thenodrog Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 And even if we do get 18m, take a look at what RSC, bags, according to one Alan Nixon. When does 18 million become 15,500,000, When RSC leaves. Alternatively thats when 18 million might become 20.5million. Factors... 1. Whatever with a business head on and my blue and white spectacles firmly locked away..... if I was RSC's agent I would want him away. His career which was definitely upward last season has flatlined. BUT I'm not yet certain Man City would be the best place for him. 2. The biter bit...... If we sell RSC and continue to bomb then some of the money could go towards paying severence pay to the management team)*. But that alone might pot off the better 'names' in the frame. *(Unbelievably I have recently been led to believe that JW might well not have factored a cheap get-out clause into the management deal. I seriously hope my source is wrong!)
Amo Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Who would blame him for leaving? The guy doesn't any decent service now Bentley's gone. Our midfield is absolute cack.
Mr. E Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Well then we need a striker who can create his own chances, like Bellamy.
roverfanuk Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Roque wants out, Matt Derbyshire just said "our star striker wants out in January"...
tony gale's mic Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Roque wants out, Matt Derbyshire just said "our star striker wants out in January"... Where did he say this? Maybe he's just got an over inflated opinion of Robbie Fowler.
Bobby G Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Ya where did he say that and if thats true then he is an idiot for saying it out loud! Makes a mockery of the next 6-8 weeks.

Maybe the get out clause is if Ince dosen't turn up to do his coaching badges - infact even that is a good reason to get rid of Ince if that is what Rovers want to do. Comments such as Ince cannot concentrate on management of Rovers as well as study for his coaching badges. Maybe that is the right reason (excuse) for giving Ince the sack. I was in favour of giving Ince a try - but he has shown himself not ready for the job and therefore it is time for hime to go.
yoda Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 BBC Sport interview... do you have a link, can't see it anywhere!
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 Ya where did he say that and if thats true then he is an idiot for saying it out loud! Makes a mockery of the next 6-8 weeks. If thats true then Derbs needs a right bollocking and a fine. If its true that Roque is not happy (you can't blame him), you don't publicise it to the media. Clubs will be alerted and put in lower offers if they think the player is unsettled.
roverfanuk Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I just saw it briefly on freeview... Cant see it anywhere. Someone has also commented on it on BBC Sport 606, so i haven't made it up...

Interesting noone else saw it isn't it...

roverfanuk Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 What odds that the two of you are one! Very low considering i am on there with a different username... Oh and just to add, i stated someone else had mentioned it on 606...
Paul Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Personally I'm convinced Santa Cruz will go in January. If I was in his shoes I would want to leave. The only possibility of him staying is if he's not considered a big enough star for City's new management.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Just my own opinion after today but RSC's performance seem to suggest that his agent has 'wrapped him in cotton wool'. Just my thoughts exactly.
CrazyIvan Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 In a bizarre way, Ince getting canned just before Christmas could do us a favour with Roque. Think about this, Ince gets canned, new manager comes in and first words out of his mouth will be 'Nobody will be sold until I've had time to assess the players...' thus Roque stays put for the remainder of the season. No manager worth his salt will let any players go if he can help it in January...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 If we get a decent offer then he's off. It's worrying to see us being reported with big target men in the papers (i.e. Janko) and also some left backs such as Michael Ball. I got a feeling we're gonna be saying goodbye to Warnock and Santa Cruz who both look likely to move elsewhere such as Man City. I just hope their new chairman wants bigger names.

Yeah, because that worked with Bentley didnt it??
den Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I'm absolutely certain that the only way Rocky will leave this January, is if he has a clause in his contract. Even Ince wouldn't dare to sell him otherwise.

Ozz Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 It is a nautical term I think, describing a rash and dangerous move, that could endanger the crew and and have catastrophic results for all concerned. As in "John Williams performed a Crazy Ivan in the summer when appointing Paul Ince as manager of Blackburn Rovers".
bubblerrovers Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Why all the discussion??? If he has a clause in his contract he's gone, He will be a manchester city player come Jan, wake up smell the coffee and move on
