Though I think the most likely out come is that MH will move on - I don't think it is 100%.

I am not 100% on MH as a manager - he had just over three years to put together a decent squad - but last season I feel we massively under performed. Granted he didn't get huge financial backing and some of his buys were inspired - but I just wonder if the right replacement might actually bring an overall improvement.

Unless we find a new Jack Walker - we will always be a feeder club to the rich and bigger clubs (note bigger - not better :rover: ). We have to trust that JW can make a good appointment to take us up a level - which MH didn't really seem able to.

Anybody think it's still worth backing hughes now he's slipped to long odds?

Still temped to stick another cheeky £20 on him!

Chelsea have released a statment saying they have not approached anybody or any organisation with regards their search for a new manager.

Chelsea issue DENIAL statement for ANYONE being coveted

No, they just put Sky in their place after the Aneclotti stuff - that would have been an illegal approach.

So Sky 'break' a story that is, in fact, having to put their own mistake right.

Hilarious.

Sounds like they haven't reached Big Roman yet for an answer...what a pigging mess.

How do you explain an 8-1 loss at Middlesboro? A freak result ?

City were good at the start until it became clear they couldnt spend any more money to buy players capable of sustaining their initial efforts. I disagree on the playing side. individually they may be better players but its a team game and our team game is far better than theirs. The league position proves that our results against them prove that.

Maybe I got it wrong, was it because the owner was mainly away from the club in the last 6 weeks that cuased them to faulter as he wasnt tinkering with the team ??

I know where Sam lives (backs on to wife's cousin), anyone want information to do his windows ???

i'd be happy with sam as manager

must admit - i'm a little surprised at the negative reaction on here!

the downside about him, is that he left bolton because of lack of funds. the situation would be no different at rovers

Sounds like sky I was once interviewed by sky news with regards to a situation I was in. They put it on the news 3 months later when another 'development' came about with the same situation and called it 'news just in'

the 8-1 was because they were doing their best to get into the fair play for europe. they hardly made a single tackle all game!

He left Bolton because he had taken them as far as he could and he had fallen out with his buddy GARTSIDE

utter crud.

any team worth their salt wouldnt slump to a humiliating 8-1 defeat not to mention the pride in SGE losing to a young manager in Southgate in smoggieland of all places.

they lost 8-1 cause the team had no work ethic left in the knowledge the manager was off to pastures new and they were naffed with the little thai tinkering in the background.

imagine taking 5000 fans to a game and rolling over like that ?

Tom, be honest mate, do you really think Europes elite wont be after Ronnie the fat Brazilian ?

There is at the moment little attraction in playing in the council owned manchester stadium. With SVEn there at lest they had a chance, I doubt if Ronnie knows who Mark Hughes is and ther eis going to be one hell of a language barrier.

Frankie promised multi millionaire signings in the superstar bracket by my own footballing experience, there are NONE that have arrived so far that fit into that bracket. JHC City dont even sell all their tickets for both home and away games like they did and have seen a marked drop in season tickets purchases.

Life is not always greener as the saying goes. Read my last post pal. It couldnt be any further from the truth where City are concerned.

Nope I don't think Ronaldinho will join Man City, but someone said his budget was spent already on Ronaldinho and Jo....if they weren't joining it isn't spent...if it were spent and spent on that bracket, I doubt Hughes would be moaning much.

Like I say, I don't think it's that hard to re-achieve what he did at Blackburn at Man City...not that it would be enough for their owner.

But still managed to get Dunne sent off. Pompey were pretty much in the same situation. Players didnt want to put in a tackle incase they got injured for the cup final. You didnt see them getting hammered 8-1.

I'd call it a protest result at Boro - the players didn't want SGE to go - as well as a possible SGE 'gift to the owner.

Lets be honest as well, when Rovers played Boro, Rovers were lucky not to get battered 8.1 - as well as away at the barcodes a result Rovers stole at the last minute.

I think the 8-1 was a "nothing to play for" result... I said why I think they faltered, tired legs for foreign players at the end of a longer more phyiscal season. Your guess is as good as mine, likely neither are correct.

Oh, umm, isn't it a manager's job to get a team to play like one, so if Hughes went to a team with better players, and got them to play as a team, that'd be a step up, right?

Only point I'm trying to make, City isn't a "step down", it's at worst a lateral move for Hughes, one with the potential of enormous financial backing.

sorry we all forget on here that city are huge club with no cobwebs in the trophy room.brum city and man city should merge to make a massive club.ooops missed the great other acheivers ,the geordies off the list.

Everyone knows I'm not a huge Hughes fan, if he goes to City I think that's one of our rivals with a not fantastic manager. If we appoint a good guy it could work out well.

Mark Hughes is evens with the highly successful manager of the mighty AC Milan for arguably the best paid and best job in the entire footballing world.......... and YOU don't rate him eddie.

I've got to say that your knowledge of football is rapidly becoming legendary on here. Keep it up we all need to have a laugh at the moment.

Tom I listen to your view.

Frankie has a different idea as to what can be achieved at City compared to his own ambition.

He thinks that he can break the top 4 and make a challenge for the Premiership, EACH and EVERY football fan with an ounce of common dog realises that City along with the other 4 or 5 teams in the next tier of the Top League will NEVER break that mould NOR will they ever win the league.

THIS APPEARS TO BE THE BIGGEST POINT HE FAILS TO UNDERSTAND.

I wonder if old noodle head has had a wheat intake overdose ?

If City spent £200m on the likes of Ronnie, Bentley, Jo, RSC and more, he still wont see CITY at the top of the tree.

They will never rival united, chelsea, arsenal or liverpool for honours.

They may eventually rival the likes of Rovers, Newcastle, Spurs, Villa, Portsmouth for the 5th and 6th spot.

That, I am afraid, is as good as it will ever be for the council owned manchester stadium team.
