Ewood Spark Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Can't help thinking that if this situation had occurred a year down the line Alan Irvine would have been top of most people's list.

bazza Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Avoid Ince as manager. Why, Nicko? I thought he might just be the up-and-coming young talented manager we need.
imy9 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 what has Irvine achieved as a manager? He is not exactly a star name is he?
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Why Alan Irvine? Seriously - what has he done?? Ince, Newell etc may be very young managers with big futures, but whats to say they can attract top players and have good contacts accross Europe. I think for either of them its a step to soon. The fact Leicester want Ince says it all really, he is upcoming, he is a good prospect, but he isnt yet big enough or ready for the premier league
imarover Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 What are the odds of Man City away first game of next season? LOL 38/1 ?
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Why, Nicko? I thought he might just be the up-and-coming young talented manager we need. Leciester have made an approach, though thats according to Sky. Though with the recent Sky cockup about Ancellotti who knows...
nicko Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Why, Nicko? I thought he might just be the up-and-coming young talented manager we need. It's just a gut feeling. He was a bit 'large' as a player and might not fit in. All of the managerial links in the past year worry me - he is maybe too ambitious. I like his hunger and willingness to work at a lower level, but think you can do better.
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Nicko do you know who we are interested in? If so then let us know
nicko Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Leciester have made an approach, though thats according to Sky. Though with the recent Sky cockup about Ancellotti who knows... To be fair MK Dons have confirmed the approach. So it's not a porky. I wonder if it's a Sparky-style come-on for Rovers...with a similar result. By the way Ince is 'on a family holiday.' Obviously taking in the delights of Langho and Brockhall...
Ewood Spark Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 what has Irvine achieved as a manager? He is not exactly a star name is he? He managed to turn a moribund and relegation threatened North End round and will probably push-on this year. He knows Rovers from his days as both player and coach. Its just a hunch but I think he will turn out to be an excellent manager ... but Rovers vacancy has come too soon.
tony gale's mic Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I think Bilic is the foreign manager. He's been mentioned numerous times and nicko is yet to rule him out... Unless he wants to rule him out by replying to this post?
roversmum Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I thought for a moment Big Amo was coming back Can some pass the smelling salts please??????????? This is fun, see ya, Hughesey, don't forget the rent on your council house
nicko Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 SSN Reporting that Real will not go for Ronaldo Real said they weren't signing Beckham...and did. Unless Ronaldo has told them to go away - and I don't see that after some things have happened this week.
ffan Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Real said they weren't signing Beckham...and did. Unless Ronaldo has told them to go away - and I don't see that after some things have happened this week. Have you revealed the figure they have bid for him Nicko?
Claytons Left Boot Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hi nicko - me again - you seem to have avoided my two posts asking your thoughts on Henning unless I've missed something. Never mind! How about this for a third question? Well, last night you waited until around 9pm to tell us the 'sensational' news re Abramovic wanting to buy more time and the split there between Kenyon and co wanting Hughes and the owner apparently not. Will you be telling the nation that Hughes was only using Man City as an attempt to get Chelsea to play their hand? Letting 40k plus Man City fans know that he didn't really want to go there will be more than amusing. Keep up the good work.
