Correct. I don't disagree BUT we all know from experience that it happens. Whispering campaigns, poor results, indisciplined attitudes etc... and it's always the manager that gets potted. Unless you can think of any other example in the last 50 years?

btw how many of those players actually supported 'the shirt' as kids? 1.5 imo.

:rover: well the last 4 games i saw him play,he did nothing but sulk, sooner he is gone the better :brfcsmilie:

Blame the previous regime for all of our problems Waggy, until you accept that and get your rather large pigheadedness out of the way you might just come round.

We are all pulling together at last for this season, come and join in Waggy, you might find you actually enjoy it.

according to Nicko we have agreed a price with city for Santa, but Rovers will not sell him untill we get a replacement in for him.

did he actually say we'd agreed a price or that we would agree a price if we could find a suitable replacement?

Nicko said this first thing this morning:

ROQUE - I don't believe the £19 million Man City bid mentioned in some papers is correct...it's just people putting new numbers on the story and justifying their faith in City's previously 'massive' offers. I think the offer is around £15 million with no strings attached.

So I truly hope the operative verb is "would"!

I think the Rovers are going to have serious trouble with the fans if Roque goes for less than City paid for De Jong.

he reckons 15million is the price yes and Rovers will be back on to them once they find a replacment for him.

Can I confirm that I would be very disappointed if he went for less than 18m

looks like you might be disappointed then

"I'm counting the days down in the hope that there is not a phonecall saying one of my players may have to leave because the price you are getting is far too great to turn down.

"We will resist selling anyone if we can."

In terms of City and Santa Cruz he added: "It has been very quiet I'm glad to say, but that's not to say it won't resurrect itself.

"We don't have to sell anybody and that's still the case as far as the chairman and me is concerned.

"I'm just trying to keep the distractions of the transfer window away from the players and make sure there is nothing in their minds apart from winning a football match for Blackburn."

Does this sound like baiting Man City for a big offer?

SOCCER Blackburn Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ'S CITY SWITCH STILL ALIVE - FATHER

The father of Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz is still holding out hope that his son can complete a move to Manchester City.

Aproniano Santa Cruz claims his son will not give up hope on a switch to Eastlands while the transfer window remains open.

Blackburn have already knocked back one £15million bid for the striker and, although City have not returned with an improved offer, the player's father believes a move is still a possibility.

Blackburn have been linked with Racing Santander forward Nikola Zigic and Red Bull Salzburg's Marc Janko as a possible replacement for Santa Cruz.

And the player's father told Teledeportes.com.py: ``I think it is quite natural that the team search for a replacement.

``As long as the transfer window does not close, negotiations are still continuing.

``I have a feeling that it may be possible. The conditions are real and there are not many differences.

``In a negotiation, the money factor is always the most important.''

``According to the City coach (Mark Hughes), he will keep trying to sign him.''

Sick and tired of this saga now <_<

Like most I only care for the clubs well being and I dont want players in the blue 'n' white who dont want to be here, simple as.We all have a job to do getting this club out of the brown stuff and we ALL must be focused on that task and not listening to Cruz and his pops spout off.

The Lancashire Telegraph understands that Sam is determined to keep hold of Roque and it will take of significantly more than £20 million for Rovers to even consider selling their prized assest.
