Ohhhhhhhhh I see. I didn't get that AT ALL.

Thanks for clarifying :)

So it's justified??

One can be labled an 'Ass Man' yet retain dignity due to Football Managers' existence?

Ah well, now Hasta has done our badges for us (man thread), we are all lightening up and looking forward to Rovers post-Sparky.

So, who will Henk ten bob Cate's ass man be then?

Though for sheer pizzazz, Bilic as the man takes some beating!

Yer man Kenny Miller's move is stalling because he wants a pay off from Derby - he will be on LESS money at the Castle than he was on at Pride Park. So he wangts a wedge to go.

You coouldn't make it up.

The current manager stories shows football to be a very strange game.

Chelsea, loadsamoney, a squad of players that were runners up in the premiership, got to the champions league final, yet nobody wants to be their manager.

Rovers, hardly any money, crashed out of all the cups, 7th in the league, yet have a list of candidates who want the job.

People want the Rovers job - nobody wants the Chelsea job. This speaks volumes for the way Rovers are run - who says Rovers are not a big club?

But i think the calibre, or rather type, of managers the clubs are after is quite different.

regarding the takeover

if only you reported this last week nicko-we might still have a manager-i think the deciding factor in mark hughes leaving was that he had no funds to work with-its a shame that news of a takeover could happen soon after he left- or maybe he wanted a new challenge anyway.

any way, it will be good news if we can be takenover, and the new manager can be given funds-depending on who we appoint-this could turn out a good season after all.

regarding tom huddlestone-i know we have been linked with him couple months back for a fee around 3-4million-but the past couple of weeks when clubs such as aston villa/ everton are linked with him is fee is around 7-8million-do spurs really value him at that price??? or is it because he was involved in the england squad and his english his price has pushed up

I guess the lower demands of the job, and the more discreet mangement of the club from the owners/board members means that the Rovers job is easier to get on with and do well.

I don't think it would have made a difference with the ex-manager.

And I wouldn't be sure this attempt will go through. There are a lot of hurdles to cross. At least somebody is trying to get over them, but there are plenty of issues before this is settled.

Bloody hell Nicko ! I wish you'd have told me this a few days ago so I could have got 12/1 on Shearer.....................oh you did !!! Top marks again Alan.

Alan Shearer has informed Blackburn Rovers that he may be persuaded to swap the comfort of the television studio for the stresses and strains of management by returning to Ewood Park to succeed Mark Hughes. The former England captain has told his former club that he would be interested in being interviewed for their vacancy and that he believes he has the quality and the hunger to drive the club forward.

Oh God no please. He has a vendetta against the fans that boo'd him he wants to get his own back by relegating the club.

If Shearer does become manager maybe we will get more airtime on MOTD :D

I don't think there will be an MOTD anymore, I think BBC lost the rights.
