roverfanuk
The sad thing is all we need is 4 competent midfielders and 2 competent defenders, and 1 good striker supporting Roque and we would be quality... Ahh... Damn... Wonder if Wigan would be interested in a Roberts Heskey exchange?

Ahh... Damn... Wonder if Wigan would be interested in a Roberts Heskey exchange? Iwouldn't go that far. One quality winger, a good striker and a centre back - plus dunn and grella staying fit, and i think we would be a competant outfit.
waggy
i have always held rocky in high regard, but the last 3 games have left me wondering/is he injured/has he already signed for citeh, because saturday he was bloody useless, did not run, jump or bloody try
modes98
One of the articles about his departed stated that Rocky has a back injury and that he is frustrated that Ince isn't listening to him when he says he needs games out to let it recover. Probably a load of rubbish, but Ince did rush him back from his last injury.
The Prof.
i have always held rocky in high regard, but the last 3 games have left me wondering/is he injured/has he already signed for citeh, because saturday he was bloody useless, did not run, jump or bloody try Thats one of his problems - He runs all over the shop, knackers himself out and you get no return. I'd rather he did a Benny in his first year, hung on the last mans should and scored a goal a game. Two simple words He Scored!
mattyboy6000
I too feel he wasn't fit on saturday. i think he may be looking at the exit door too. can't blame him, really
allanncd
It's looking pretty clear that he a has a buy-out in his contract (else why did he sign it?) and that will be triggered by City in January. Take the money and move on - he's done little or nothing this season so in that sense won't be missed that much. At least there might be a few crumbs of funds to buy what the team desperately needs - a creative or pacy wide right midfielder!

Hi Mack
You mean like tottenham did when HR took over! When a new manager comes in the whole place gets a lift! The players want to impress the new boss and step it up a gear + a new manager wouldnt just have the Wigan game! YOU need to get real if you think Ince is going to turn it round in 5 games. If he was capable he'd have already done so!

Get real. Funny what Joe Kinnear and Harry Redknapp managed isn't it? When hit by injuries and suspensions, Mark Hughes used to put out teams every bit as weak as Saturday's and get results. Without serious and major investment in our football team results will not improve significantly. Dosen't matter who's in charge they can't be miracle workers. I was there! I have been a season ticket holder for 15 years! I also went to OT and vs sunderland both embarassing! If your happy playing well/ok and losing fine! Our defence was awful on saturday! Deny that! We had very little chances! Its not good enough! Europe ambitions to relegation dwellers in 5 months! Im not happy..............maybe you are! my opinion i respect yours but dont agree! Hughesy
At ewood on saturday we did ok/ nothing special, however Liverpool were poor and missing one of the best strikers in the world, yet still won 3-1. If your happy with that ok, but im not!

Don't recall anyone calling for Hughes head when Bentley wanted to leave. Funny, Santa Cruz and Samba didnt want to leave till Ince came and implied his 'skills' on the club! Ok, its questionable whether Santa Cruz would have wanted to go at this stage anyway. But remember the players who wanted to play for European football not too long back, and now their facing relegation?! I have no doubt the reason Samba is unhappy is completely down to this tiff they supposedly had. Im starting to wonder whether maybe a couple of the other players havent had the same tiff with Ince, namely Roberts, Vogel and Treacy who had a spell missing for no reason after playing at the start of the season when we were actually doing ok...? Im starting to wonder whether maybe a couple of the other players havent had the same tiff with Ince, namely Roberts, Vogel and Treacy who had a spell missing for no reason after playing at the start of the season when we were actually doing ok...? I think there have been numerous full scale rows between Ince and several players. To Ince's credit he has put them behind him very quickly and the players whom extremely harsh things have been said to have been picked for the next game. The exceptions to that have been Sergio Peter who has problems of his own - see that thread - and Johann Vogel whom I wonder got excluded so Ince could force his point home about signing Keith Andrews. That's my speculation but other than people pointing out Vogel had a fall out at Bettis, all that has been said that Ince did not fancy him as a midfielder. The twin downsides of the repeated bust-ups have been that Ince's view of making up have been to have Bryan Robson type benders with the players involved and apparently Ince has been upset when players have refused to be so unprofessional and an undermining of Ince's authority because the players know they can scream what they want at Ince and still get picked. To Roque, the player is not fully fit- just look at him. He's not moving freely and he is clearly sacrificing himself for the team. If we had the luxury, we would rest him for the next two games. John
If the manager is suddenly converted into a fotoball guru because he got them to pull their bloody tripe out against one of the Big 4 - who have always traditionally been made to earn anything they took from Ewood - no wonder there are people willing to look past his lack of tactical nous, organisational skills, transfer market acumen, leadership qualities and embarrassing public persona and imagine that he's suddenly going to wave a magic wand and string a run of results together. Of course, always support the manager and team at matches. However, I cannot see how things can get better for us. Charlie Nicholas summed it up well after the Liverpool match. There is a clear lack of direction/ideas at the moment when watching BRFC. Its been pretty much the same for most of the season. Ok, we have had injuries but then you need roll up the sleeves and become difficult to beat. Sometimes that means going against your principles. IMO, it is upto the manager/coaching staff to provide that for the players. They need to put a game plan into place which can pick up points whether that be hard fought draws, or bizarrely enough victories!
Amo
Things have come to a pretty pass if people attending games are impressed "because the lads put lots of effort in." That is the very minimum I would expect from a school or amateur team going onto a football pitch, let alone highly-paid professionals who have the luxury of honing and practising their skills all week. Despite the perennial "This year Liverpool are true title contenders" mantra, Rafa's side are by far the poorest of the top 4 - remember this a side which has failed to muster a goal against Stoke, WHU and Fulham on their own midden. So Saturday's vast improvement - ie a few players ran around and tackled as if they were a bit arsed - wasn't exactly a renaissance in our fortunes. I knew when Robbie Keane wasn't in the starting line-up - how many times has he failed to score v Rovers? - that we might not get the comprehensive hammering many feared, as Liverpool are the most over-passing, thrust-less, lacking-in-penetration overrated team in the PL history. But let's have a bit of context, we're Premiership Blackburn Rovers, not Fleetwood Town, and an afternoon when the fellas tried hard and the fans got behind them does not a revival make. I like you.
