And Nicko have you any news regarding ronaldo? It would make me so happy to see him leave united.

My mate keeps saying he will have a bet with me that ronaldo will score 68 goals next season and they will be for United hahha

Its time to close ranks folks and move the club on,we're all here for the Rovers....Hughes is history now.

Advocaat for me if we can temp him.

Me too, in a tall glass whisked with lemonade, Hmmmm, Yummy!

it will take some almighty convincing to get him to lower his wages and give up Champions League football with an excellent young team.

Advocaat is on serious, serious money and fabulous perks. His team go into the Champons League and they have the UEFA Cup in the cabinet.

He is also a disciplinarian who would put too many backs up.

That's a no go I think.

None of the candidates listed on Betfair thrill me apart from Bilic & Advocaat who are big money.

Sam is the clear favourite, the one advantage of big Sam is that rovers could pocket all of the compensation and put in towards transfers. I very much doubt that it though; im pretty certain that a lack of backing from the trust is the reason why sparky has left in any case.

I know one of the leading candidates they want to talk to...that's all I have managed to glean so far. There may be more. He may not want it.

But the chase is afoot.

Tally ho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've made my day a hell of a lot better.

Now instead of moping about, mourning the loss of Hughes and his big head, I'm actually excited as to who we might get in. I'm even smiling about it.

Plus the fact that I remembered that my ex (a hardcore City fan) hates Mark Hughes and will more than likely be highly irritated by his appointment. Not that she'd let on.

Bitter and sad at the way it ended, my view is that Hughes will not progress City as much as he did Rovers.

When he came to Ewood he inherited a poor outfit low on morale and results and saved our skins from relegation. Over the next two seasons he rebuilt and consolidated before progressing the team. The foundations are in place, they are solid and we have a talented squad at the club.

Thats what faces the next incoming manager. There is no turmoil and there is no moral problems. There will be cash and the new man will have a clean sweep of staff who he can bring to the club.

Attractive ? You god damned better believe its an attractive club for any top line manager or any manager worth his salt.

Like Den, I lost all respect for Hughes at the way he asked to speak to them and I believe he will become another Thaksin Muppet on a string, something that he wont be able to cope with.

For our new manager, well the odds stackers say BFS. They also put Shearer,McClaren and Ince as the leading 4 contenders. Our readers and members seem to be putting Advocaat out of the frame, I am not too sure about that one.

Oh, yes, just one more for City and the new manager. Ronaldinho was on tv earlier. He has a cake addiction which caused his weight problems and he allegedly wants £10m to play a season. Looking at his fat face and swollen midriff, its gonna take 3 months to get that lot off before he could even train, so if they expect to get him fit they better keep him off the cakes. Thats one of the reasons he has been withdrawn from the new nike add that was being filmed this and next week.

i personally would like to see jw trying to tempt strachan down ere

Why? He was rubbish everywhere he went in England. He only won the league this year because of Rangers' fixture pile-up. He has a 50/50 chance of winning that league ever year anyway, so we can't appoint him on success in Scotland.

If he was young and up-and-coming I'd say give him a go, but the fact that's he's proved repeatedly how good he is in England means we should stay well clear.

I'd love to share your optimism, but I'm really struggling.

How can any manager improve on what we've achieved this year without significant investment? With Hughes taking over at City and Spurs looking strong, it's possible that the only way is down.
