Ben-2000 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 To put a positive slant on next season... 1995 Premier League Champions 2002 League Cup Winners - 7 years later 2009 7 more years later (has our time come for the FA Cup?!)
ZAC Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 1999 RELAGATION the only thing that'd worry me about a relegation repeat, would be if brian kidd was re-hired as manager! that's as likely as we are to go down, too! 1988-89, beaten by palace in the play-off final. i was born in 1979, though.... so not all bad! lol.

It would be amazing, a domestic treble. I wouldn't rule us out as our record is very good in the domestic competitions, quarters and semi finals for quite a few years.
Ben-2000 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 It would be fantastic... the final piece of the jigsaw. May just put a tenner on it at the start of the season
waggy Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 we have got to make the right appointment,i go for 1.shearer and newell 2.ince 3.grayson
Hughesy Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 If we took any of your 3 choices, id be gutted and worrying that we would do a 'Bolton'
AndyC Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 have you ever listened to shearer on match of the day? he never says anything remotely insightful. amazing considering what a great player he was. even souness runs rings around him when analysing a game
Threepenny Bit Foot Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Anything bad happen in 1969 then? Finished 19th in div 2 which, at that time, was our lowest ever league position
sibbald Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Won the league 81 years after we last won it next year is 81 years since we last won the FA Cup
Hughesy Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 You cursed us waggy! we have got to make the right appointment,i go for 1.shearer and newell 2.ince 3.grayson If we took any of your 3 choices, id be gutted and worrying that we would do a 'Bolton'
Friarsnig Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 This is uncanny. If you take the digits of 2009, ie 2+0+0+9 it comes to eleven! This is of course the number of players in a starting line up. Looks like we've had it then.

Claytons Left Boot Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 This is uncanny. If you take the digits of 2009, ie 2+0+0+9 it comes to eleven! I was thinking about that the other day. Add up the digits and they come to eleven. Eleven years ago I was thirty nine. Add up those digits and they come to twelve. I was twelve when I saw my first East Lancs derby when Rovers beat Burnley 2-0 in a friendly at Ewood. Nothing wrong with the season ending in a nine as far as I'm concerned.
