[Archived] Nicko's Thread Part 3

Recommended Posts

Well said, Nicko. Out of order, r6. Still, you are entitled to your opinion, and isn't there an 'ignore' button somewhere around?

Personally, I welcome Nicko's input, it makes a very difficult and hard situation to accept for us Rovers fans a little easier to take being able to keep ahead of events as it were, instead of having to listen to tittle tattle and half truths and alleged viewings of those under discussion in strange places.

I'd also like to say thanks from me to Glenn and the admin gang, keep up the good work, guys.

There is more to come on these stories and it's great to know there's somewhere we can discuss them sensibly.

Listen, son, I have had two long days...

If you think you know more about how clubs appoint their managers and when a major force like Chelsea gets itself in total chaos because the owner and the heirarchy are pushing in different directions then feel free to spout forth.

The day you get your next story will also be the day you get your first.

Don't wast energy on the likes of him Alan. Many of us with little time to spare flip through the main points and look out for the main contributors like yourself. I'm sure most skipped over your complainer's reply in any case.

Nicko, I wouldnt worry about Rover6, he thinks Paul Sturrock is the Manager for us.

is it £99,999,999.99 and a packet of Haribo for Ronaldo?

surely, judging by the amount he gets through, SAF would be more tempted by a few packets of Wrigleys

Yes, and I've used it to good effect where rover6 is concerned.

(Shame I can still see what he writes when someone quotes him.)

At the risk of agreeing with Rover6, pretty much everything Nicko has said so far on this thread has turned out to be balls.

First it was definately not Rijkaard to Chelsea, then it was definately Scolari or Hughes, then it was definately Ancelotti or Hughes, now it could be Rijkaard again! Let's face it, as appreciative as I am for Nicko's information, on this subject he clearly doesn't have a clue.

I've read these latest pages this morning and wonder if the thread should be re-named Pinocchio's Nose. Okay - maybe that's harsh but how is the news that Abramovich will take his time over appointing a new manager " quite sensational," Nicko?

Yes it probably rules out Hughes for the Chelsea job - but sensational? - give me a break. We're going to have to start inventing superlatives for REAL stories if this carries on.

Your post is out of order - you may not like the way somebody words something - great move on and read something else.

It is 'sensational news' a big club like chelsea, millions behind them, yet there are not so called great managers wanting the job - all running away from it. Only one manager wants the job, yet the owner does not want him.

Ignore the insults Nicko - most are grateful for your posts.

Very harsh. this is not a set in stone situation. chelsea themselves clearly don't know who they are getting and roman's targets seem to be different from Kenyon and co's. Nicko reports what he hears. That changes every half hour at the moment

I think it's Chelsea who don't have a clue to be honest, nicko can only report whats happening...

The game has changed Scotty. Before Chelsea had a certain timescale, now they are move relaxed and can wait for people to get other aspects of their life sorted.

Even if nicko had no clue, which he doesn't, it would be no different to any other poster on here. :xmas:

Its incredibly difficult to follow this whole saga as it seems to be continuously changing. You have two groups at Chelsea, Kenyon and some directors wanting one thing and Roman and his allies wanting another. Roman has clearly been changing his mind on who he wants and still hasn't decided yet.

So its hard for the media to find out what really is going on as its continuously changing.

Ignore the minority Nicko, i and so do many others enjoy your input on this site and its really appreciated.

With thousands of journalists reporting on the issue and so many twists and turns it is hard for nicko to judge what has happened. we have taken for granted at the information we have been getting from him and some people dont actually realise the hard-word nicko is putting into his job. If nicko weren't here we would have believed everything SSN had said last night. As far as im concerned he's doing a fantastic job and hope he keeps up the hard work.

How can you say he doesn't have a clue?

What he has posted here has been followed up in Newspapers, Television and Radio.

It's pretty obvious that some people at Chelsea want Hughes, so thats why he has been in the frame, he never said that the man making the decision wanted him, just that others who so might have some influence.

Rijkaard is known to be linked with the job before, and he left Barcelona, so was to be linked at the start. The reason is was not going to be him, was a non-football reason, and ruled him out.

Why do you bother coming into this thread?

Things change in football in a split second, no-one knows for definite until it is signed, you can't have a go at someone for passing on the latest info, which people are grateful for and respect.

Whether or not he is right, one thing he is doing to giving us the same information that the rest of the media give us but in many cases 12-24 hours earlier.

Yes he does and, as I said on my previous post, I appreciate that.

THINGS YOU WISHED YOU HAD STUCK BY...

Just before any hysterics start over Chelsea and the manager...

My best Chelsea contact tells me Roman wants someone who plays attractive football and is a 'glamourous' name.

It's showbiz.

Put it this way, I'm laying Sparky on Betfair until my nose bleeds. :D

WHAT A WAY TO RUN A FOOTBALL CLUB.
