RibbleValleyRover Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 Risky decision by Hughes if he signs. If he comes in and flops or spends most of the time on the treatment table then its going to look bad both to the owners and the fans. If he keeps fit and they strengthen in other areas then he could score the goals that could get them a Europa League place. If i was a betting man i reckon Hughes will be gone by January.

mellison24 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 OH ya better watch out! Ya better not cry! Gt shut of the d**khead (or other 2-syllable swear word) from Paraguay!! Santa Cruz is GOIIIIIIIIING TO CITY!!! (Ok the last bit didnt work). But 18million for him is daylight robbery!! I wudv accepted 10million!! Get in all players seen above.....but Nuri Sahin instead of Michael Bradley
jannerman Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Would be sad to see him go as I was excited by the prospect of him joining us when he did - but we did what we do at Rovers which is to give players a chance to get games and their fitness and unfortunately (in most cases) attract other teams. First season big input, second half of last season seems to have been a combination of sulking and geniune injury problems but what, isn't it going to be something like a 14m profit? Anyway it's good business and if we get two or three players in for the money Sam gets to spend (and to replace his wages) then we might be stronger for it so happy days. I think as with the case of Ronaldo there might have just been too many negative-sounding stories even if that's not what was actually put about.....but then hasn't he been on the lookout for a move to a bigger club since the start? No smoke without fire and all that...maybe the brother will be better?!
chocky Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Sling your hook Crocky. You wont be missed by this Rover. +1 good riddance...
Fraserkirky Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 as someone said before daylight robbery at that price, congratulations to all involved at Rovers for this. How many strikers do Citeh need exactly? We now need to give Big Sam the biggest transfer budget anyone has had at Rovers ( about 18million) to go and build his team for next season. The wages coming off this year should mean we have some dough to spend on that and also reduce it a wee bit. Liked Maxwell's list. Janko and Emana would both be terrific for us.
kandi Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Well,Blackburn Rovers wont be missed by Roque..have you ever got so much money for a Player?why not shut your mouth and are pleased to get so much money for him?
MeanGreenMachine Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Shopping List / Some players to consider: Marc Janko (6 million?) Renato Civelli (free) Modeste M'bami (free) Michael Bradley (5 million?) Franco Di Santo (loan) Shikabala (4 million?) Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (??) I would be disgusted if we forked out 6million on janko. A one season wonder if there ever was one. With a nice wedge of cash why should we be looking to sign any of those players? Get some decent players in for once rather than hoping on a unknown or scraping the barrel. Crouch, Huddlestone and Johnson from Boro would be a start. Heck Velouso from sporting with this sorta wedge.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Racist Err how is it? And I think Kandi might be RSC.

1864roverite Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 If the deal is £18m in total its a cracking deal for Rovers. City now have a number of strikers fighting for 2 positions. Robinho, Bellamy, Caceido, Evans, Benjani, Bojinov, jo and vassell as well as RSC.
sambo Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Heres hoping Croque joins players such as David Bentley who have found the grass isn't greener.... He will get a nice reception when he returns to Ewood He won't be missed, he played so little last season it feels like we've just been given 18 million for nothing! Good business by Rovers.
benhben Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 £18m for a player who has only scored more than 10 goals a season once in his career, and has underlying injury problems is a great deal. I wouldnt be surprised though if Santa is fit for the start of the season with city and hardy misses a game, now he is motivated to play again.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Rovers now in a very strong position financially wise and any loss with the cheap season ticket promotion has been totally wiped out.You would expect Sam to have at least 15 Million at his disposal at present with the Derbyshire deal included. A deal that simply could not be refused!
Alexis Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 is it 100% sure he is going to city? you are all talking like its done but I don't see any confirmation except media reports......
broadsword Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Well,Blackburn Rovers wont be missed by Roque..have you ever got so much money for a Player?why not shut your mouth and are pleased to get so much money for him? Or how about, let's slag him off big time 'cos he deserves it? Hmmm ... tough choice. and no, I don't give a toss that he won't miss us.
The Rover of Finland Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 There´s still atleast medical but now it looks likely to happen. Sparky gambles his future I think. Huge risk if can´t play more than last season. But great for us!
Alexis Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 but how do we know what they are reporting in the media is true? He isn't even back in the country yet and I heard Hughes went on his holidays yesterday. There has been no real proof that this isn't all media talk. Roque was saying just the other day that it would take £20 million for any team to buy him...so how is it possible for City to get him for £18? I'm confused....
4ever&ever Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Quite clearly Kandi isn't a Rovers fan, Been reading through his/her's post and I've come to the conclusion that Kandi is foreign, either Cruz's agent, Cruz or some kind of mad obsessed Roque lover. Not been funny mate but can you jogg on over to the Citeh pages because there's no need for you on brfcs anymore. Bye bye Roque thankyou for an amazing 1st season but I can't wait to see you fail like the rest of the 'too good for Blackburn flops.' 18 million for this croc, yes please.
blue/white Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Err how is it? And I think Kandi might be RSC. Maybe Ms. RSC??? anyways..... bye bye 'roquecito' don't let the door hit 'ya. Put pen to paper and be onto 'bigger and better'.. I don't wish ill will upon many (well, perhaps RC) but this guy...... GGGRRR!!! I hope he falls off the curbing & damages ligaments while hailing a cab! and if this sicknote helps bring down sparky's regime..... all the better!
imy9 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Where is Nicko when you need him to confirm this story and tell us more about the two new strikers we are purchasing
Ozz Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 If, assuming RSC is 100% fit come August 15th, I will be gutted not to see him in Rovers halves. A top class player, who will be hard to replace-It's no good have £15M quid in the bank and nobody to put the ball in the net.
nicko Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Where is Nicko when you need him to confirm this story and tell us more about the two new strikers we are purchasing Jet-lagged. I think it is very likely that Man City will now pay the fee Rovers want. I think it is a down payment plus extras close to a total of £18 million. Rovers wanted £15 million 'clear' from the sale which suggests Roque will be making up to £3 million for going... It's a great deal in terms of the sale price. I have to say there doesn't seem to be a lot of strikers lined up to come in - apart from Di Santo. And the Derbyshire thing is odd because two weeks ago his camp were told they had to wait until two strikers arrived. Maybe the fee is better than imagined in that case too. So, good money coming in...but no guarantee of good players coming in.
dazmaz Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 why all the doom and gloom from some?? are you forgetting that we didnt need roque for the last half/quarter of the season?
imy9 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Well I think it is a case of wait and see which is annoying, but it is nice to see more of the deadwood leaving and money coming into the coffers.
