Billic and deschamps stick out on that list posted previous!

But can anyone see either of them coming to Ewood?

Maybe a Big name might attract a Takeover bid!

How gutted would hughes be if he went and a

Croatian zillionaire came in and installed Billic

and a open check book

 oh all this talk is getting to me :D

Sky Sports News understands members of the Chelsea hierarchy want Mark Hughes as the club's next manager.

The Blackburn Rovers boss is now at the centre of a managerial tug-of-war after Manchester City also made an approach for Hughes.

The former Manchester United striker was given permission by Blackburn on Monday to speak to City regarding the possibility of replacing Sven Goran Eriksson at Eastlands.

But Sky Sports News understands that Hughes is one of two names in the frame to replace Avram Grant in the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

Senior Chelsea figures met outside the country on Monday to discuss the appointment of a new boss, with Hughes and a foreign candidate in contention to succeed Grant.

And if it is Fat Sam who is our next manager i will be totally torn and not sure i could honestly back him.

Nothing there that nicko hasn't already given us details on, with regards the Chelsea stance.

Who should we be betting on then nicko, don't leave us in suspense

I have sold all of my Hughes for Chelsea bet...I just feel cleaner for some reason.

Part of me hopes the whole thing turns to sh!t.

Hughes waits for Chelsea, the call never comes.

Chelsea wait for Scolari. He becomes a Trappist monk.

Man City give the job to Big Sam by mistake.

Rovers take a moral stand and axe Hughes nonetheless, appointing Coppell and Coyley on a dream ticket.

But, then again, it's late...

i dont mind big sam as a pundit, i think he talks a lot of sense, but my judgement may be a bit impaired due to him being sat next to jamie redknapp. but as manager of this football club, not a chance. it makes me want to cry thinking about it. put a 5er on hughes at 13/2 last week to go to chelsea, so i hope he goes there, and city end up with big sam, that would be newcasltle all over again, i would love it!

i have no idea who i want as our next manager, that's why mr williams is in charge and not us. john williams is a brilliant man, a brilliant rover, a brilliant business man, and i have every faith in what he does. but if he goes for big sam, just no, it doesn't bear thinking about.

has peter reid 's name popped up anywhere yet? he always seems to be on betting lists when a manager vacates, I'm not sayin I want him though!!

regarding hughes. i'd thought i'd be gutted, but i'm not just angry and confused, and it's all turned into a bit of a circus, with the two biggest in town just taking the ###### out of an actually well run club. I was more gutted when souness left..however, that did work out well for us in the end..maybe this will too. he have a good core providing the majority stays, maybe a fresh approach is what we need...or maybe im just clutching at straws that the best young manager is finally leaving us.

Yet you extol the virtues of Steve McClaren who failed to reach a major tournament, not something Hoddle did. Add to that he was sacked for non-footballing reasons.

One of the better England managers of recent years in my opinion, and certainly a better bet than McClaren.

I'd agree, I thought he did a great job with England. Actually I wanted Hoddle for us instead of Souness.

Jims just trying to wind people up, he's feeling the need for some attention

Sad thing is i doubt we would sack him, although we should.

Coppell! Oh Dear. I thought he wasn't that bad when he inspired a poor Reading team up the table but he spent poorly and refused to play lita when the rest of his team couldn't score! Better than McClown or BFS but I still think we could do better.

Coppell is the dog's...

A straight man, someone who would see it as the height of his career, someone whose teams play with fire.

Reading went down because they ran out of goals, but the guy is a diamond.

He is also from up here, which helps.

How can a 'true' fan come out with this clap trap and say they'll stop supporting their team on the basis of the manager. If you want plain sailing and an easy life go and support Manure or another top 4 side. Supporting teams like Rovers is for real fans who love the club not the individuals. Get a grip!

:D:D:D I've been watching Rovers for 40 years not much plain sailing in there Mate. I'm gonna hazard a guess you happened along sometime AFTER uncle Jack. And yes I am probably over reacting. BTW, I said I was gonna support Burnley so not only do I not prefer plain sailing I clearly have a masochistic streak.

Any on here that know me also know that's not gonna happen

What do you think are the chances of Bilic coming?

Personally I think they're pretty slim but would love to see him at Ewood.

It's just stroke me Nicko, are you also online chatting/giving tit-bits via Chelsea's and City's message board at the same time as posting here?

You could overthrow governments with that kind of inside power!

big sam is like marmite!

personally - i'd be happy with him, as he knows how to work on a budget, has attracted some amazing players to bolton and embraces all the modern techniques in the game, but he probably has his sights set a little higher. he was a shade away from the england job afterall.

as for sparky - it's a shame its all ending like this. it's just laughable that anybody actually expects loyalty in football these days.

nicko - your information has yet again proved to be correct. you certainly have some sources! time for everyone who has publicly doubted you, to admit they were wrong!

Coppell? Would he want our job? What has he ever done? Got relegated with Reading and seems to give up with them last season.

Allardyce - style of football in past hasnt been great, but he gets results. You cant really count newcastle as everyone fails there and 6 months isnt long enough. He did a cracking job at Bolton - made them a very difficult team to beat and signed one or two good players - i.e. Anelka. I think with a better team with slightly more resources he could do a decent job. Id choose Allardyce over McLaren or Mowbray, Boothroyd, Reid, Dowie, Ince, Grayson, Newell etc.

Of the others - Ince, Mowbray, Grayson, Newell - Are too in-experienced.

King Kenny is in the past. Shearer is maybe an option as a number two to someone.

Big Dick Advocaat seems the best option for me - especially if he can bring his star man. Bilic or Houllier is also two other good options.

If coppell was that good He'd have bought a goalscorer last season!

Other teams would have shown interest in him when they were managerless!

Also most of his management has been in Division 1!

I don't want to pull the old 'I've been around the block and know a good boss when I see one' line...but.

I've been around the block and know a good manager when I see one. And Coppell is that man.

You just know at times when someone is real. He is.

If anyone wants him please feel free to contact and I will do some tapping. Don't know the geezer but I think he is worth chasing.

What has Coppell done? Ask Palace, Reading, Brentford, Brighton, Reading...every club he has been to has benefitted and he left them in a better state than when he came.

OK, Man City was a strange interlude. But we are all allowed one boo-boo in life.

Allardyce had his time at Bolton. McClaren - no thanks. Mowbray - nice football, dull guy. Boothroyd - I will give up the game if he gets it. Reid, Dowie, Ince, Grayson, Newell - why?????

Shearer - worth a thought. Advocaat is already on wages that even I wouldn't turn down...
