67splitscreen Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Least the training kit we gave him actually fit! Cheap skates! Let the spending begin............................................ Just seen our bank manager heading off home with a on his face.

gumboots Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Not in my seat he won't. One good season, nothing this season other than whinge to the press. Goodbye and good riddance. I know he only ever came to be able to step up, in his eyes, to the next level........I just don't need it ramming down my throat every week. Do your job and be quiet, don't take the p1ss by pretending to be injured. If Nelsen kicks his knee in August and he'll be out for months???? The image of big Chris landing on him is one that really excites me.
LeChuck Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Official. He's gone. Brilliant! It's on our official site and theirs, plus there's a picture of Roque signing something with Garry Cook. I hope the people criticising the club relentlessly for not selling him on the final day of the January window will own up and admit they were wrong. We played this one absolutely perfectly and sent out a perfect message - pay the release fee or he stays with us. Also January transfers are renowned for being overly priced, we're in a much better position to have a whole summer to spend it rather than a few weeks of panicking in January.

But we're apparently going to spend most of it on .... No, as someone said why pollute this thread as well.
tcj_jones Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Absolutely fantastic business. Bought for £3.5m and sold for circa £18m two seasons on. We got one great year out of him and then lost none of his value after a year riddled with injury. Well done Blackburn Rovers. OK, Waggy et al, time to hold your hands up and admit that your criticism of Sam for not selling in January was wrong?
JC4LAB Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Glad to see we didnt get palmed off with a naff part ex or is that still a possibility..?..

Its only good business if we replace him well, If we dont replace him with someone at least of equal ability its bad business! Things should hot up now!
ABBEY Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 weve bent city over and give em a good old rogering lol.
Backroom Tom Posted June 22, 2009 Backroom Posted June 22, 2009 Great for Rovers in theory, good for Roque in theory and not bad for City seeing as they are stupid rich. The price is way over the top but it doesn't matter to City, spent right this money would stabilise our club and set us up for the future but I see another Duff / Bentley saga
brfc4ever Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Thanx Santa. 1 great season and a lot of cash. Just hop BS gets to spend them !
Atty Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 The only people are laughing at this deal are the walker family more money into there pot. We not replaced Bentley yet what makes anyone thinks the board will give Sam any money to spend. I'm waiting for the line to be rolled out "we are keeping our powders dry" or "The prices and just to expensive"

Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Although I'm sad a player of his ability has left, I'm bloody glad it's for a huge fee. I just hope we learn from last seasons mistakes and we go out and replace our star players. Thankfully with an experienced manager like Big Sam in charge and the excellent John Williams, I believe we'll be a stronger team come the opening game next season.
bennyboyt11 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Lovely bit of business, now what becomes of the money is to be seen but at least we have made a hefty profit after all.
Billy Castell Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 This news is banging. Please let us have the money Mr. Williams so we can get a decent team together.
Hi Mack Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 The only people are laughing at this deal are the walker family more money into there pot. We not replaced Bentley yet what makes anyone thinks the board will give Sam any money to spend. I'm waiting for the line to be rolled out "we are keeping our powders dry" or "The prices and just to expensive" Do you not know? Weve still got the Shearer,Sutton, Duff, Bentley and now Cruz money to spend! Apparently theyve been waiting for the right time, there now ready to hand the "War-chest" to Sam!
gumboots Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Thats what i fear.... If we didn't spend it and paid our debts off would it make us more attractive to any potential buyer? Not suggesting that's what we should do but I never understand the financial side of things so I just wondered. Obviously there would have to be a potential investor and I know there isn't. This news is banging. Please let us have the money Mr. Williams so we can get a decent team together. It's not his choice is it?
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Thankyou Roque. Your departure could have been manufactured in a more professional manner, but never the less, your goals for us gave us some excitement we had not had since the departure of Bellamy, and probably a level of excitement we won't have for as long as Sam's signing the likes of Davies for us...
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Cheers Roque. I'd have sold him in January - I wasn't sure if Hughes would still be in charge at Eastlands at this point, and couldn't see that kind of offer coming in again. Fortunately, and despite Roque contributing absolutely nothing to the second half of our relegation fight, our gamble paid off and we've turned a handsome profit.
roversinmyblood Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Nicko, if I remember rightly you said that the £20M release clause would be split £15m to Rovers and £5M to Roque, was that correct? If so, what will be Rovers share in the current deal? I am hoping that you say £15m to Rovers and the add-ons/balance to Roque based on City's performances next season.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Rovers fans await with baited breath to see who gets the Cruz money...................................
jodrell Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Are you saying that City have a bigger cock than the Rovers Bryan? it's not the size it's how they use it
John Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Great bit of business considering how injury prone he is.
cesus Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 This is only a good deal if we spend the the money, realistically how much will Sam get of this cash I'd be surprised if it was more than 50%, I pray I'm wrong. Oh well Keith andrews will solve all problems!
Mr. E Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Good riddens Santa you muppet. Thanks for being good one season and then whoring out as everyone always does.
