Some credit is due to him (all this transfertalk must be quite chaotic for him as well), he's also in this case said that he won't turn his back on Rovers if the correct bid doesn't come:

"Now it is a matter of time. We will see. The important thing, at the end, is that Blackburn and I are happy. There is a long way ahead until the market closes and I am fully committed with Blackburn and I will continue working with joy here"

Too many players in the recent seasons have gone want-away/on strike, really can't see Santa Cruz doing that.

Well if he does stay I hope I am wrong and he is committed to the cause as a committed and fit Roque is a danger for any defence.

Problem is an unmotivated Roque is no good to us. He has seemed a decent bloke thus far up until his poor showings so lets hope one way or another it has a happy outcome for us.

Excuse my naivity and it has probably already been stated but I am beginning to wonder if there has been a whole plethora of smoke screens going on regarding Roque and I feel Nicko himself is feeling the same in light of one or two of his comments about this. Citeh, as we are aware, are in the market for Galacticos, superstars from another footballing planet etc. Granted it requires Kudos as well as dollars to attract the very best (unless you are Brazilian it appears) and, accordingly, they are actually being linked with 'average' players by comparison. Bellers, now Podolski and, for what seems like an eternity, Santa Claus himself. I may be wrong but remember Roque's reasons for leaving Bayern were his lack of opportunities, being number 4 striker behind, amongst others, Podolski....the irony!! He came to Rovers to play. Surely by going to Citeh he will, once again, be part of a fleet of strikers and who, on current form, would be struggling to get a game.

Citeh are going to buy a hatful of strikers because thats what rich clubs do. They are in for a number already and whilst we know they have made enquiries about Bellers and Podolski....they have not about Roque. Abu Dhabi may be rich but they arent stupid and it is my feeling that the prices quoted for Roque are ones they are simply not prepared to finance......face it lads he is worth 10mil at best! Add to that the simple fact that he wouldnt start week in week out (the reason he left Bayern in the first place) and you get the feeling that perhaps he is actually going absolutely nowhere.

I am sure he will now go and sign for Citeh this afternoon, blowing my theories out of the water but until then.......

Oh yes...in addition...don't you feel Roque himself is sounding a little 'back-tracky' at the moment aswell??

Podolski is a different striker to Roque..he`s more like Bellamy !

Agreed and accepted but I still feel that, bottom line, only Hughes has any interest in having Roque at Citeh and, as far as his paymasters are concerned there are far bigger fish to fry. Do not underestimate the power of Robinho in all this either. If my diehard Citeh mates are even close to being correct they all reckon it is he and not Hughes who is in daily contact with Riyadh or wherever it is they all live.

"Luckily, we have both taken our chances. We have got going with a few goals and look like a fantastic partnership. Now we just want to make the most of every opportunity we get.

Benni was in the shower after having been substituted when Jason was doing his bit....

i dont think he will go. They wont stump up the cash for him while question marks remain over Sparky I dont think he is the type to sulk about it either ala Benni Mac.

Hopefully Benni has rediscovered his passion and Big Sam can find a way to get the best out of both of them. if we have both firing then Europe beckons (not this season obviously)

I doubt any offer will be tabled by City whilst there is still a question mark over Hughes. I suspect, and this is not wishfull thinking, that Money Bags Arabs are thinking seriously about who to throw their millions at - and I'll wager its not Hughes. As time drags on and no offer is forthcoming - and indeed City don't table offers for any other players - I suspect Hughes's position becomes more and more precarious. I suspect he's on borrowed time, given the clubs league position, departure from the cup and rumours of in-house fighting.
