Just watched the extended highlights on the above link.

The main thing as noted before is the return of Gamst in that game. I honestly hope he can remain at this type of form, what a great free kick and his crossing was great.

Brown was also pretty solid, he did his best blocking the shots but got real unlucky with the rebounds, his distribution was suspect at times but was overall solid.

Bert was on fire, it seems that the defencive duties have added an extra dimension to his game when operating where he was yesterday.

Warnock solid and made some good runs.

Nelson was very good too. Roberts looked pretty hungry too.

Hope our players maintain the progress, things will be good if they do.

Interesting moot point, I cannot watch the vast majority BBC sporting coverage provided online here in Malta because the BBC pick up my url and denies me access because I am not in the UK.

However, I have established that the streaming link I will hopefully be watching tonight's game on is not illegal here in Malta.

I have not posted and will not post the link because that would be totally unfair on the site mods and admin as to do so would be illegal within the UK and presumably there are some folks from the UK who access this site.

I have to say that I am really liking Ince's post-match comments, he seems to be honing in on the things that Hughes did nothing to address: slow out of the gate; everyone needing to contribute; sloppy passing when under pressure. I also like the fact that he has highlighted what has been a common refrain on here for ever - the fundamental weakness of our central midfield.

Plus giving much more airtime to the 'Hughes sees them everyday therefore they must all be cak' younger players.

And who would have thought when we were playing Halifax and Rochdale that we would one day deservedly beat Benfica? I know it's only a friendly but BENFICA ffs! Though that's probably just people of my generation who think that.
