Lot's of players left Man U over the years. They simply have a policy that the only person that speaks to the press, is the man that matters - Ferguson.

Time Rovers went the same way.

Perhaps after a dozen titles, a couple of European cups and a sprinkling of random domestic cups, plus a full 70K stadium by the River Darwen, we can apply the same rules Den. All their players speak to the press - they just say what they're told to say if they want to remain a part of the thing.

Your personal soap box theory will now be tested out though. Allardyce has said RSC is staying. If RSC has gone come Jan 31st, you will have to retract everything you ever said about the sale of David Bentley.

In the summer I said he was leaving at the latest in the winter, and many people here were talking about "mistranslated interviews" and how we need to "have faith in the lad". Even though the exact same thing has happened to every player who has hinted he wants to leave us.

I hope all the supporters of the "modern professional footballers" are happy now. I hope however you don't expect us to find another top striker, because as so many other clubs can attest, this happens rarely. We were extremely lucky to find Benni and Santa for so cheap, but I'm not betting on it happening a third time so soon.

Just put the money in the youth and develop our own players, and install in them respect and passion for the club. The Championship, League 1, wherever that leads us.

He said "we don't need to sell". Which is the exact same thing every manger we've had has said before a big player left. If the player's "ambitions" (this word is honestly starting to make me sick) go beyond our club, they are leaving and there is nothing in heaven or earth we can do to stop them.

No because then the best ones will still leave us for pastures new. It's what happens in football.

I have faith that players like Dunn and maybe Derbyshire wouldn't. If I was a Rovers player, I would not leave for absolutely anything, as long as I'm still needed by the club. We must be able to breed such players. We'll drop a division or two, but....I for one don't see the point in languishing in the premiership going through the same motions over and over again - The team buys good players, the team does well, the top players leave, the team does bad. An endless cycle.

And yes, I know "everyone besides the top 4 goes through this." But why not be brave enough to try something different?

Only City seems to be keen on RSC. And that´s because of Sparky. But will he be there in January? No if they lose at WBA this weekend. They are only club willing to pay 15+£million. If Hughes gets sacked RSC will stay for sure. We could buy HSV`s Olic (would be a perfect partner for RSC btw) and a top quality winger with that money. But still, he is our best player.

Im really annoyed - just listened to his interview - who the bleep does he think he is. £20M??? BYE BYE!! We made you ya muppet! The next one to get the Blackburn Curse.

Bentley I expected, same with Bellamy but after the summer I thought Roque was different. How wrong - good bye!

OK the timing of this is terrible, but I'm not sure a) his interview is all that disasterous and B) if he leaves we'll be fine anyway.

He said he is happy and Blackburn he likes the fans and has to think about Blackburn in any decision he makes.

Yes, he also said he would like the opportunity to play for a big club with a chance of winning their league etc etc. No real harm in that. It's better than him just bobbing along and picking his wages up. He's ambitious and does not lie about it - fair play.

We have to remember he comitted himself to us for four years in the summer, probably assuming the board had picked a good manager in Ince with a professional set-up, he got neither. I'd be annoyed if that happened to me.

If City want to pay £18m I'll take that. We'll invest and be stronger.

The timing of his interview is terrible, the content not so much.

Oh, and that Colin Murray is a clown.

That's rubbish Tris. Allardyce might yet decide that £20m is more than Roque is worth and the money can be used to strengthen the overall squad and that selling him needs to be done, to keep us in this division. Or, he might decide that he doesn't want to keep an unhappy player at the club. Or both of the previous. None of it makes any difference to my stance on the subject.

If it leads us to Division One there will be no club to support. Do you honestly believe that the facilities at Ewood Park, Brockhall and the Academy can be maintained on League One attendances? You may not like the way in which modern football works - and I honestly can't say that I do - but it is a fact of life. As with everything else in life football changes. The days of a Ronnie Clayton or Bryan Douglas - two of the greatest players I have ever seen at Ewood Park - staying with a club throughout their career are long gone.

We made him? Don't be silly.

I don't know what's more shocking, the timing or the shocked reactions.

In my opinion he has been shocking this season and looks like a £6m player not £18m, anything over £15m and we snap their hands off!!

He is too injury prone, runs around like a headless chicken, never gets stuck in and has missed numerous sitters this season! We can easily go out and find someone of equal pedigree!

Zaki

Yakubu

Adebayor

Carew

Agbonlahor

Saha

and i could go on........

First of all, Roque has a genuine problem which is hampering his mobility and Ince was ignoring medical advice and still playing him.

you know this to be FACT or do you have sources in the cruz household??????

I actually meant un-earthing talent of an unknown quantity or maybe not hitting the heights they should be doing.

Zaki - was a nobody

Yakubu - was playing in Israel

Carew - His career had pretty much stopped

RSC - Injured, 5 goals a season - wasnt exactly hot property

Agbonlahor - From the AV youth

Saha - I remember him at loan at NUFC and he looked very average (at best)

Adebayor - Was not prolific in the French League and was not getting touted round the best clubs.

That's rubbish Tris. Allardyce might yet decide that £20m is more than Roque is worth and the money can be used to strengthen the overall squad and that selling him needs to be done, to keep us in this division.

1. If SA is to get the lions share of any money then he might well pack him off to City. One sale like that would allow him to strengthen considerably, but if the money is going to be secreted away to Jersey then I cannot see him going along with that and he will be a stronger person than Ince for the board to overrule. This could end in tears, but he needs to make sure my personal take on last Jans debacle over Hughes and Sav is not allowed to repeat itself.

2. If RSC is to be sold then the sooner the better. We do not want other clubs and players agents to have us over a barrell on the 31st Jan.

3. The city thing could be a poisoned chalice if Hughes is sacked. He might be better waiting till summer. However in context another 20k or so pw on top of what we are paying him will probably equal the GDP of Paraguay!

4. Funny how logic, common sense and decency depart when a player that we love decides to depart for whatever reason. Guess the closest feeling of rejection would be a divorce. RSC is still here but in some peoples minds he appears now to be a cross between Bentley, Neill and Old Nick himself. Reading so many churlish and juvenile comments must make making ones mind up so much easier.

I would have dropped Roque by now. Did Paul Ince ever play Benni Mc and Roberts together from the start? I don't think he did. Personally I think they link and play together quite well (or at least did). Those two up front and 20 million quid to spend on new players would be ok by me.

That doesn't really hold out if someone triggers RSC's release clause.
