Championship player at most, think he is overrated, definitly not premier league materiale... Lillestrøm are still playing, but they are having a very bad start to the season, currently on a qualifying place and just lost i the Norwegian cup to a side from a lower division. is there any clubs interrest in Occean?

Cheers, no-one in yet, just wondered if he was worth a look...not for Premier obviously.

By the way, thanks for taking my advice on NOT betting  ...just checked Betfair.

SSN will be on it within the hour and every other outlet on the planet.

Stroke Boy is already twitching and looking for someone to punch.

I wouldn't be too concerned, after all it was reported elsewhere before here, so it's not as if you have given out the information.

Managers out of work are always going to be linked, and if most media outlets had any knowledge of managers etc they would have already picked up on the fact that he has bags of experience both as a manager and assistant and would have linked him to every job available. Seeing as that's all they ever do....

He's now 40/1 on Coral.

Not that I'm condoning anyone having a flutter on such an important matter.

Very helpful. Are there are any more games coming up?

Everything about Occean has probably already been said - he relies on his wingers to provide him with good crosses, good in the air but I wouldn't call him a natural finisher. Got a good physical presence (like Carew at Villa) but poor ball control. Championship maybe, but he would never make it in the Premier League. Are you scouting him for Coyle? ;)

About this ten Cate - he's been a part of various backroom staffs for some time now, who would he bring in to help him out at Rovers? He fits the bill perfectly, but he needs a good team around him as well.

According to my journo mates down here, we have been knocked back in an approach for David Moyes. Bascially said no chance!

As if he would ever leave Everton. Good to see the ambition out there though.

Obviously not enough for Hughes though.....

Personally, I rate Walter Smith, but again, he would not leave the Gers.

2 week summer holiday is coming up very shortly.

Others have already talked about Occean, I will add that in my opinion, his stock has been falling for a while. He is still regarded as a danger man, but he's not been close to the sort of form he had a few years ago when it would hard to argue a status as one of the top strikers in our league.

But you're drunk...

I am drunk and think I am getting wound up on Moyes to be fair. Lot of London based clubs taking pleasure out of our situation.

Still think Smith is a good manager (when sober as well).

I'd rather have Billy Occean. I've heard he's good when the going gets tough!

You may just get your wish if we get Ten cate as manager! isnt he just a less goofy version of billy? hopefully he wont be like souness in the sense that when the going gets tough the tough get going to newcastle! .... & he wont sign a caribean queen like yorke!!!!

I cant see how we would approach Everton. Has to be BS.

How could we tempt him to leave a side that finished 5th last season and has some money to spend as widely reported...???

Moyes - no chance on any level.

Walter - no thanks on any level.

:rover: i would not be happy with a MANAGER who is prepared to play 2nd fiddle to avram grant,a guy obviously more intrested in money than football :brfcsmilie:

We've just had one of those it turns out, and he did a good job for us.

Rem this waggy

professional (adj)...... participating for gain or livelihood in an activity or field of endeavor often engaged in by amateurs <a professional golfer> b : having a particular profession as a permanent career <a professional soldier> c : engaged in by persons receiving financial return <professional football>

JW may ask him to get out of our dreams and get into our club!

SSN saying Rijkaard 'wants a break' - I'll have to tell my Chelsea source to be more accurate in future... ;)

Kenyon thinks he has got someone...but we heard that before from the little fella.

Will have to agree to disagree on Smith.

Obviously we have different views on what makes a good manager - e.g. Coppell

Off on a tangent here...could our Norwegian chums tell me a bit more about Olivier Occean? Is he any good? What level could he play in England? Are Lillestrom still playing?

May I ask why?

Occean is a half-decent striker. Big strong guy, reasonable pace for his size, unspectacular though. Lillestrøm has been awful all season, and recently sacked their manager - last night they managed to lose 1-0 to Eidsvold/Turn, who I believe is in the 2nd division.

I wouldn't want to buy Occean to any Championship sides, but given his physical nature he could probably just make it in that league.

Bumleys scouting networks a bit thin on the ground in Norway is it Alan?

Herbergeeh........ Next time rem to add in and recommend some real donkey as the next Andy Lochead to Nicko will you? In fact thinking on it......... it sounds like this bgugger might just be one of old Andy's love children!

Don't fancy your chances of keeping Ten Cate's name out of the limelight Nicko.

It will hit the Lancs Telegraph soon.
