thenodrog Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 but I don't think I've met another poster more childish in their responses when challenged (except maybe Drog).

Lathund Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 All well and good then . So there should be no need to debate about the content of someone's posts (that you don't read ) .......... on a thread which has had no reference to him anyway . Well there's no "need" to discuss anything at all on these boards really, but people do anyway. And FWIW, from the fact that I don't read his post it doesn't follow logically that there's no need to debate it. And there was a reference to him; T4E mentioned him. So blame him If there was anything happening with the manager job we would be talking about that instead, but as that's not the case we have to talk about something, right?
American Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Sorry, couldn't resist! (And I know you have a sense of humor.)
dj54nna Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Good mate of mine text me this morning, he works in a coffee bar in town. Jack Straw was in and told him that he'd spoken to JW and that his main candidates are Shearer and Ince, with big Al supposedly 'interested'. Take that how you will. Personally I'd still want Ten Cate, perhaps with one of those as his assistant/head coach, as neither of them deserve the job outright yet.
gumboots Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 And JW's going to have told Jack Straw exactly what's going on so he can blab it to the guy in the coffee bar? Don't think that's quite how Rovers work.
AJW Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 hi guys been workin all day , just out of curiosity , WAS shearer asked to comment on the rovers job today on match of the day?
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 hi guys been workin all day , just out of curiosity , WAS shearer asked to comment on the rovers job today on match of the day? Nope
John Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Henk Ten Cate is expected to be named as the new coach of Greek Super League club Panathinaikos, according to reports in the Greek media on Saturday.
Mc Love Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Ah dont be showing us that John, haha went out and did a little bet.
nicko Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Henk Ten Cate is expected to be named as the new coach of Greek Super League club Panathinaikos, according to reports in the Greek media on Saturday. It's just the Greek press catching up with the Dutch report. Ten Cate has spoken to Panathinaikos, but he has applied for the Rovers job. If he doesn't get the Rovers job he may well go to Greece. End of.
Mozzer Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 seems like paul ince is one of the favourites for the job.. i personally think the choice has to be between shearer and henk ten cate-for me both of those could attract players to the club, and stop our best players leaving.. shearer-altho no experience-could get the town rocking-and crowds might start to come back - obviously he would need a good team behind him. henk ten cate-has experience and a good cv..
John Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Nicko - can you give us an insight into tomorrow's managerial stories around midnight? I know you can't reveal anything until papers are printed etc, but usually ok around then? Or will we have to wait until the morning...
adopted scouser Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 It's just the Greek press catching up with the Dutch report. Ten Cate has spoken to Panathinaikos, but he has applied for the Rovers job. If he doesn't get the Rovers job he may well go to Greece. End of. I've seen a picture of him. Never mind Sparky's 'hard man' reputation - if he does a f***ing haka on the centre spot before a game they've had it
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I don't think Ince is the right person for the job, it would be a far greater gamble than we made when we appointed Hughes. The same would also apply to bringing in Shearer.
bob fleming Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Just out of interest who do you think we should get nicko? Shearer for me, I think, I'm still not sure.
bringdunnback Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Why are people still wanting Shearer, it makes no sense. He made himself look more of an idiot on MOTD, he clearly has no footballing brain and just wouldn't be right.
nicko Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Just out of interest who do you think we should get nicko? Shearer for me, I think, I'm still not sure. Shearer, Ten Cate or Laudrup would do. Big Shearer development in a certain Sunday paper tomorrow. Along with another interesting tale or twelve.
bats Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Shearer, Ten Cate or Laudrup would do. Big Shearer development in a certain Sunday paper tomorrow. Along with another interesting tale or twelve. Is there any chance of getting Laudrup, Nicko. Has he expressed an interest?
Mc Love Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Big shearer development......oh crap! If he is ass man to ten cate, then it may be good
broadsword Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Shearer's building a block of flats down by Brockhall?
The Prof. Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Shearer had stopped acting goofy tonight on the Beeb. mmmmm.... Still looked goofy though!
John Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Blackburn's hopes of replacing Hughes with their former striker, Alan Shearer, look to be fading. Shearer is the popular choice with Rovers fans but the former England captain is contracted to the BBC next season and is happy to continue with that.
philipl Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 There is no point us supporters faffing around at this stage. It is going to be Tuesday probably before the real action starts and candidates are ruled out. McLaren has obviously got a mate putting a few bob himself in a narrow market and encouraged Don Mackay to have his say. Ince's folk have wound up the Telegraph because he's playing ducks and drakes with Manadaric. Shearer has said he's interested. Panathanaikos are going back to the drawing board officially but about to appoint ten Cate in the Dutch press so Rovers get a hurry on. It's all shadow boxing at this stage.
