tony gale's mic Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hate to say this folks but its looking ruddy bleak managerial wise! Disagree.
Blue n White Rover Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hate to say this folks but its looking ruddy bleak managerial wise! We've always got Souness. Cheer up!
tony gale's mic Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Kenny Dalglish? He's managed a Premier League team so it's not him.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I don't think we can say its bleak or looking good until we actually know who the frontrunners are.
tony gale's mic Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Joe Royle? He's managed in the Premier League... Plus do you think we'd seriously go after Joe Royle?!
John Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I thought one of them had been there and done that, therefore must be experienced.
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Craig Levein or whatever he's called - dont want him either
philipl Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hate to say this folks but its looking ruddy bleak managerial wise! The process has scarcely started. There is a huge amount of talent out there which could easily come into play. Very little of it is English but that doesn't matter- our last English Manager was Brian Kidd. Blackburn Rovers is one of the world's plum managerial jobs.
cn_barlow Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I'll tell you something....the disappointment at losing Hughes has quickly turned into excitement!! Cant wait to find who these guys are! the way Nicko is carrying on about them is very encouraging! Mark who?
John Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Do you want to name that talent Philip before I slit my wrists....?
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Looking bleak? A team that finished 7th in the strongest league in the world, the richest in the world. Strong squad with at least £10m before sales to spend. Im sure we will have many top class candidates
Lurid Coat Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Nicko's been around the block a few times - I doubt he'd be thrilled by the prospects of Joe Royle, Dennis Wise or Gordon Strachan as the next Rovers manager.
tony gale's mic Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Our people are: Free agents and Have played/coached but NOT managed in the Premier League. So noone with a current job, and noone who has previously managed in the Premier League. I know I've laboured this point but I can't think of anyone but Shearer for the first (British) candidate. If they've never managed it'd have to be a Rovers hero to even get the board to consider them. I'm sure I'll be proved wrong though...
den Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Van Gaal? Bazza - happy Birthday to you and your twin Brother Bazzaisgreat Just seen it now!

Did nico say that the two people in question had definitely not managed in the premier league or just that they had premier league experience?
tony gale's mic Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Shearer Coppell Can't think of who else. They are a free agent and have never managed in the Premier League...which rules out Coppell.
den Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Bazza - happy Birthday to you and your twin Brother Bazzaisgreat Just seen it now! Err, I mean Bazzathegreat.
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Mike Newell, Simon Grayson, Dennis Wise, Gus Poyet, Zola, Hendry, Shearer - just to name a few
John Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Will they have coaching staff as good as Hughes. The players really looked forward to come into work every day. Training ground will have to be re-designed inside, it is all things Sparky has introduced. We really had a top class set up there.
