nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 David Craig pushing his mate Steve McClaren on SSN...save your breath, pal.
nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Will have to agree to disagree on Smith. Obviously we have different views on what makes a good manager - e.g. Coppell Yes, but you're p***ed...
yoda Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I too am inspired. How does it go...? "She was only the undertakers daughter, And she liked lying under the sod, But anyone cadaver And she knew how to treat a stiff..." Coleridge or Keats? she was only the welders daughter but she had Acetelyne tits back to the uncouthed northen hords and garb
tcj_jones Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Apologies on my behalf, Nicko. I thought you told us to refrain from betting purely because he wasn't a dead cert. Seeing as Ten Cate had already been mentioned and that you backed this up, I didn't see any harm in placing a bet. If he's as low as 12/1 in some places, then I really am pleased with the 33/1 odds I was given.
nono91291 Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Kenyon thinks he has got someone...but we heard that before from the little fella. I have a feeling it could be an outsider? Some seem a bit TOO obvious... Ten Cate would be interesting, I share some other peoples concerns regarding his lack of back room staff, perhaps they'll be looking at a model where if the manager does go the whole team doesn't sod off with him!?

nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 All I was saying is DON'T take it as a cert for the job - just a live runner.
EwoodGlory Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Betfair is just plain crazy, there was a thing on the forum saying SSN had mentioned Ten Cate, that true? Looked at the odds and someone was try to put on £100 at 2.5 I took £15 of that thanks very much. We seriously need this thread locked down to members only. The 'Nicko Effect' is causing Sky to jump on everything in here. *waves at stroke boy*
nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...89520-20595490/ Check the date, work out the rest and you get today's major prize...

Saf Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 IF he was to come i mean ten cate who would be his assistants
Presty On Tour Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 henk ten cate odds are closing in fast, by the end of the day he could be favorite!
nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Somebody looking here goes on the Betfair forum. That is official. I am a very placid pussy-cat most of the time, but don't pull the old tiger's tail because he can get vicious...
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Did they just regurgitate what you said or something?
Mozzer Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 sky sports will have it up and running by the end of the day about henk ten cate interested in blackburn job.. nicko-anyone with a cv like that, over names been linked surely should get the job?? as a manager-has he done well??
Torgeir Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Check the date, work out the rest and you get today's major prize... Shouldn't the article say Michael Laudrup and not Brian, or is he a manager as well?
Iceman Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 im very impressed with Ten Cate..if he gets the job, then id be over the moon..if not him then either Houllier or Deschamps would be my other choices
joey_big_nose Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I'm a little worried about all this betting talk on here. Whoever influences opinion on here is going to have the opportunity to make a large amount of money. It is not really the purpose of the board is it?
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Any way this can be combatted? Making this forum readable to members only? I agree there seems to have been a serious change in this thread from rumours to betting odds etc. Don't like it either.
nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 nicko-anyone with a cv like that, over names been linked surely should get the job?? as a manager-has he done well?? If you are going for experience he would be a great choice, but I also like Shearer for other reasons - I think he is a leader and would get the club buzzing. So either of them would do for me. Ten Cate has managed an awful lot of clubs around the world and was the brains and strength at Barca and Chelsea...clubs don't come much bigger. It's not like Kidd who worked under Ferguson or McClaren. They were both number twos who were under a top manager. Ten Cate had to teach Rijkaard the ropes - he was a flop at Sparta before he went to Barca remember - and Grant was just a figurehead. This guy is the dog's in my opinion.
nicko Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Shouldn't the article say Michael Laudrup and not Brian, or is he a manager as well? I'll have to blame the subs for that one...
vyeo Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 that is the best piece of news all week! i'm truly excited now... fingers-crossed! great one nicko!
