What they want, and what they will end up getting are two completely different things.

If we solidly bid £7 million with no conditions ie, certain amounts being given once certain numbers of goals are scored and appearences, i'm sure they would accept.

Also, im pretty sure they still owe us for Bentley, so that could be written off as part of the fee...

medicals do take longer these days, it might not even be till tomorrow we find out now if he has passed it or not due to injurys Roque has had. I thought this saga would run and run all summer, so to sell him now before july is a bonus i think

It doesn't work like that. You sell when a club meets the valuation. In an ideal world you have a replacement in mind...in the real world you try to get someone you want but have to pay more than you wanted because they see you have just trousered a lot of money.

Looks like Roque is going, whether its a good deal for us or not will depend on his form next season and how much we will have to spend and who we bring in.

I started this thread praising Roque's performances and I would still like to thank him for the decent season he gave us, he was a real joy to watch and signing a new deal that guaranteed we got a very good price for him.

At the same time i'd like to say i was deeply disappointed with his unprofessional attitude in regards to talking to the press, it seemed like every week he kept going on about wanting to move. There are some players out there who won't comment on their future until the season has ended, its the way I certainly believe a player should behave.

I won't be wishing Roque all the best nor will I be booing him and wanting him to fail. Once he leaves the club he is just another opposition player nothing more nothing less.
