I really hope he gets on the pitch before the close of the season, Personally I'd name him on the bench for sunday and put him on in the dying seconds just so the fans can voice their views.

I just wanna see him take his place as the squad do the lap round ewood on the last day

I wonder if he will ever set foot at ewood again, he certainly wont be walking round in front of the bbe this sunday before the game like he did a couple of weeks back

I've had enough of our players gobbing off in the press. RSC you owe us, you where rotting in the reserves at Bayern and going nowhere, until we came along.

As far as I'm concerned we should deal within the letter of his contract now, we accept the bid that means RSC gets nothing at all.

He's as good as handed in a request with all his whining and moaning, and now he's even saying he's played his last game.

Only problem would be what if he came on and accidentally without trying managed to score the winner? It does happen sometimes where a player simply can't help scoring e.g. when a ball takes a deflection from someone in the box who has no intention of touching it

Roque gets a slice of the sale - around £5 million - if a club offers the trigger figure of £20 million.

As no-one will now go near that there will have to be some negotiating all round.

By the way, Roque's agent was over the other day...possibly discussing the subject.

Why should there be any negotiation on his slice if the figure does not meet the trigger figure?

To be honest Rovers should be able to say to Roque: "Sorry, the bid we've accepted is £15 mill, so therefore you will receive nothing of the transfer money from us."

If he wants out then he'll have to accept it - tough!

But I'm sure all this was discussed in January on this board as well...

That will be the fee we get for him !

If that's true, I'd try to strike a deal with the buying club for about £19.5m

IMO one of the most underrated players around. When he plays for liverpool they are a much better team and he gets a fair few important goals.

Interesting to note that "Benni McCarthy, El-Hadji Diouf and Chris Samba all chose to miss the trip to Gleneagles and stayed with their families instead."

They mentioned this on Talksport this morning on Alan Brazil's show and it was a cause of some hilarity.

"Team bonding trip" etc. and half the team seemingly decide not to go thinking it isn't for them!

Last night a lady questioned SA about the Gleneagles trip and he said it was to get the squad away from the pressure. She scoffed at this given the situation and the recent performances and said that players like Benny should be running around Brockhall to lose weight. Sam laughed and said that he dearly wished Benny was present to hear her opinions of him.

Was Sam laughing meant to be a slight on the lady's daft question or Benni's lack of fitness?

Because I think she was 100% right!

Did he say anything else fresh he didn't say at the do the other week?

The club should have a policy with an effort made not to sign players with large families particularly those with kids. Sometimes it's unavoidable (if a player is really talented) but in football it's better for players to have limited personal distractions.

In most cases players would probably put their families as a higher order of priority than Blackburn Rovers. Maybe that's fair enough but I only care about the clubs interests. So the solution to that is to sign people who have no relatives (outside parents, brothers, sisters, etc) and prefer to focus most of their time on football.

Those players who chose to remain behind should not have been given that option.

Of course the downside to that is they could use the extra time to extend their social life. Though of course it's that which leads to them finding partners and starting a family in the first place.

What a stupid post Vinjay. So if we have a chance to sign a top player, we will have to check if he has a wife and kids?

Kaka: id like to sign for Rovers

John Williams: do you have a wife or kids?

Kaka: sure i do

John Williams: sorry mate, we cant sign you

Vinjay: ill play for you JW

John Williams: Vinjay, do you have a family?

Vinjay: no i dont

John Williams: welcome to Rovers young man!

"Commisioner Williams, we have no midfield, but we need to sign players with no outside commitments. Holy smoke Robin I have it! Prepare the Sam-mobile. To the orphanage! Away!"

You can't ban people from having a family, however awkward it may be for the club. In some cases, settling down and having a family has helped players who may have ended up like George Best.

There was a time not so long ago when clubs actively encouraged young players to get married and have kids because they reckoned it gave them stability. You can't sign players without kids as a deliberate policy. You're not even allowed to ask women nowadays if they plan to have children at any point in the future.

I've read some dumb posts on this message board and only signing players with no family is one of the dumbest.

You want a team full of single men more into boozing, toot and filming spitroasts on their mobile phone cameras?

A team full of single men: is there some other motivation for this demand?

Increases more media interest on the club perhaps? More publicity good or bad is a marketing dream ticket and more revenue can be made.

Any credibility you had is eroding daily vinjay.

The latter. I'm sure he is as frustrated by BM's attitude as the rest of us.

He did confirm that RSC IS injured and is not swinging the lead. SA said he had seen the operation on the inside of RSC's knee on a cd and the flaking bone was clearly visible.

Well, I think most of us were trying to give him the benefit of a new start after his long exile from these boards. However, he seems to have come back with no visible improvements in terms of content and obsessions even though he has managed to moderate his style a bit.

Oh come on, you all must surely know Vinjay is a wind up :D he couldn't make it much more obvious.

DE, after a lot of observation I think he's simply a nutjob. Just read on the takeover thread how he should knock it on the head : he won't stop till he's knocked firmly on the head.

I'm a relative newbie on here. I've only been on maybe 3 months? 4 at a push. I may only be a humble 17 yr old with very little social life coming up to my a-levels. But I know when the men in white coats are required cf: Vinjay!!

Vinjay, your policy is akin to sayin I should not be allowed to study at University if I have a girlfriend!! I have an adorable girlfriend, but SERIOUSLY doubt she will affect my a-level results! If I were to do badly that is down to poor effort on my part, rather than her being a 'distraction'.

Maybe Vinjay just wants 11 single men on the pitch for his own *ahem* enjoyment? I'll ring broadmoor, get them up to Ewood to look for any 'ham shankers' in the crowd
