I think we can forget about Kenny every getting involved with management ever again.

He has nothing to prove and has plenty of other things to keep him busy these days such as organising and raising a lot of money through golf days for his wife's cancer charity.

He doesn't need it - why go back to a relatively skint Blackburn Rovers? I can't see that one at all.

SSN Saying that we have a 4 man shortlist and Ince is 1 of them.

Nicko any truth??

It doesn't need Nicko to tell you that is complete rubbish.

And Lechuck, name more than 20 managerial jobs anywhere in the world better than Blackburn Rovers.

Can't understand why anyone chooses a candidate based on sentiment, a past connection with the club has absolutely no affect on how well they'll perform as manager. Wipe out his connection with ourselves and not one person would suggest him, his name wouldn't even enter anyone's thoughts.

You misunderstand what I am trying to say..... I don't think Irvine should be considered for the job now ... but I think that in the future he will be found to be a very good manager. Dalgleish and Moyes obviously rated him as a coach ... it is my hunch that he has what it takes to become a good manager. In this case prior knowledge of the Rovers setup would be a bonus. It is my belief that 12 months down the line he would have been a serious candidate .... time will tell.

Panathanaikos.

Hasn't signed. Read a story earlier that he'd be too expensive. Could still go there of course, but it's not a done deal.

However he's not the foreign unemployed manager nicko alluded to. Unless he viewed Brian and Michael as one and the same.

Panathanaikos.

Nicko reckons they might be looking at Ten Cate, I haven't seen anything thats says in concrete Laudrup has signed.

Going back to the whole Shearer being an option i'm not so sure. The man is a god to me, my footballing hero and idol but i'm not sure he is up to managing a team in the prem. If we are going to consider making him an approach he has to have a decent team around him, someone experienced.

And i'm not sure sure he will want to give up his TV job.

The fact Ince is playing silly beggars with us and Leicester rules him completely out in my opinion. We've just had one manager drop a major career clanger playing games and ending up down at Man City- we don't want another faffing about like that on the way in as well.

He can go to Leicester and lose in the league to MK Dons. (MK Dons is a cracking good position- he should stick there as he would get another promotion within two seasons and build a solid reputation).

Candidate A - the one who I understand they will talk to and check out his interest in the job is...Alan Shearer.

I think it is a very exciting idea. If he wants it - and has a coaching team -then it would be a big boost. The guy just has something and his title medal is a decent thing to have in his armour.

I don't know if he wants it, but that takes a call from the club which I believe will come. A couple of people I know think he may take some persuading, but that's not for me to establish.

Candidate B - I will have to save for a while. Amazingly no-one has got it despite some inspired stabs.

The only further news is that I believe Sam Allardyce has already met John Williams. That's yet to be confirmed, but I'm quite confident on the info because of the source. I don't think it means he is getting it, but he is obviously in the frame.

I don't think there is a short-list yet but an awful lot of work is going on...

Well it wouldn't be the first time he's picked the Rovers team......
