roversmum Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 How brave of these low lifes to attack a woman on her own. Poor Giselle must have been terrified. Thoughts and prayers with Rocky and his family.
Bobby G Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Daily Mail says Roque WILL ask for a transfer once Man City come in. I wouldnt be surprised if he does so, as when he signed his new contract, he mustve thought we would be in the top 10 range possibly pushing for a UEFA Cup place. Cant see how he will be with us on February 1 personally UNLESS we are in the cup final...That could sway it.
Hughesy Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz wants a move to Manchester City in January. Rovers turned down a £12m bid from City in the summer, but are prepared to up their offer to £15m, with defender Nedum Onuoha thrown in. (Daily Mail) Surely the absolute minimum we would take in a january window for our star man would be over £20m?!

Hughesy Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 So he said, but surely we wouldnt of done it again? I can understand why we would of had to, just hope we didnt.
Majiball Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Firstly my sympathies RSC and Co, people like that are scum. RSC will stay till the end of the year only silly money (barring a clause) should tempt us perhap we could have Dunne, Johnson, Onuha and sturridge. I'm a little in two minds over RSC as much as I do not want to admit it. On one hand 20M could go a long way to helping us stay up, RSC is not playing well, so it could help significantly. On the other he's different gravey and we all know what he can do, could he be replaced in Jan? With all these he's leaving stories and then his own admission that he is staying unless the club say otherwise, its a bit mixed. I'd like to think since he has said he's staying he will, but this is football and you never know?
Jan Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 So he said, but surely we wouldnt of done it again? I can understand why we would of had to, just hope we didnt. Would HAVE. would HAVE. Or if that's too difficult, would've.
Bobby G Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 We would have if it was the only way for him to sign it and deter interest.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Not looking good: RSC wants to go! Daily Mail again I see! tomorrow it will be saying Warnock...this paper never stops recycling the same two stories.
Bobby G Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 There is no smoke without fire...Same was the case with Bentley from March-April, but alot of people were in denial of what was happening despite what was being said in the papers...If a story is repeated time after time, then there has to be something behind it...

Ah but Bentley never said he was prepared to stay, whereas Santa Cruz has repeatedly used the words It's up to the club. In other words he's not going to kick up a fuss if we tell him he's staying, but he's open to a move if we decide we want to sell him.
dopper69 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Don't believe anything you read in the Daily Wail.
allanncd Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 What would be the point of accepting his transfer request - if there is one? There would be no possibility of spending the money in any way that would prevent relegation and if spent at all it would be wasted (particularly by Ince) on overpriced rubbish who would add to the wage bill and be sod all use in the Championship. Refuse the request and challenge him to earn his weekly wages that are more than the vast majority of the supporters earn in a year. He signed a contract only a few weeks ago and it is hideous that he would not even expect to the end of this season. This club has brought him back from the football dead and he would no doubt expect to be paid full whack if like Reid and others he suffered a long term injury. There are 2 sides to a contract.
Billy Castell Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I would not blame RSC at all if he was to go to Man Citeh.
Bobby G Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 If I was the board I wouldnt let him leave now. With him the chances of us staying us are much higher. So with it about 20-30 million pounds at least worth a spot in the Premier League. Without him we would only be possibly covering our relegation expenses if that even...

sambo Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 At this moment him leaving isn't a concern. He's not been great and without Bentley he's not scoring many goals. For £15million we can cash in, and he hasn't looked interested - if we could get the old Roque back I'd keep him but his heart is elsewhere.
Presty On Tour Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Strikers need a supply line and we are finding it difficult to create chances for the strikers. Santa Cruz had 2 chances, one he headed wide and he scored with the other. I believe we need him to stay to have a real chance of staying up.
Backroom Tom Posted December 6, 2008 Backroom Posted December 6, 2008 Sorry but until the goal Nathan Blake would have been more effective today. Great player he just doesn't look interested any more. Time to cash in sadly.
scotchrover Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Not looking good: RSC wants to go! Not that Stockport Rumour again! They wouldn't take him after today.
Hughesy Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 He didnt look interested today until the last 10-15 mins. Shame but I think the lad wants to go. Hope not, but im sure he will be off in Jan.
Nayef Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Come end of January and Man Citeh fans will be celebrating the capture of Santa Cruz who will no doubt start playing like a genius again. Come end of January and it will be very clear that Stoke, West Brom, Blackburn and Sunderland will be the candidates put forward for a horrendous relegation battle. When Rovers finally get relegated, Ince will come out and say "I'm proud of the players. You can't ask anymore of them. Our performance was exceptional and for 70 odd minutes, we fully matched West Brom but credit to them. They came here to Ewood Park and duly thumped 4 goals past us"
