I know what you are saying, but it suggests to me that Sam is basically saying 'I don't want to talk about it'. At no point does he say there that Roque is not getting sold, just that 'if anything' he wants 'to look forward' to him playing well for us to help us get out of trouble, instead of focusing on speculation.

It looks like base covering to me. If no bid has been made (and no big bid gets made) then he has covered if Roque stays by saying that Roque needs to regain his form. On the other hand, he is also saying that he doesn't want to talk about selling Roque because that shouldn't be the focus at the minute. If an 18m+ bid comes in, he will sell.

I seem to remember seeing something where he was asked about Roque being injured and he gave a smile after his answer. It said to me that he thought Roque would definitly be going, but I could have read it wrong.

In 4 league games a lot can happen.

Yes, but if you had a belief that you could improve a player whose basics are big, quick and strong, can play a pass or two, surely you'd take him when you look at the sparse talent in reserve at Ewood Park these days.

I think we should do the same as Villa did with Liverpool in the Berry saga in the summer, give them a deadline so we have plenty of time to react, and bring in a replacement/'s.

I agree with having a deadline (if there is no relase clause), if we are to sell Roque we need some time to bring in some players.

Seems to me that there are players Hughes wants and players the club wants. It'll either end up in compromise or Hughes no longer being their manager. I bet the club aren't too keen on spending £18M on Roque given the other names they could be going for.

i think it's obvious that Sparky has spoke to Roque saying he will be back for him.

I genuinely think Roque would be no good to us now if he was to stay and would be far better used as potential collateral. We all read the reports of how bad he was at Bayern and he was starting to look that way before his 'injury'

I've long suspected he has been tapped up, he hasn't looked interested for ages. With the constant speculation pretty much every day that he is going to City and Hughes's unprofessional behaviour (IMO) concerning transfer targets it was bound to further aid in their effort to unsettle the player.

FA works for the bigger clubs, we have got no chance.

Illegal contact ?.I reckon Hughes has been in contact with Cruz on a monthly matey matey basis since he left Ewood.

Hughes told Cruz to play at half pace.He has been all season, Rovers fans are not really arsed about him leaving due to his poor form and Hughes will get his man for a reduced fee 10 mil or so.Just wait for Santas miraculous injury free return to top form as soon as he puts on the sky blue shirt.

Its a double edged sword- if we dont see the money for 6 months, then when we purchase I assume we can do the same thing?

Its a stupid move really as Hughes will get sacked and a new big name manager will come in. The new manager will want bigger names as will the board who want instant success.

Its entirely possible thats he's been misquoted or at the same time it could just be a way of getting the "come get me" message out and backtracking if a deal doesn't arise. It could even be his agent making the moves and Roque knows nothing about it. Quite frankly who the hell knows whats going on...!

I just want the damn thing resolved one way or the other as i'm pretty tired of reading every day for the past god knows how many months that he is going.
