Not in my seat he won't. One good season, nothing this season other than whinge to the press. Goodbye and good riddance. I know he only ever came to be able to step up, in his eyes, to the next level........I just don't need it ramming down my throat every week. Do your job and be quiet, don't take the p1ss by pretending to be injured.

If Nelsen kicks his knee in August and he'll be out for months????

The image of big Chris landing on him is one that really excites me.

Official. He's gone.

Brilliant! It's on our official site and theirs, plus there's a picture of Roque signing something with Garry Cook.

I hope the people criticising the club relentlessly for not selling him on the final day of the January window will own up and admit they were wrong. We played this one absolutely perfectly and sent out a perfect message - pay the release fee or he stays with us.

Also January transfers are renowned for being overly priced, we're in a much better position to have a whole summer to spend it rather than a few weeks of panicking in January.

But we're apparently going to spend most of it on .... No, as someone said why pollute this thread as well.

Absolutely fantastic business.

Bought for £3.5m and sold for circa £18m two seasons on. We got one great year out of him and then lost none of his value after a year riddled with injury. Well done Blackburn Rovers.

OK, Waggy et al, time to hold your hands up and admit that your criticism of Sam for not selling in January was wrong?

Its only good business if we replace him well,

If we dont replace him with someone at least of equal ability its bad business!

Things should hot up now!

Great for Rovers in theory, good for Roque in theory and not bad for City seeing as they are stupid rich.

The price is way over the top but it doesn't matter to City, spent right this money would stabilise our club and set us up for the future but I see another Duff / Bentley saga

The only people are laughing at this deal are the walker family more money into there pot.

We not replaced Bentley yet what makes anyone thinks the board will give Sam any money to spend.

I'm waiting for the line to be rolled out "we are keeping our powders dry" or "The prices and just to expensive"

Although I'm sad a player of his ability has left, I'm bloody glad it's for a huge fee. I just hope we learn from last seasons mistakes and we go out and replace our star players. Thankfully with an experienced manager like Big Sam in charge and the excellent John Williams, I believe we'll be a stronger team come the opening game next season.

Do you not know?

Weve still got the Shearer,Sutton, Duff, Bentley and now Cruz money to spend!

Apparently theyve been waiting for the right time, there now ready to hand the "War-chest" to Sam!

:P

If we didn't spend it and paid our debts off would it make us more attractive to any potential buyer? Not suggesting that's what we should do but I never understand the financial side of things so I just wondered. Obviously there would have to be a potential investor and I know there isn't.

This news is banging. Please let us have the money Mr. Williams so we can get a decent team together.

It's not his choice is it?

Thankyou Roque. Your departure could have been manufactured in a more professional manner, but never the less, your goals for us gave us some excitement we had not had since the departure of Bellamy, and probably a level of excitement we won't have for as long as Sam's signing the likes of Davies for us...

Cheers Roque.

I'd have sold him in January - I wasn't sure if Hughes would still be in charge at Eastlands at this point, and couldn't see that kind of offer coming in again. Fortunately, and despite Roque contributing absolutely nothing to the second half of our relegation fight, our gamble paid off and we've turned a handsome profit.

Nicko, if I remember rightly you said that the £20M release clause would be split £15m to Rovers and £5M to Roque, was that correct? If so, what will be Rovers share in the current deal? I am hoping that you say £15m to Rovers and the add-ons/balance to Roque based on City's performances next season.
