Tris said he asked Roque at point blank whether he had been carrying a back injury and Roque said no. If it was about leaving or something I wouldnt put any weight on Roque's answer but why would he have to lie about an injury for God's sake?

What I can't get my head round is why him not being injured but still playing pants is better than him carrying an injury and struggling to make his mark? I'm more concerned about his mindset now that it appears that he has no decent excuse for being pish this season.

Given he has previous at Bayern of not seeming to be bothered when angling for a move, why the shock horror now? We weren't complaining that Bayern fans were glad to see the back of him for his attitude.

Phil is on a bit of a roll here. Firstly he is as "certain as he can be" that Big Sam won't be joining. Then he accuses Ince of playing Roque "against doctors orders", which was refuted by the player himself. Ince probably/certainly doesn't give a metaphorical jobby, but if that was in print it could be libel I would say.

I'm not sure who these sauces are Phil, but they don't seem to be spectacularly accurate do they?

Please give us some other "dead cert" information such as "Burnley will get promoted" or "I'm as certain as can be that we won't be signing Messi".

It comes as no surprise to me that Roque has been playing with an injury and has been unfit. Noticed it during the boro game that he looked off the pace and his movement didn't seem comfortable at all.

If Roque has been playing with an injury its because:

- Ince believed he had to play him as we were in serious trouble and we needed players of his quality to get us out of this mess, even though he was not fully fit.

- Roque wanted to play despite the injury. He has made it clear he has great affection for the club that revived his career and he wanted to repay them by giving his all to turn our current plight around.

I guess we will never know why he has been playing with an injury. If I had to guess I say that Ince chose the decision to play him regardless of his fitness as our situation was dire. Grella being played with injuries and not fully fit would back up this viewpoint.

Well apparently in that off-the-record interview, Ince said he was made to play Roque by JW. Then again, Grella was also rushed back too soon, so Roque wouldn't be the only player Ince gambled too soon.

Ince gambled on both Santa and Grella getting them back quick and it was obvious they were not right and santa is still not right, and thats probably why Sam left him out against Stoke.

I think Ince was tilling porkie pies when he apparently told a supporter that Williams has told him to play Roque all the time, when it was obvious santa was not fit to play

The left ankle he hurt at Wolves on August 2nd has been bothering him, but not to the extent that he's felt unable to play. (And his back's still fine).

An ankle injury injury incurred on 2 August kept Roque out of the game on 20 December.

Actually the physioroom web site neither supports an ankle injury in August nor a back injury at any time.

Allardyce playing down rumours about Santa leaving

I'm trying to decide if this is good or bad news. On the one hand, it'd be difficult for a club in our position (league position and finances) to replace him; on the other it means a lot less money for Sam to potentially spend (assuming cash would have been made available).

Either situation is advantageous for us. If he stays we retain the services of a top-class striker, selling him in the summer for a massive fee after he has helped us to stay up. On the other hand, we can get rid in January for an equally impressive amount, allowing Allardyce to replace a guy who has been out of form in spite of his big talent. Money will be made available (surely) whether Santa Cruz goes or not. We are glaringly short in key areas. One win over Stoke doesn't change that.
