ptholt Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Can I just point out that this information was posted BEFORE the meetings with staff at the Stadium were concluded last night, therefore disregard the information about tickets for Rovers fans. I know you mean well but we don't want Rovers fans to get mixed messages. Ah ok didnt mean to confuse anyone was only trying to assist as Monday when i spoke to the local council they had no idea how or where to even sell tickets... so was all a bit messy. We gonna meet up for a coffee Lee?

Majiball Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 it seems tomorrows match is on a dodgy foreign channel Which one????
Hasta Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Benfica 5/4 Rovers 9/4 Draw 12/5 Benfica are a much bigger price than I thought they'd be - even taking into account that it's a friendly.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I know pre-season is all about match fitness really but i would like to see us get the win tonight against a decent Benfica side.
joey_big_nose Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 What is our strongest eleven at the moment considering Bentley and Freidal are unavailable? I would probs go for: ---------------Roberts Pedersen-------Cruz----------Dunn --------Vogel---------Emerton Warnock--Nelsen--Samba--Ooijer -----------------Brown But then that is a formation that Hughes came up with rather than Ince... ps. Is monsieur Pineapple able to play?
waggy Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 looks like there will be a lot off rovers fans disapointed,my cousin and his mates do not get to portugal till midday today
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 What time is the kick off over here? I see a 9:15pm listed, is that the time in Portugal?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I would probs go for: ---------------Roberts Pedersen-------Cruz----------Dunn --------Vogel---------Emerton Warnock--Nelsen--Samba--Ooijer -----------------Brown ps. Is monsieur Pineapple able to play? I know Ince is a risk taker but thank god you're not our manager! Roberts in goal and Brown as a lone striker up front?! Are you crazy!! Pineapple head isn't going to arrive until they return from Portugal.
roversmum Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I know pre-season is all about match fitness really but i would like to see us get the win tonight against a decent Benfica side. Am not holding my breath.

RibbleValleyRover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Need a win tonight, to give us a boost i feel
DeadlyDirk Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Brown Reid Ooijer Nelson Warnock Emerton Mokoena Tugay Pedersen Roberts Santa Cruz Pretty strong team, should be a decent game.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Teams in from the official site: Rovers: Brown, Reid, Ooijer, Nelsen, Warnock, Emerton, Mokoena, Tugay, Pedersen, Roberts, Santa Cruz. Benfica: Moreira, Luis Filipe, Edcarlos, Luisao, Bastos, Urreta, Carlos Martins, Nuno Assis, Yeba, Sepsi, Nelson Oliveira. Looks like a 4-4-2 Brown Reid Ooijer Nelsen Warnock Emerton Mokoena Tugay Pedersen Roberts Santa Cruz
roversmum Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Let's hope none of Axe's potential suitors are watching the match.
Iceman Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Mum the axe, wil do well tonight.i think he wil be the creative link in midfield
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 What the hell 10 MINS: Well thats something you don't see everyday, Dunny has just driven the medical truck that they use for injuries on the pitch, back to the side of the ground. Brilliantly reversed into position!
rover6 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 When Iceman, South African patriot par excellence, begins to mock a fellow national, he must be bad. Mokoena will get the run around by the Benfica team. Prediction, expectation - fact. I'm with roversmum, I hope Tony Pulis is filing his nails and not watching or getting a scouting report on this game.
