Just wondering what the prices were...cough, splutter.

Mark Hughes 11/8 on William Hill now for the Chelsea job!

Did anyone get him at 10/1?

I chanced a fiver yesterday on Hughes for Chelsea on Betfair. 22/1.

Tell you what though, there have to be some who decided to lay on him yesterday after the City stuff broke who are absolutely ******* themselves right now. Imagine having a 20 out there are 20/1. Wouldn't want to pay that out.

I had £40 backed at around 9.5/1.

balanced out with laying £40 at 4/1.

If my sums are right, if he's chelsea's next manager, i win a couple of hundred quid, if he isn't I break even.

Of course my sums could be wrong.

edit: and £2 backed on big phil @ 10/1 i think too.

I'm only suprised that nobody has set up a "NO TO BIG FAT SAM" group on facebook yet.

Haha, Yes there has - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=18800316337

People join up!!!

Im not too worried if Hughes does go, hes given us a good four years and one of the longest serving managers in the premiership. The issue is that we may have a lot of money to spend next season and if allarydce does get the job then he will waste it - i.e. Newcastle!! he doesnt know what to do with money

i.e.

Hughes compo - 5 million

+ the promised 10 million that was going to be given to sparky this summer

Bentley going??? -15million

Santa Cruz going???? - 15 million

Thats a potential 40 million+ potentially!! why give it to fat sam to do the usual bolton or newcastle rubbish!!

some one actually mentioned something similar to this in the "next manager thread"-regarding sam allardyce.i know his football isnt great-but maybe with better players at blackburn then he had a bolton and newcastle he would play a different style to what he normally does..

sam allardyce is a good manager-before mclaren he was a favourite for the england job-he had a bad spell at newcastle and all of a sudden he is a bad manager

he worked wonders at bolton on a limited budget-and i certainly wouldnt say no to the idea of him coming manager..

i think hes got to be better then some managers mentioned-ie ince, grayson, newell, coleman, strachan, jewell, and mclaren.

my problem with fat Sam is the way he conducts himself....i dont want my club to be dragged through the crap like Bolton were over the bung allegations. There is no smoke without fire

Allardyce didn't have a bad spell at Newcastle - they were midtable and he had barely got his feet under the table when he was sacked. I'd prefer McClaren but would not be unhappy if Allardyce were given the job. Rovers need a safe pair of hands and he would provide it.

Since when's Ireland been in a different time zone? I know they were pretty slow when I was there 25 years ago but they've caught up massively with EU funding!

haha...should probably have looked at his location!

At least the thread is moving along now though...

Presumably since he worked at United he still has friends in Manchester who he may well be visiting. You see all sorts of people all over the place. It doesn't mean they've come to the north-west to talk to rovers. We're playing this by the book according to Nicko anyway so we won't be meeting anyone in any sort of public place before it's confirmed Hughes is going.
