Gav
If anyone offers 20million for him i'd snap their hands off. Injuries are a problem and he's not been the same player he was last season.

Hughesy
If the board can gaurantee us that Sam gets the full amount to re-invest then for £20m Santa Cruz can go. He is a very good player, but he picks up injuries and his head has been turned quite clearly. Someone on the radio yesterday said he has played his last game for this club....we shall see. Also if Benni gets back on form, then I dont think we will miss Roque too much.

Benni and Roberts matched his entire haul of league goals in 26 mins yesterday, and it also meant we weren't just hoofing high balls all the time. Not up for the fight - get stuffed

Maybe RSC may just get used to sitting behind Big Sam. Play the players in form not the superstars.
philipl
Once again, RSC has been carrying a back injury which has been restricting him and needed rest. Ince has been playing him against medical advice.

Amo
If Roque is to go, then it could be a great bit of business. Big Sam would have the funds to strengthen the squad, and we've got McCarthy and Roberts who link-up well together.
vintageadidas
Sell him - simple as! We'll move on and find another class striker. £18-20m is just too good to turn down!
Sandiway Blue
Sell him - simple as! We'll move on and find another class striker. £18-20m is just too good to turn down! Totally agree. Whether we like it or not, once we start talking figures upward of £12m plus,a club like ours really can`t afford not to do that kind of business. A couple of years ago there was talk of £10m plus bids for Gamst, with hindsight it would have been a great deal for us given how he has played since.Clubs our size will always be stepping stones for most players with the ambition and ability to play at the top level. For what it`s worth i wouldn`t be surprised if the deal has already been done for RSC to go to City.As long as BFS gets the majority of the fee for more players that will improve the quality of the squad, then thats the way Rovers have to operate from a business point of view. That is until somebody is daft enough to buy Rovers. Tris
Once again, RSC has been carrying a back injury which has been restricting him and needed rest. Ince has been playing him against medical advice. I don't know where you get this stuff from but it's totally untrue. The only thing that's been wrong with Santa Cruz is his attitude to wearing the blue and white shirt.
1864roverite
in defence of Phil, if you really wan to know RSC has a minor lower back strain and this is the reason why he pulled out yesterday morning, he had a fitness test in the morning a Ewood and failed. RevidgeBlue
Wasn't there an article by someone when Roque was at Bayern saying he had turned being lazy into an art form or something similar? And we couldn't understand how that article applied to the same player last season? Unfortunately that's how RSC has come across in his last three games. I really hope that isn't the note on which he leaves us having been such a wonderful player for us during the vast majority of his time here. Rovermatt
He can f**k off for all I care. His comments are pretty uncomplicated and only confirm what we've known all season. He's had his head turned by the promise of one game in three down at Citeh. If we can keep him around for the season and flog him come the summer for a healthy fee I'll be happy. Players with so little motivation needn't detain themselves at Rovers.
joey_big_nose
He can f**k off for all I care. His comments about 'a better club' are pretty uncomplicated and only confirm what we've known all season. He's had his head turned by the promise of one game in three down at Citeh. If we can keep him around for the season and flog him come the summer for a healthy fee I'll be happy. Players with so little motivation needn't detain themselves at Rovers. I don't think his quotes are that difficult to be honest. He said he wants to move to a club in Europe and trying to win the league. It is unhelpful and unprofessional, but the essential core fact is something that probably applies to every player at the club. If a CL club comes in they want to go. If someone will double their wages they will want to go. Nothing surprusing or different in that. The problem for Cruz is that he has been playing so poorly that I doubt anyone will come in for him in Jan at the money required to make a move possible. I certainly can't see any really major CL club coming in. On the positive side Cruz seems a much more solid character than Benni or Bentley so I think he will put in the performances if handled correctly. Allardyce is the man who can do that. Lets see how he reacts to Sam's management before putting the boot in eh?
AlanK
Lets get one straight. If RSC goes for £20m, we will not spend it all on new recruits. Clubs our size do not survive that way. In fact , not many do. Big Sam has a knack of finding the right player at the right time for the right price. It staggers me that we didn`t want him in the summer ( me included ). He is perfect for a club our size. our club. And, is it me or does it feel like we actually have a manager now? Not some cartoon character. A lot of us were wrong in the summer. Big Sam is the man and should have been back then.
broadsword
Let's not get all sweaty about a player saying he's happy here, but if he had the chance to play for a top team he'd take it. The bloke's from South America, do you all expect him to be a massive Rovers fan from birth? Yeah, he probably should've known better than to say it, but he's expressing thoughts probably every ambitious player outside the top 4 is. I can't see the top 4 buying him, so he'll just have to sit pretty. Either that or move onto to another team of similar stature where the odds are he'll do no better. 1864roverite
your probably right Bryan. When we are looking down at City, Hughes has been sacked by Robinho and Roque is approached by the media he may just look and realise what he has got. If the club have to sell him for £20m then let him go, I am certain that sam can find an adequate replacement whilst at the same time it would also repromote Benni to NUMBER 1 striker. The Rovers have been blessed with strikers down the years so why not more in the future ?

Players with so little motivation needn't detain themselves at Rovers. Though I agree it would seem that he does want to move on - lets be fair to the guy, by signing a new contract and showing a bit of loyality he has helped to guarantee a decent transfer fee IF he does move on. Personally I think that Santa is a confidence player - and had lost that under Ince - in a way you can't blame him for wanting to rejoin the manager who basically saved his career (which to be honest was at a dead end at Bayern). I am still not 100% he will go - Sam has managed to win over most Rovers fans in the space of a few days - three points helping considerably, but also his general approach to his job. Who is to say that Sam can't pursuade Santa to give us at least another half a season.

Rovermatt
The turn of phrase in the Sun story about Santa Cruz is amusing. He can't just quit. We can sell him yes, but he can't just leave. Tittle tattle.
Hughesy
£20m, thank you, goodbye and then give Sam the full £20m on top of his £10m and let him do some work with that. We should then add: (Dream world I know) Reo-coker Kightley or Hunt Martins
