philipl Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 The number of forwards City are supposed to be on the cusp of signing suggests they are setting up multiple deals in case some fall through. If they all happen, someone will be told thanks but no thanks. So two out of Etoo, Tevez and Roque- who would you take? And if they take all three and you are Roque, how much football are you going to be playing considering Robinho, Bellamy, Tevez and Etoo are your team-mates?
Manc Rover Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 City will sign Rocky, but not for £20m. I'll drive him to Eastlands once he get back, if it means getting rid of him faster!

gazsimm Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 i just hope sam gets most of the money to spend on new players if Roque does move on to money men City. It's a shame he is leaving because he is a very good player, i know he has his injury problems, but when he is fit and playing, there are very few better all round forwards playing in the premership.
dirty cons Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Tevez,Robinho and Bellamy are different players compared to Roque.. Well Yeah there good.

It has been reported on teamtalk, that RSC has said that if nobody offers the £20milion for him - the get out clause. Then he will stay at Rovers and complete his contract until 2012. Rovers therefore win either way (if he stays fit) If he stays and score the goals great, if not £20 million, ta very much and good bye

Better to move him on. 17.5 million should (?!) bring in 4 or 5 players.I have a feeling Di Santo will do more this season than Roque did last.
RoyRover Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Setanta have just published this article about Roque: http://www.setanta.com//uk/Articles/Footba...ure/gnid-57407/ He sounds over the moon about that one!
rovers si Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I've read on another forum that Santa Cruz has failed his Man City medical, and that the deal has fallen through. No source though so could be BS.

rebelmswar Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I've read on another forum that Santa Cruz has failed his Man City medical, and that the deal has fallen through. No source though so could be BS. Santa Cruz and medical problems? Never, next you will be saying that a young player of ours will play in Greece!!
modes98 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Not sure why we would agree for him to have a medical when no fee has been agreed. Given the speed the Derbyshire news was confirmed on the website I would have thought there will be similar in relation to Santa Cruz. Having said that, he shouldn't fail a medical, given all the rest he has had since January.
sussexrover Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Having just looked at Blue Moon it looks like one guy read Santa Cruz's quotes about 'If nobody buys me I stay at Rovers' and jumped to "Guess he failed his medical then". That was then taken as gospel. Simple as that.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 Daily Mail (Not the best source i know!) claims the deal has been done, £15 million plus a further £3 million dependant on appearances and team success: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...m.html?ITO=1490

In a year or two we can always buy him back for 2.5 mil after he looses his place to tevez at city.

rovers si Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Well maybe not then if he's on holiday, just passing on what I heard.
M2XLY Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Cruz wont be going anywhere yet, he is still on Holiday!! His agent is still playing him off between City and Spurs to see who will stump up the most cash! V reliable source!
broadsword Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I'm not his biggest fan, but you have to say it would be great business to get shot of him. We pay 3.5 mill for him, he has one good season then spends over half the next injured (line many of the seasons he's had), and now teams want to pay us 5 times what we spent on him. Yeah, we'll have some of that, ta. English football really is mad.
dave birch Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Can't disagree with any of that Bryan, it would be insane to hang on to him. The real problem is getting in a replacement for Roque mk 1
tcj_jones Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 If the reported fee of £15m+ is to be believed, then those who criticised Allardyce over the Christmas break for not cashing in really should retract their comments.
