Thanks for that Kandi.

A lot of people here totally fail to understand just how big a star Roque is and the pressure the media in Paraguay put on him.

As far as I could tell, he came under quite a lot of pressure in that interview to clarify his position on a transfer. He did say he wants to play in Europe again but he did not say anything at all against the Rovers.

Anyway, it is great to see RSC back scoring again (2 in 2 now) and giving the Rovers that additional dimension of class that Premier League clubs need.

Unfortunately i think the Rovers marketing team have totally b@@//$ this up. RSC appears to have a Beckhamesque quality on the female half of the population. And we stck a funny hat on him at X-mas. This is a huge fault at Rovers and I think someone should be held to account.

The bottom line is Roque will have to play like someone worth £20 milion for anyone to buy him.

Maybe that penny will drop soon.

nicko, why do you have a such a downer on Santa Cruz?

I realise in your profession that "Santa Cruz stays" is a much less sexy story than "Santa Cruz joins City for 20m" etc but the best possible case scenario for Rovers would be not for him to be sold for any amount but would be for him to rediscover his best form, keep us up and stay on beyond the summer with Sam building the team round him.

The guy was absolute quality last night and showed why it was so essential we kept him in the January window.

Unfortunately, I missed the game last night. If he was quality last night, then great! Good for him, good for us. I still think Nicko's "downer" on Santa Cruz is justified though - are these quotes from South America real, or is he still a Rovers player??! We're fighting relegation, and he's officially talking about other clubs? He's got a four year contract for (Please don't use that word again) sake.

I don't mind, and I don't have a problem with Santa Cruz wanting out. I think he'll be worse off at City, but that's his fecking problem. I just don't think it's ###ing fair to talk about transfers in February, and certainly not with us being near a Championship (the league) future.

To sum it up: Shut up, or talk about Blackburn as if they matter. Because they do to us!

Probably because RSC does not give him the exclusive interviews and because if we don't sell him, Rovers have no money and as a result no real transfer scoops for him to tell us about. This leaves him with stories like RSC can't keep his mouth shut or his agent is deperate for the move to happen.

It is not Nicko's fault, it is his job to get stories and if there is no real stories, then he has to put a slant on a non story to make it appear that there is one.

Not like you to have a moan...

The point is the player is telling the truth to his media mates back home - and then telling another story over here.

I felt the same way about the Alan Shearer affair.

If players want to go, just say so.

I also find it amusing that the fixed price clause is confirmed...after many did some whining when I first wrote it.

Will Hughes be around in the summer to pay the £20 million? I cannot for the life of me see anyone else paying that in the summer, even if he has a very good end to the season his overall tally of league goals for the season won't be more than 11 or 12 probably.

Still say he would bring something to Man Utd, Liverpool and if Spurs around. If he has a blistering end to this season then interest would be generated, and with the new TV deal people will have money burning in there pockets. That is if the government of this fair nation is correct and the banks have loosened the purse strings a little.

Nicko, that is stupid and you know it. Football fans are fickle and predisposed to scapegoating. A player expressly states his desire to move and he'll have the crowd turning on him in a blink of an eye. Why would a player do that to himself? Why would a player do that to the fans if, like Santa Cruz, he genuinely has respect for the club and its supporters?

And, unless I've missed some reports, you're wrong about him effectively telling two different stories. Over here, he is being cagey and not ruling out a move but not going on about it either - OBVIOUSLY because he doesn't want to be targetted by the fans and, perhaps, cos he doesn't want to hurt the fans.

And to the South American media, he's suggesting that a move is what he wants.

They are not two mutually exclusive stories. One is cagey, one is more open. Maybe, a PR error by Santa Cruz to be open at all but I don't see how you can accuse him of lying to the British media (as you insinuate).

If he has expressly stated to the British media that he wishes to remain at Rovers beyond this season, then I stand corrected. I haven't seen it.

Well firstly his dance through uniteds defence was a joy to watch great feet to set himself for the finish.

Scoring against united will spur him on (hopefully).

To be honest I don't care where all this mixed info is coming from, I'd just rather it stopped. Whether its his agent, himself or some Jimmy five bellies type, its a distraction we don't need in our situation. There's not a club in the world that does not know RSC wants to leave, the advertising campaign is no longer required, they know.

Its time his camps lips where zipped and he went about proving he is a 20M pound player as he did yesterday. Because the only way he's leaving if is someone gives us 20M. If it is City then Bellamy and RSC together has an irony about it.

Not a chance. It's JW's son I think.

He also says that the last bid from City was £22 mil.

Really? I understood it to be 24m but I'm not splitting hairs.

btw Did he also say that it was rejected by BRFC cos City would only pay that amount over 3 years! Those Ayrabs are presiding over a fur coat and no knickers outfit if ever there was one.

Eh?

Roque stated in a Fox TV interview a week ago that he wanted to go...

Is that not specific enough?

Pleasure. ;)

I was going to remind you about Roque signing in the first place - or Givet.

By the way, does nobody read the Sunday People?

I was expecting a right old slaughtering today...

Yesterday's all round display showed how effective he is up front in a 4-5-1 formation. That ability is worth a lot of money in todays market.

If players want to go, just say so.

Yeah cos the Red tops always print the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth don't they?

 Do your constant Ince posts not ring a bell?

And Roque was very good yesterday but I just hopes he carries on his form. Unless he produces excellent form from now right until the end of the season, teams will be looking at a man who has had one excellent season over his entire top level career.

Why? I would call that article stating the obvious. But whilst you are at it could you inform us if mesrrs JW, Finn etc etc are facing the same %age pay cut?

btw......... "The manager's hands were tied in the last transfer window, with just El-Hadji Diouf signed for a fee ". I may be wrong but I'm led to belive that Spits transfer fee is not payable until the close season.

 Do your constant Ince posts not ring a bell?

Point accepted. I have maybe indulged myself somewhat. ................ And I'll bloody well continue for some time yet!
