too mate, me too!

The Rover of Finland Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Does anyone know what´s really going on Roque´s case. Is there a medical at City this week? Is he even in country?
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Rumours on bluemoon suggest he has signed (according to a few in the know). Here's hoping. Looking at the chat on there a fee has been agreed which could rise to £20m based on certain things. "The player who is Santa Cruz has been signed in a deal that could rise to £20,000 000, a stunning quality signing. To follow as I predicted will be the player Crouch also the player Bentley will follow soon. Hughes is very excited as I am sure we all are."

I have been following that topic for weeks on Bluemoon, abdul222333 the poster seems a real character, that post was at 12.19am yesterday, I think we would have heard something from other sources closer to home if it is accurate.

Not only that but Sky or one of its off shoots would have picked up a rumour. It's noteven in the sppech bubble stage on the Skysports transfer centre. Not that I don't think it will happen just that it seems odd that if it's that far along nobody else has even a real hint.
Guest Kamy100 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 According to this morning's Lancashire Telegraph RSC is not yet back in the country, he is due back over the weekend, they say that Rovers and City have been negotiating and a fee is yet to be agreed (although progress has been made on this front).
Hughesy Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 So what happens with regards to him Meeting sparky? Conference call? Or does he not before he completes the deal? Maybe we can agree the fee etc and then RSC can complete without Hughes, otherwise we will be waiting!
Guest Kamy100 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 He won't officially be able to talk to City until a fee has been agreed, although I am sure his agent will have talked to City RE personal terms etc. Once the fee is agreed City will get official permission to talk to RSC, I suspect that they will then make him take a very rigerous medical before concluding the deal.

Maybe we can agree the fee etc and then RSC can complete without Hughes, otherwise we will be waiting! Surely the personal terms will be agreed. I'm not having it that City and RSC haven't already come to an agreement. Once the clubs agree the medical will go ahead and all that will be needed is a signature. It will be over in no time once the fee and payment terms are agreed.
JC4LAB Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 According to todays LET all this is just speculation cos people are on hollday until Saturday/.
bats Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Setanta have just published this article about Roque: http://www.setanta.com//uk/Articles/Footba...ure/gnid-57407/

Amo Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Okay, can someone clear something up for me: - We have a £20m price-tag on Roque, but he receives 25% of that? So why are we even looking for £20m when we could just accept £15 - 19m?
den Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Okay, can someone clear something up for me: - We have a £20m price-tag on Roque, but he receives 25% of that? Amo Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 No-one knows what fees are being negotiated Topman. It's all guesswork. As ever. It would make sense if the loyalty bonus had no clause. That would explain why Rovers are trying to get the best possible price before handing Roque a slice of the pie.
Eddie Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Okay, can someone clear something up for me: - We have a £20m price-tag on Roque, but he receives 25% of that? So why are we even looking for £20m when we could just accept £15 - 19m? That has puzzled me a bit too. I suppose it is just that Santa Cruz may refuse to leave if he doesn't get his slice of the transfer, but as we are talking about him going to City I'm sure the wage increase and the signing bonus will soften the blow.
joey_big_nose Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Okay, can someone clear something up for me: - We have a £20m price-tag on Roque, but he receives 25% of that? So why are we even looking for £20m when we could just accept £15 - 19m? I think the way it will work is that Cruz will get 50% (or a different percentage) of any fee over a certain level. That is the only way it would be workable as both the palyer and club would benefit from a higher fee. The "anything over 15" is completely unworkable as the Rovers won't give a toss once we hit the number.
LeChuck Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 City will sign Rocky, but not for £20m. Good news if it's true, especially as it all seems to be happening so soon in the transfer window. If Roque isn't back in the country until the weekend this will probably drag on well into next week though, which could be very frustrating. I wonder who Sam is looking at as a replacement? I'd love Janko. I can't think of anyone else realistic that I'd be happy with at the moment. Not keen on Crouch at all - thankfully I don't think we could get anywhere near his wages.
