Sounds like Santa Crock is looking to take a big fat 5 year contract off City and become perma-crock. Probably taking lessons from Bullard's move to Hull. Nice skiving work if you can get it. A waste of space. Now I know why BFS is pinning his hopes on a Roberts recovery.

Crikey, up to now I've been all for keeping RSC and have defended the decision to keep him to the hilt but that article posted by jim leaves me speechless!

:o

No doubt the usual "lost in translation" excuse will be rolled out but PAPR are going to have a job putting an acceptable spin on that one!

I can see there being quite a potential fall out between Sam and RSC if Sam and the medical staff feel he is ready say for the Portsmouth game (or even earlier) and Roque wants to nurse his knee until the close season.

So thats that, even if fit then 'undetectable' injuries will keep him out, I thoguht the calf strain was suspicious.

I always thought he was a good pro until recently.

Like Rev I have defended Roque but this latest article has crossed the line for me, he knows what an important week it is for the club and all that this can do is to disrupt the team. We have seen the last of RSC in a Rovers shirt.

Dont let waggy see this, its an absolute disaster for Rovers. Maybe a few of the players knew this in advance and thats a reason to their dips in performance.

This isnt the kind of thing Rovers need going into the final games cant fault waggy on this one if its true.

Firstly, perhaps we'd better see what the official version of the story is.

Secondly, even if it's as bad as it reads here, you can't blame Sam for this, if he or any of the medical staff had had the slightest inkling in January that Roque intended to swing the lead at a later date, he'd no doubt have sold him like a shot.

Another productive season?

At the start of the season this was a realistic hope. In January where he'd scored a grand total of 3 goals or so (and this from a total of around 15 starts) and the niggles started kicking in it should have become apparent that he was reverting to type again and we should have got maximum money while we could. An competent centre mid, a hungry striker and we still wouldve had plenty of cash to spare.

Anyone of You has Actually read or heard the original interview? it was always going to be 4 to 6 weeks recovery time.Sam would not say the truth.

Roque senalo en declaraciones a la 780 AM que su idea es poder disputar los ultimos partidos del vigente campeonato pero que eso dependera de como se de el proceso de recuperacion..

This kind of attitude makes me PREFER the petulance of Ronaldo! Get rid of this f****g a55whole asap. We are a club which deserves a little more respect than that. Yet another example of the player thinking he's bigger than the club, which is NEVER the case. Even Burton bleeding Albion are bigger than Beckham in my eyes.

Get shut, for as much as possible (maybe a bidding war between citeh and spuds? accept the highest bid by early-mid july and set about re-moulding our squad.

I'd sooner have Barton at the club than Roque on this performance, and I'm not kidding either!! At least Barton shows committment to the cause!!

That's really a matter for the medical staff.

If he'd only actually had a few minor niggles in the first half of the season, which were capable of being fully cleared up, there was no actual reason not to keep him for the second half.

The article posted by jim reads as if the arthroscopy found next to nothing wrong with his knee!

Kandi-perhaps you would like to offer an English version of what you quoted; my reading of that is quite different to the comments in Jim's article.

Perhaps you would also like to quote the source?-I am presuming 780 AM is the radio station in Paraguay?

January was definately the time to sell, a player at the peak of his value. No point looking back though, how many games has he actually played for us since Jan 31st?

No doubt he will move on and do nothing like plenty who thought we weren't big enough before him.

The timing of this is poor but I hope it will have a strong uniting effect on the players. Lets just hope Hughes doesn't get sacked this summer.

The best thing was to keep him for the goals that we thought he was gonna score...it's allright saying that now. :brfcsmilie:

If you want to get really depressed, worth reading Nickos transfer threads around deadline day. This was not a difficult one to call. The irony was that we wouldn't sell him because we didn't have a replacement. So we get rid of Derbyshire and we don't have a replacement for either of them. Now we are left with damaged goods who cant keep his gob shut for the media. Hughes is more likely to buy him for Sunderland than City. Even 'Arry isnt crazy enuff to drop 18 mil for a right old "city banka".

'Roque stated that his idea is to participate in the last matches of the current season but that is dependent on the knee's recovery process'. And yes, I also assume the 780 AM is the Paraguayan radio outlet.

