kandi Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 When he was at Bayern München he has been at the Hospital for surgery six times....Did he feign this injuries??
Drunx2002 Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Even if he is the "type" to feign injury he surely can't get away with a dodgy knee for the next 7 matches to prevent him getting injured. And if the club doctors are going to let him get away with that then we should have just sold him in January. Quit with the paranoia everyone, let him get back fit and put him straight into the team.
Backroom Tom Posted April 12, 2009 Backroom Posted April 12, 2009 After last season I thought RSC was the consumate pro, my trsut in him was gone after witnessing the disgrace of a performance he put in at Wigan away and his leaks to the press. Having said that I hope he retunrs and plays a massive part for us still this season, give both the club and the player the farewell his last season performances warranted.
rovers_rob Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Not looking good for Roque .... Roque Santa Cruz visits knee specialist in hope to play for Blackburn again this season
deloreanwfn Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Santa Cruz undergoes knee surgery Will he play again this season?
Majiball Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Its not serious surgery. 3-8 weeks recovery time dependent on age fitness etc, RSC should be nearer 3 and then training, we may see him this season. Lets just hope they sorted it all out so he can come back, bang in the goals to keep us up and then make us 20M.
waynerovers Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Decision not to sell looks worse by the day. agreed especially considering the fact he hasn't scored a goal since the window closed
frosty Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 agreed especially considering the fact he hasn't scored a goal since the window closed Scored at United, and Coventry at home.
Shabani Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Pretty much won us the game with his performance v Hull
waynerovers Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 my apologies i'm very tired, been trying to write an essay all day and just failing miserably
rog of the rovers Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 What message would it have sent out to the players had he gone! If we stay up it was the right decision, regardless of whether he comes back or not.
RoyRover Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 If he comes back and scores the winning goal against WBA on the last day of the season to keep us up, then we will have been right to keep him.
Eddie Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 What message would it have sent out to the players had he gone! If we stay up it was the right decision, regardless of whether he comes back or not. That every player has his price and that 20ish million for an injury prone striker who had scored a handful of league goals in the first half of the season represented a very good deal for the club. It's unlikely that he will do anything between now and the end of the season to justify the decision, it will be decided either in the summer or next season. If we sell him and don't get 15+ million it will have been a terrible decision or if we keep him and he doesn't score 15+ goals it will also look bad. I personally feel we will look back on it in a few years and wonder why we didn't sell.

Does that help you?
CAPT KAYOS Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 It's cos we didn't have a tardis available Eddie. The Doctor was visiting his family on Gallifried in January. Does that help you? got a downer on Eddie at the moment Theno? Maybe didn't have a Tardis but don't tell me the reasoning for the operation has only just been diagnosed - how long has he been out? Forget about Roque the saviour - expect a subs/ starting appearance against Pompey and a cameo start (parting) for the game against WBA.

But at the time everyone was lambasting Ince saying after the departures of Brad and Bentley no more players had to leave. In my view it was a similar situation in January except that our position was even more perilous and it was therefore even more important none of our better players left.
dave birch Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 It's cos we didn't have a tardis available Eddie. The Doctor was visiting his family on "Gallifried" in January. Does that help you? Somebody been putting Gally in the pan? Isn't it "Galifray" or something similar?

Eddie Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I was in favour of selling Benni for the 7/8 million touted in the summer, although it is still unclear how serious their interest actually was. I'll also say again, I've been very consistent in my opinion about Santa Cruz since the end of last season, but you can all keep ignoring that fact. You can disagree with me by arguing that he will eventually prove his worth or that he will hold his value, but you can't try and get around it by saying that I am only saying what I am because of hindsight. He's had knee problems since his early 20's (if not even earlier) and he was bound to have them come up again, we played this one very badly. The ONLY possible correct reason I can now see for why we didn't sell Santa Cruz is that we knew he wouldn't pass a medical and we didn't want to completely destroy his value by having a deal collapse.

Yeah, but Hughes would have known what he was taking on having signed him for us in the first place, surely?