I'll let everyone interpret this as they seem fit, but I doubt he'll be arsed to pull the shirt on once again. T*at. <_<

QUOTE (67splitscreen @ Apr 20 2009, 14:11 )

No height..... 185cm... MGP 183cm WHOSE BETTER IN THE AIR? PEDERSEN IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE LEAGUE IN WINNING HEADERS AND HAS A BRILLIANT LEAP. ALSO GOT THE LONG THROW WHICH SAM UTILISES A LOT.

No Power.....Probably about the same if not more than MGP, weighing in at 84.44 kg he's hardly light weight. MGP 74kg

No skill,......Well you could have fooled me, is technique not part of skill.

Goals this season 6 MGP 0 I'LL GIVE HIM THAT HE HAS SCORED GOALS, HOWEVER 3 OF THEM HAVE COME IN DEFEATS WHICH MEAN NOTHING AND ONE WAS A PENALTY. NOT REALLY A MATCH WINNER IS HE (AND I KNOW HE SCORED ONE MATCH WINNER VS WEST HAM)

Assists 2 MGP 8 STATS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

Age 24 MGP 27

App 2008/9 all comps 25 (8) 3Y MGP 29 (3) 3Y 1R

Taken from WBA web site. THAT SAYS IT ALL, IF ROVERS TALKED ABOUT PEDERSEN THEY'D MAKE HIM SOUND LIKE RONALDO.

Although in and out of the side during his first season at The Hawthorns his assists proved invaluable in helping the Baggies smash 109 goals throughout the campaign.

His point-saving strike as a substitute in the penultimate league game against Southampton effectively sealed Albion's automatic promotion to the Premier League.

And he put the icing on the cake with a cracking second goal in the final-day 2-0 win at QPR to secure the Championship crown, just days after celebrating the birth of his first child.

Brunt began his career as a trainee at Middlesbrough before joining the Owls in April 2004 following a successful month-long loan spell.

During 2006/07, the Belfast-born ace recorded his biggest goal tally for a season by netting ten times in 44 Championship games, including two as a substitute, to help Brian Laws' men finish ninth.

I'm not to sure this all constitutes utter garbage IMO. the fact that all the WBA players are still giving 100% says a lot about them, is MGP, Ill let you answer that one.

IMO he is a better option to the current MGP. NO THANK YOU

Are you sure about MGP aka Ronaldo.

Born inside the Arctic Circle, former boss Graeme Souness swooped to sign the midfielder from Norwegian club Tromso at the start of the 2004/05 season.

And after spending the first few months getting used to the pace of the English game, he has blossomed into becoming one of the countries most well-known left-wingers.

Someone who regularly produces the unexpected (like turning up for a game) and a scorer of spectacular goals, (remind me when was the last one).often from free-kicks,(dito) his late winner in the FA Cup against local rivals Burnley in 2005 will be talked about for years by Blackburn fans. (Can't argue with that one)

As you will see all very historical, is this the player you are referring to, or was that the other player Morten Pedersen. I would agree if that was the case, not many players could replace the original version, the one we have, Im sure a number of players can Jump, head and throw the ball, what about producing something from set plays, of course MGP excels dose he not.

He WAS one of our better player, but that was almost three seasons ago, how much longer do we wait for the form and desire to come back.

IMO get shut while he still has a value.

He didn't score that many in the first half of the season. I thought he would play a much bigger role and score more but something that we have been very good at in the past is picking our moments to sell, imo we have missed that this time. Still there is loads of hype about him and we may get a nice fee to invest in the team, with a little bonus from the trust....or not.

The Daily Mirror has him linked with Liverpool today so potentially there's the silver lining of an auction. Oh, providing Mark Hughes is 'in charge' at Eastlands this summer.

Only problem, well depending on how you see his value, is the 'Clause' and that will be the maximum fee, but at least it'll be 1 lump sum.

Since the window closed he has played 7 of our 14 games and scored 2 goals (Cov and Man U).

Got slated after the Spurs match for talking about the "ten mercenaries".

Well with Vogel gone and Crocky on his last legs(!?) we are down to 8.

After watching Spurs and West Brom recently there are lots of players to spend the 10 million max we will now get for Crocky.

ANOTHER strategic disaster in a year that has put us back to pre-Hughesy.

KEEP THE FAITH and the Season ticket Direct Debit going.
